CH 94.
Lucas woke up with a heavy heart, as he had been doing for weeks now. He got out of bed and walked over to the window, looking out at the city skyline. Everything seemed so bleak and empty without Andrianne. He missed her terribly.
He walked over to his phone, hoping to see a missed call or message from her. But there was nothing. She still wasn’t ready to talk to him, even after all this time. He let out a deep sigh and ran his hands through his hair in frustration.
Lucas made his way to the bathroom and took a long, hot shower. He stood under the water, letting it wash away the stress and anxiety that had been building up inside him. But even the hot water couldn’t soothe the ache in his heart.
As he got dressed, he couldn’t help but think about how things had gone so wrong between him and Andrianne. He had thought they had something special, but now it all seemed like a distant memory. He knew he had made mistakes, but he still couldn’t believe that she had left him.
Lucas tried to shake off the sadness and went to the kitchen to make breakfast. He poured himself a cup of coffee and sat down at the table, but he couldn’t bring himself to eat. Everything tasted bland and unappetizing.
He picked up his phone again and scrolled through his contacts, trying to decide whether he should call Andrianne again. He knew it was probably a bad idea, but he just couldn’t help himself. He wanted to hear her voice, to know that she was okay.
But as he looked at her name on his screen, he couldn’t bring himself to press the call button. He knew that she needed space and time to heal, and he didn’t want to push her further away.
Lucas got up from the table and walked over to the window again, looking out at the world below. He felt so lost and alone without Andrianne by his side. He didn’t know how to move on from the pain of losing her.
Lucas couldn’t bear the thought of being in the same bed as Emily. He had made a mistake by getting drunk that night, and he knew it was all his fault. He had let his guard down and now he was paying the price for it. He looked at Emily, who was still sleeping soundly, and felt nothing for her. He wondered how he could have let things go so far with her. He knew that he had to end things with her, but he didn’t know how to do it without hurting her.
Lucas slowly got out of bed, careful not to wake Emily. He made his way to the bathroom, feeling the weight of his mistakes on his shoulders. He turned on the shower and stepped inside, letting the hot water wash over him. As he stood there, he closed his eyes and let out a deep sigh. He knew that he had to face the truth about his feelings for Andrianne.
Lucas had always been a man of reason, and he knew that he couldn’t let his emotions cloud his judgment. He had to do what was best for everyone involved, even if it meant hurting himself in the process. He opened his eyes and looked up at the showerhead, feeling the water stream down his face. He took a deep breath and decided that it was time to face the music.
Lucas stepped out of the shower and quickly got dressed. He had to talk to Andrianne and make things right. He didn’t care if it meant that he had to grovel and beg for her forgiveness. He had to try. He walked out of the bathroom, feeling determined and focused.
Johnson, the butler of the mansion, couldn’t help but feel a sense of unease as he prepared breakfast for Lucas. He had been with the family for years, and he had seen it all. He had witnessed Lucas’s parents’ happy marriage and the birth of their son, and he had watched Lucas grow up into the man he was today. However, he had never seen Lucas in such a state of distress as he was now.
As he set the table, Johnson couldn’t help but think about the fight between Lucas and Andrianne. He knew that Lucas had made a grave mistake, and he also knew that Andrianne was hurt. He couldn’t understand why Lucas had allowed Emily to stay in the house, knowing that it would only cause more trouble. Johnson felt a sense of disappointment and anger towards Emily for making Andrianne leave the house. He knew that Andrianne was a good woman, and she didn’t deserve to be treated that way.
As he placed the bacon on the plate, Johnson couldn’t help but wonder how things would have been different if Lucas had chosen to marry Andrianne instead of Emily. He knew that Andrianne was the better woman, and he wished that Lucas could see that too. Johnson sighed as he placed the plate on the table, knowing that he couldn’t do anything to change the situation.
As Lucas entered the room, Johnson quickly composed himself and greeted him with a smile. Lucas, however, was in no mood for pleasantries. He sat down at the table and began to eat his breakfast in silence. Johnson noticed that Lucas looked tired and unhappy, and he wondered if he was still thinking about Andrianne.
“Sir, if I may speak freely,” Johnson said tentatively.
Lucas looked up from his plate, surprised by Johnson’s sudden request.
“Go ahead,” he said.
“I can’t help but feel that things would be different if you had chosen Miss Andrianne instead of Miss Emily,” Johnson said.
Lucas’s expression darkened, and he slammed his fist on the table.
“Don’t you think I know that?” he growled.
Johnson took a step back, shocked by Lucas’s outburst.
“I’m sorry, sir,” he said, bowing his head.
Lucas took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down.
“I’m sorry, Johnson. I’m just… I’m just so tired of everything,” he said, running a hand through his hair.
“I understand, sir,” Johnson said sympathetically. “But you have to be strong. You have a business to run, and you can’t let your personal life affect it.”
Lucas nodded, knowing that Johnson was right. He had to put his personal life aside and focus on his business. But he couldn’t help but feel a sense of longing for Andrianne. He missed her, and he wished that he could turn back time and make things right.
As he finished his breakfast, Lucas knew that he had to find a way to fix things with Andrianne. He didn’t know how, but he was determined to try.
