Chapter 67
Andrianne woke up feeling a little disoriented. She had spent the whole day in bed, feeling nauseous and dizzy. She groaned, wishing the feeling would go away, but it only intensified. She tried to get up, but her head was spinning, and she had to lie back down. She felt weak and helpless.
Andrianne was confused. She couldn’t figure out what was wrong with her. She thought it might be something she ate or drank, but she couldn’t remember having anything unusual. She tried to get up again, but her head throbbed with pain, and she collapsed back on the bed.
She decided to call her husband, Lucas, to let him know that she wasn’t feeling well. He picked up on the first ring, and Andrianne could hear the concern in his voice. Lucas asked her what was wrong, and Andrianne explained her symptoms. Lucas told her that he would leave work and come home to take care of her.
She tried to stand up, but her legs felt like jelly, and she stumbled back onto the bed. She knew she had to rest, so she lay back down, hoping the dizziness would pass.
But the feeling persisted, and Andrianne felt increasingly uneasy. She wondered if she had caught a bug or if it was something else. She couldn’t remember eating anything out of the ordinary or coming into contact with anyone who was sick.
As the day wore on, Andrianne stayed in bed, feeling too weak to move. She tried to distract herself by reading a book or watching TV, but the words and images on the page and screen seemed to swim before her eyes.
When Lucas returned from work, he found Andrianne still in bed, looking pale and weak.
“Hey babe, how’re you feeling now?”
“I don’t know,” she said weakly. “I just feel so dizzy and nauseous. I can’t seem to shake it off.”
Lucas took her temperature and checked her pulse. He couldn’t find anything wrong with her physically, but he could see that she was clearly unwell. He stayed with her, holding her hand and soothing her, assuring her that he was there for her and that everything would be okay.
Lucas woke up early the next day, as he got out of bed, he noticed that Andrianne was still sleeping soundly. He tiptoed out of the bed to the bathroom, he didn’t want to startle her, after a while, he gently kissed her warm forehead.
“My love, go take a shower let’s drive to the hospital,” he said snuggling up to her from behind, Andrianne stirred in bed before weakly nodding her head.
The drive to the hospital was a little less than an hour from the mansion, Lucas held her hand closely as he led her to the doctor’s office, after exchanging pleasantries the doctor check her vitals
“Ummm, the result for the diagnosis we carried out on your wife is out,” the doctor adjusted his glasses as he place his focus on Lucas.
The doctor reached out his hands in a handshake to Lucas”Congratulations to you both, your wife his pregnant,”
Andrianne couldn’t believe what the doctor had just said. She was pregnant. A new life was growing inside of her, and she didn’t know what to feel. She was happy, scared, and overwhelmed all at the same time.
Lucas held her hand tightly, sensing her mixed emotions. “Are you okay, sweetheart?” he asked, looking at her with concern.
Andrianne looked up at him and smiled weakly. “I’m fine. Just a little shocked, I guess.” she said softly.
Lucas leaned in and kissed her forehead. “Don’t worry, Andrianne. We’ll get through this together.” he said reassuringly.
The doctor went on to explain to Andrianne and Lucas the precautions they should take and how to care for the baby. Andrianne listened intently, soaking in all the information the doctor was providing.
As they were leaving the hospital, Andrianne felt a wave of nausea wash over her. Lucas quickly rushed her to the bathroom where she threw up. He held her hair back and rubbed her back, trying to soothe her.
After she was done, Lucas helped her clean up and they walked out of the bathroom together. Andrianne was feeling embarrassed, but Lucas was understanding and comforting.
“Let’s go home, Andrianne. You need to rest.” he said, putting his arm around her.
They got into the car and Lucas drove them home. During the ride, Andrianne couldn’t help but think about the future. She was excited to have a baby, but she was also scared. She wasn’t sure if she was ready to be a mother.
Lucas noticed the worried expression on her face and took her hand. “Hey, it’s going to be okay. We’ll figure it out together.” he said, smiling at her.
Andrianne smiled back, feeling grateful to have such a supportive husband. She knew that they had a lot to talk about and plan for, but for now, she was just happy to be going home and getting some rest.
As Lucas stared at her through the rear mirror, he noticed the look on Andrianne’s face.
“Hey, what’s wrong?” he asked, coming to sit beside her on the bed.
Andrianne looked at him and took a deep breath before speaking. “I’m just a little worried about today. What if something goes wrong with the pregnancy? What if the police or even the unknown caller trace the death of Steve to me?”
Lucas took her hand and held it tightly. “We’ll deal with whatever comes our way, together. And as for the pregnancy, we’ll take all the necessary precautions to ensure your safety and the safety of our child.”
Andrianne felt a sense of relief wash over her as she looked into Lucas’ reassuring eyes. She knew that he would always be there for her, no matter what.
After the appointment, they went out for breakfast at a nearby café. They sat outside on the patio, enjoying the warm sun and the beautiful surroundings. Andrianne felt a sense of peace wash over her, knowing that she had Lucas by her side.
As they sipped their coffee, Lucas turned to Andrianne and said, “I was thinking that we should take a trip, just the two of us, before the baby comes. We could go somewhere romantic and spend some quality time together.”
Andrianne smiled, feeling grateful for Lucas’ thoughtfulness. “That sounds wonderful, my love. Where should we go?”
Lucas grinned mischievously. “It’s a surprise. I’ll plan everything, and you just need to pack your bags.”
Andrianne laughed, feeling excited at the prospect of a surprise trip. She knew that Lucas would make it a memorable experience, one that they would cherish forever.
