CH 102.
Andrianne slowly opened her eyes, feeling the warmth of the sun shining through her window. She stretched her arms and legs and sat up in bed. She rubbed her eyes and let out a deep sigh, her mind still foggy from sleep. Then she remembered her father’s call and quickly reached for her phone to check the time. It was already past 9 am.
She got out of bed and walked to the window, staring at the clear blue sky outside. A few moments later, Jackie came into the room, carrying a tray of breakfast.
“Good morning, sleepyhead,” Jackie said with a smile.
Andrianne turned around and returned the smile. “Morning, Jackie. What do we have here?”
“Your favorite,” Jackie replied, setting down the tray. “Pancakes, bacon, and scrambled eggs.”
Andrianne’s stomach grumbled in response to the delicious aroma. She sat down at the table and dug in, but her thoughts were still on her father.
“Jackie, I need to talk to you about something,” Andrianne said, putting down her fork.
“Sure, what is it?” Jackie asked.
“My dad called me yesterday. He wants to meet up and talk,” Andrianne said hesitantly.
Jackie looked up, surprised. “Your dad? The one who disowned you?”
Andrianne nodded. “Yes, he asked for forgiveness. I don’t know what to do.”
Jackie’s expression softened. “Andrianne, you have every right to be hesitant. But you also have the right to closure, and to forgive if you feel like it.”
Andrianne sighed, still unsure. “I know, but what if he’s just playing me? What if he’s still the same person who rejected me all those years ago?”
“I understand your concerns,” Jackie said, “but you’ll never know unless you try. And if he’s truly sorry, then maybe it’s time to let go of the past and move forward.”
Andrianne nodded thoughtfully. “You’re right. Maybe it’s time to give him a chance.”
Jackie smiled encouragingly. “Exactly. Now finish your breakfast, you don’t want to keep your dad waiting.”
Andrianne nodded and resumed eating, her mind now at ease. She knew that her conversation with her father would not be easy, but with Jackie’s support and guidance, she felt ready to face whatever lay ahead.
After finishing breakfast with Jackie, Andrianne watched as her friend headed out the door and into her car, on her way to work. She felt a sense of loneliness creep up on her as she realized she was alone in the house. She sighed and walked up the stairs to her room, closing the door behind her.
Andrianne felt a mix of emotions as she sat on her bed. She was nervous about seeing her father, but at the same time, she was hopeful that they could finally reconcile. She couldn’t help but think about Lucas and how he was doing. She wondered if he had regained consciousness yet.
As she lay there, her mind wandering, she thought about the past few months and how things had changed. She had been so happy with Lucas, but everything had come crashing down so suddenly. And now, with the baby on the way, everything was even more complicated.
Andrianne knew that she needed some time alone to think, to process everything that had happened. She lay there, lost in thought, for what seemed like hours.
Eventually, she got up and started to pack a bag for her trip to see her father. She knew that she needed to be prepared for anything. As she packed, she couldn’t help but feel a sense of excitement, mixed with nervousness.
After she finished packing, she went to the bathroom to freshen up. She looked at herself in the mirror and wondered if she was making the right decision. She took a deep breath, shook her head and walked out of the bathroom.
She dried herself off and put on a comfortable outfit, a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. She brushed her hair and applied a little makeup. She took a deep breath and grabbed her car keys before heading out of the door.
As she got into her car, she felt a sense of nervousness grip her. She knew she had to see her father and sort things out, but she wasn’t sure how it was going to go. She turned on the radio and drove towards her father’s house.
The drive to her father’s house was a short one, but it felt like an eternity. She pulled up outside the house and took a deep breath before getting out of the car. As she approached the front door, she hesitated for a moment before ringing the doorbell.
Her father answered the door, and Andrianne was surprised to see that he looked different. He had lost weight and looked older than she remembered. He hugged her tightly and asked her to come in.
They sat down in the living room, and her father apologized for everything that had happened between them. Andrianne was hesitant at first, but as her father spoke, she could feel the weight of resentment lifting off her shoulders.
They talked for hours, catching up on everything that had happened since they last saw each other. Andrianne talked about Lucas and her pregnancy, and her father listened intently.
As the sun started to set, Andrianne realized it was time for her to leave. Her father hugged her tightly and told her he loved her. Andrianne walked out of the house, feeling like a weight had been lifted off her shoulders. She got into her car and drove back home, feeling a sense of peace she hadn’t felt in a long time.
Andrianne drove to the house feeling a bit overwhelmed by everything that had been happening lately. As she drove, she felt the baby inside her kicking harder than usual. It was as if the baby was trying to tell her something or remind her of something important. She placed a hand on her stomach, feeling the soft kicks and movements of her unborn child.
She couldn’t help but smile as she thought about her baby. It was the only good thing that had come out of all the chaos in her life recently. She couldn’t wait to hold her baby in her arms and start a new life with her.
As she got to the house, Andrianne rested for a few minutes in her car, taking deep breaths and trying to calm her nerves. She felt a sudden wave of exhaustion come over her and decided to take a nap before heading back to the hospital to check on Lucas.
Andrianne went into the house and straight to the guest room. She laid on the bed, feeling the baby move inside her again. She closed her eyes and allowed herself to drift off into a deep sleep.
As she slept, she dreamt about Lucas and their future together. She saw them getting married and raising their child together. She saw herself happy and content with Lucas by her side, and the thought made her heart swell with joy.
When she woke up, Andrianne felt refreshed and energized. She got up and went to take a quick shower before heading back to the hospital. As she got dressed, she felt her baby kick again, reminding her that she needed to take care of herself for both her and the baby’s sake.
Feeling ready to face whatever lay ahead, Andrianne got into her car and drove to the hospital, feeling a sense of anticipation and nervousness at the same time.
