CH 106
Andrianne was pacing back and forth in the spacious living room of the mansion. The silence was deafening, and the loneliness was suffocating. She had been staying in the mansion for a week now, taking care of Lucas, but she couldn’t shake off the feeling of unease that Emily gave her.
She missed her own home and the comfort of her own bed. She missed the routine she had built with Jackie over the past few weeks. Andrianne sighed, she knew she couldn’t continue like this. She needed to leave the mansion.
As she was packing her bags, Lucas walked in, but he still couldn’t recognize her. Andrianne tried her best to hide her disappointment, but it was hard. “Where are you going?” Lucas asked, looking confused.
“I’m going back to Jackie’s house for a while,” Andrianne replied, trying to sound upbeat. “I just need some time for myself.”
Lucas looked at her, his eyes searching for something, but he couldn’t find it. “Okay, I understand. Take care of yourself,” he said with a smile.
Andrianne forced a smile, picked up her bags, and walked out of the mansion, feeling a mix of relief and sadness. She missed Lucas, but being in the mansion with Emily was too much for her to handle.
As she drove back to Jackie’s house, she couldn’t help but think about how much her life had changed in the past few weeks. She went from being married to Lucas, living in the mansion, to being pregnant and alone, living with her best friend.
When she got to Jackie’s house, Jackie was waiting for her at the door, her arms open for a hug. “How are you holding up?” Jackie asked, looking concerned.
Andrianne hugged her tightly, feeling the tears prickling at the corners of her eyes. “I’m okay,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper. “I just need some time to think.”
Jackie nodded, understanding. “Well, you know you can stay here for as long as you need to,” she said, leading Andrianne to the living room.
Andrianne sat down on the couch, feeling the weight of everything that had happened over the past few weeks. She had lost her husband, her home, and now she was pregnant with his child. She didn’t know how to handle it all.
As the days went by, Andrianne spent most of her time resting and thinking. She missed Lucas, but she knew she couldn’t go back to the mansion with Emily there. She needed to find a way to be with Lucas without Emily interfering.
As Andrianne was sitting on the couch at Jackie’s house, her mind wandered aimlessly, trying to forget about the drama that had been unfolding in her life. Suddenly, her phone rang, and she saw that it was her father’s butler calling.
“Andrianne, I’m sorry to disturb you, but I have some bad news,” the butler said in a grave tone.
“What’s wrong?” Andrianne asked, suddenly feeling a sense of dread creeping up inside her.
“Your father has slumped, and he’s been rushed to the hospital,” the butler replied.
Andrianne’s heart skipped a beat. She couldn’t believe what she was hearing. “Is he okay? What happened?” she asked, her voice trembling with fear.
“I’m not sure, Miss. All I know is that he was found unconscious in his office, and the paramedics had to be called,” the butler replied.
Without wasting another moment, Andrianne quickly gathered her things and rushed out of the house. She hailed a taxi and instructed the driver to take her to the hospital where her father was admitted.
As the taxi sped through the streets, Andrianne’s thoughts were in turmoil. She couldn’t bear the thought of losing her father, especially after everything she had been through in recent weeks. She prayed silently for his safety and well-being.
When she arrived at the hospital, she was directed to the ICU where her father was being treated. The doctors were doing everything they could to stabilize his condition, but it was touch and go. Andrianne sat by her father’s bedside, holding his hand and praying for a miracle.
For the next few hours, Andrianne stayed by her father’s side, never once leaving the hospital room. She was a bundle of nerves, unable to focus on anything else except her father’s condition. As time passed, Andrianne could feel her anxiety and fear growing with every passing moment.
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, the doctor came out of the ICU and approached Andrianne. “Miss, your father is stable now, but we need to keep him under observation for the next few days. He had a mild heart attack, but we managed to revive him in time,” the doctor said.
Andrianne breathed a sigh of relief, her heart overflowing with gratitude. “Thank you, doctor. Can I see him now?” she asked.
“Of course. But please remember, he needs plenty of rest, so try not to tire him out,” the doctor cautioned.
Andrianne nodded and walked back into the ICU. She looked at her father, who was still unconscious, and tears welled up in her eyes. She knew that her father had been through a lot, and she promised herself that she would do everything in her power to ensure that he recovered fully.
For the next few days, Andrianne remained by her father’s side, taking care of him and making sure he had everything he needed. She put her own life on hold, devoting all her time and energy to her father’s recovery.
And through it all, she knew that she had made the right decision. Despite all the challenges and setbacks she had faced, she had found the strength to keep going and to never give up hope.
As Andrianne stood by her father’s hospital bed, tears streaming down her face, she couldn’t help but feel a sense of overwhelming sadness and regret. Despite everything he had done to her, she still loved him and couldn’t bear the thought of losing him.
Looking down at his frail and weakened body, she couldn’t help but remember all the happy times they had shared when she was younger. Memories of him teaching her to ride a bike, taking her to the park, and reading her bedtime stories flooded her mind.
But those memories were soon replaced by the painful reality of the present. Her father had hurt her in so many ways, and he was responsible for her mother’s death. Andrianne’s heart felt heavy with sorrow and anger, but she tried to push those feelings aside.
As she watched her father struggle to breathe, she made a silent vow to put their past behind them and move forward if only he could make it out alive. She knew it wouldn’t be easy, but she was willing to try for his sake.
Despite the gravity of the situation, Andrianne couldn’t help but feel a sense of hope. Maybe her father’s brush with death would make him see the error of his ways and change for the better.
She knew it was a long shot, but she was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. For now, all she could do was pray and hope for the best, for his life and for their future.
