CH 82.
Emily sat on her couch in her living room, scrolling through her phone with a huge smile on her face. She couldn’t believe that her plan had actually worked. She had finally gotten Lucas to commit to her and accept the pregnancy. She felt a sense of satisfaction wash over her, knowing that she had won.
She couldn’t wait to tell her friends about the news. They had always been skeptical about her relationship with Lucas, but now she had the proof that they were wrong. She picked up her phone and called her best friend, Sara.
“Hey, girl!” Emily said excitedly. “You won’t believe what just happened.”
“What? Tell me!” Sara replied eagerly.
“Lucas and I are finally together!” Emily exclaimed.
“What do you mean?” Sara asked, confused.
“I mean, we’re together. And I’m pregnant with his child,” Emily said, her voice oozing with satisfaction.
Sara was taken aback. “Emily, are you serious? That’s not how you’re supposed to start a relationship. And what about Andrianne?”
“Oh, don’t worry about her. Lucas and I are meant to be together. And nothing is going to stop us now,” Emily replied confidently.
Sara was hesitant, but Emily’s excitement was contagious, and she found herself getting caught up in the moment. She congratulated Emily and told her to keep her posted on any new developments.
Emily hung up the phone and sat back on the couch, grinning from ear to ear. She couldn’t wait to see Lucas again and bask in their newfound love. Nothing was going to stand in their way, not even Andrianne’s pregnancy.
Lucas couldn’t shake off the worry and guilt that had been gnawing at him ever since Emily’s visit. He paced back and forth in his study, his mind racing with thoughts of how he had let Andrianne down. He knew he had made a huge mistake, but he just couldn’t bring himself to tell her the truth.
He kept thinking about Andrianne’s smile, her sparkling eyes, and the way she always believed in him no matter what. He wondered how she would feel if she found out what he had done, and he couldn’t bear the thought of losing her.
Lucas picked up his phone, contemplating calling Andrianne to come over and talk, but he knew he couldn’t bring himself to face her. He feared that if he saw her, he would break down and tell her everything, and he couldn’t bear the thought of losing her trust.
Lucas sighed heavily, running his fingers through his hair as he walked to the window to stare at the sprawling gardens. He couldn’t believe he had let Emily’s manipulations get to him, and now he was in a situation where he didn’t know what to do.
He knew he had to make things right, but he didn’t know how. He was trapped, caught between his love for Andrianne and the fear of losing her. He felt like he was slowly losing his mind, and he didn’t know how much longer he could take the pressure.
Lucas sat down at his desk, picking up a pen and paper. He started to write a letter to Andrianne, pouring out his feelings of guilt and betrayal, but he couldn’t bring himself to finish it. He crumpled the paper into a ball and threw it into the trash, feeling like a failure.
As the hours passed by, Lucas grew more and more anxious. He couldn’t concentrate on his work, and he found himself staring off into space. He knew he had to talk to Andrianne, but he just didn’t know how to approach the conversation.
Finally, he made up his mind. He took a deep breath and picked up his phone, dialing Andrianne’s number. As the phone rang, he prayed she would answer, but there was no answer. He left a message, pleading with her to call him back, but he knew deep down that she might never call him back.
Lucas leaned back in his chair, closing his eyes as tears rolled down his cheeks. He had lost the woman he loved, and he knew it was all his fault.
Andrianne sat on the couch, scrolling through her phone as she waited for Lucas to come home. She had missed him so much and was excited to finally have him back home. When she heard the sound of the door opening, she quickly put down her phone and got up to greet him.
“Welcome back, Lucas,” she said, giving him a warm hug.
“Thanks, Andrianne,” he replied, returning the hug. “I missed you.”
Andrianne smiled at him, feeling happy that they were back together. She could sense that something was still bothering him, but she didn’t want to push him too hard.
“Would you like me to make you something to eat?” she asked, hoping to make him feel more at home.
“No, thanks. I’m not really hungry,” he replied, sitting down on the couch.
Andrianne sat down next to him and they started talking about their day. Lucas told her about his work and Andrianne shared some stories about her time with her friends.
As the night went on, Andrianne started to feel more and more comfortable around Lucas. She decided to forgive him for leaving her alone on his birthday night, knowing that he must have had a good reason for doing so.
“I forgive you, Lucas,” she said, looking into his eyes. “I know that whatever happened on your birthday night, you had a good reason for it.”
Lucas looked relieved, but Andrianne could still sense that something was off. She didn’t want to push him too hard, but she knew that they needed to have an honest conversation soon.
As they got ready for bed that night, Andrianne felt grateful to have Lucas back home with her. She snuggled up to him, feeling safe in his arms.
Little did she know, there was trouble brewing in their marriage that would soon come to light. As the night went on Lucas’ mind occasionally drifted to drastic ways to get Emily out of the way before she reached Andrianne.
