Chapter 141 Is He Willing?

Book:My Most Precious Wife Published:2024-5-1

Emily did not realize that she was standing at the desk with her back toward Hunter.
The man on the bed had begun to entertain some dirty thoughts as he stared at her slender back. She had a good figure, with a thin waist and curvy hip that would fit nicely in his palms. She bent her body as if to grab something, and that was the move that almost killed him. He could not take his eyes off her captivating silhouette. His thoughts had wandered into even wilder imaginations.
‘If I stand behind her and press her onto the desk…’
Hunter coughed softly as though to remind himself to behave. He learned that young girls liked sweet and innocent feelings like to hold hands with their loved ones. Must 18-year-olds only hold hands? Could they not think of other things to do?
“Eldest Young Master Jackson, I’m going now.” When Emily turned around to look at him, she accidentally looked into his intense eyes, which were like two deep black-water springs.
The shade was so dark that it seemed like there was a tiny flame that flashed in it!
Emily shivered instinctively. She quickly swung her bag over her shoulder and left the man’s room.
His gaze was like a gaze that was filled with immense hunting spirit, and it was really terrifying. It was as if he could swallow her in one gulp at any moment! She felt insecure if she were to stay around him any longer.
Ewan was already in the car that morning. When Emily got it, her phone rang. Wendy? The last time they saw each other was at the asylum and that woman had not contacted her since. What did she want?
“Emily, are you free? There is something that I would like to discuss with you.” Just as the call connected, Wendy’s soft voice came through the phone.
Compared to her enthusiasm, Emily seemed very indifferent. “Sorry, I have to go to class, and I have no time for you.”
“What time does your class end? I’ll meet up with you.”
“I still have a lot of things to do after class. I have been swamped recently. If you have anything to say, please say it over the phone.”
What else could Wendy be up to? It was either to frame her or to get something from her.
Emily had already seen through that woman. She did not think she needed to be kind toward her sister.
“Sister, if you have nothing to say, then I will hang up. I need to get to my class.”
“Emily, don’t you care about your mother’s affairs?” Wendy said with a smile.
Mother…
Emily, who was about to hang up the phone, was startled. Her fingers tightened unconsciously. “What about her?”
“I wanted to tell you something about your mother, but you seem to be too busy for a chat.”
“12. 30 PM at UBC Coffee.”
After Emily hung up the phone, she stared at the dimmed screen on the mobile phone and fell into deep thoughts. She did not know much about her mother as she had left home for a long time. Charles told her that she was dead, but no one knew where she was buried. Even after so many years, Emily had never visited her mother’s grave.
If she was not dead, then why had she not visited her daughter for more than ten years? What did Wendy know about that?

Wendy was already at UBC Coffee slightly before their 12. 30 PM appointment. She chose to sit by a window as she waited for Emily to appear. Her phone was in her hand as she looked at the street outside the window. The Ning University campus was just opposite the cafe, and she could see the entrance in her line of sight. She would definitely spot Emily when she got out of campus. Sure enough, not long after that, she spotted Emily’s slender figure at the gate as she made her way toward the cafe.
“Sir, I have asked her out, but she will surely ask me about her mother later. I don’t have much information now.”
“I had someone check it last night. I will forward the information to you soon. All you needed to do today is get her blood sample.”
“Okay, I will get it.”
Wendy hung up the call, and she soon received a message from the man she spoke to.
As soon as Wendy hung up the call, her phone buzzed with a new message. It was from the man she had just spoken to.
“What? Is that all?”
Wendy was momentarily stunned. There was so little information; that woman, Sang Qiang, seemed to have no roots. She used to work in a bar, and that was where she knew Charles, who used to frequent the same bar. Shortly after that, they had progressed into an intimate relationship. A few years after that, she brought her daughter to Gu Mingaho to live with him. Of course, the man did a paternity test with her daughter too. He was not the type of person who would want to bring up another man’s child.
Talia lived with the Gu family for about a year before Kate drove her away. It was rumored that she had passed away after she left the Gu family, but Charles never looked for her either. She was only a woman, after all, so he did not pay much attention to her. After she left, Emily continued to stay with the Gu family, and Talia never appeared in their life again.
No one knew where Talia was from, not even the man that Wendy contacted.
As for the private investigator that the old madam hired, no one could get in touch with him after he went abroad. No one knew why the old madam asked him to investigate Talia. The only thing that they knew for sure was that the old madam had contacted that private investigator multiple times. Even though they did not get a definite answer, the answer had been quite apparent if one were to judge from the old madam’s actions.
When Emily walked into the cafe, Wendy twisted the unique ring that she wore that day and waved at her. Emily walked toward her with a blank expression and sat down opposite her.
“What the hell do you want?”
“What’s the hurry? Have you eaten yet?”
Wendy waved her hand to summon the waiter. “Two servings of filet mignon; medium to well done. Thank you.”
After the waiter left, Emily stared at Wendy’s beaming face again.
“What do you want to tell me?”
“How are things with you and Eldest Young Master Jackson? Is he treating you okay? Has he done it with you yet?”
Emily’s face sank, and she rose to her feet.
Wendy smiled and continued to say, “Your mother, Talia, used to be a barmaid. She was not a young miss like what you might have thought.”
Emily squeezed her palm to calm herself down before she sat back down on the chair. Her mother was dead; she did not care about her reputation.
“If you are only saying these things to humiliate me, then I have no time for you.”
“Did you really believe that? That she had passed away out there?”
Emily balled her fists.
“Wendy, if you have something to say, then just say it. If you don’t want to say it, then don’t waste my time!”
Did Wendy know something about her mother? Was she alive?
“I have a lot to say, but I also want to hear from you first. Why are you so unwilling to tell me?”
The smile on Wendy’s face was elegant and charming in the eyes of others. However, for Emily, it was an epitome of viciousness and hypocrisy.
“What do you want me to say?”
She knew that it was a game with Wendy. That woman would never do anything that had no benefits for her. Give her one fold, and she would want ten folds in return!
Wendy smiled. “Did I not just ask you a question? Why didn’t you want to answer me? Have you and Eldest Young Master Jackson done it yet?”
“Is he willing to touch you? Did you take the initiative to seduce him? How many times had he done it with you?”
