CH 53.
Once Jackie had left, Steve turned his attention back to Andrianne. “You know what, Andrianne? I really thought you were smarter than this. I didn’t think I’d have to kidnap your husband…. Oops I mean contracted husband to get what I want from you.”
Andrianne’s heart was pounding in her chest. She couldn’t believe it was Steve who had done this. She had trusted him, confided in him, and now he had betrayed her in the worst possible way.
“Why? Why did you do this?” she managed to ask, her voice barely above a whisper.
“You know, Andrianne,” Steve began, his voice shaky with emotion. “I’ve always loved you. Even when we were kids, I knew you were the one for me. And when we reconnected, it was like fate brought us together again.”
Andrianne tried to step back, but Steve took a step forward, keeping the gun trained on her. “You can’t deny it, Andrianne. The way we were together, it was like nothing else mattered. I still feel that way, even after everything that’s happened.”
Andrianne’s mind flashed back to all the times Steve had hurt her, manipulated her, and lied to her. She couldn’t believe he was still trying to profess his love for her. “Steve, please,” she pleaded. “You need to let us go. Whatever this is, it’s not love. You can’t keep us here like this.”
Steve’s eyes flashed with anger, and he took another step forward. “Don’t tell me what love is, Andrianne. You don’t know anything about it. But I do. I know what it’s like to love someone so much that you’ll do anything for them. And that’s how I feel about you. I won’t let anything come between us, not even Lucas.”
Andrianne’s heart dropped as Steve mentioned Lucas. She had hoped that he wouldn’t bring him up, but it seemed that Steve was willing to do whatever it takes to have her to himself. “What have you done with Lucas?” she asked, her voice shaking.
Steve’s expression darkened, and he raised the gun slightly. “Don’t worry about him. He’s safe, for now. But if you don’t come back to me, things could change. And I don’t want that, Andrianne. I want you by my side.”
Andrianne felt sick to her stomach as Steve continued to talk about his love for her, his obsession with her. She knew she needed to come up with a plan, but her mind was clouded with fear and uncertainty. She looked around the room, trying to find something she could use as a weapon or a tool to escape, but everything seemed out of reach.
Andrianne felt a jolt of fear run down her spine as Steve grabbed her wrist and pulled her towards the door that led to the place where Lucas was being held captive. Her heart was pounding so hard that she could barely hear Steve’s words as he whispered in her ear.
“Come on, Andrianne,” Steve said in a low voice. “I want you to see what I’ve done for you. I want you to see how much I love you.”
Andrianne tried to pull away from him, but he was too strong. She felt herself being dragged through the dark hallway towards a large steel door. Her mind was racing with fear and confusion as she wondered what Steve had planned for her.
When they reached the door, Steve pulled out a key and unlocked it. Andrianne’s heart was in her throat as she saw the dark room inside. The only light came from a small bulb in the corner, casting eerie shadows on the walls.
And then, she saw Lucas. He was tied to a chair, his head slumped forward. Andrianne gasped in horror as she realized how much danger he was in.
“What have you done to him?” Andrianne asked, her voice shaking with fear and anger.
Steve didn’t answer. Instead, he pushed Andrianne towards Lucas and said, “Look at him, Andrianne. Look at what I’ve done for you. I did this because I love you. I did this to show you that I’m the only one who truly cares about you.”
Andrianne could feel her heart breaking as she looked at Lucas. He was bruised and battered, and his face was swollen from the beatings he had endured. She could see the fear in his eyes as he looked up at her, and she knew that she had to do something to help him.
“Please, Steve,” Andrianne pleaded. “Let him go. We can work this out together. You don’t have to hurt anyone.”
But Steve was beyond reason. He was obsessed with Andrianne, and he wasn’t going to let anyone come between them. He pulled out a gun and pointed it at her.
“I’m sorry, Andrianne,” he said, his voice shaking with emotion. “But I can’t let anything come between us. Not even him.”
Andrianne felt a surge of fear as she realized that Steve was serious. She knew that she had to act fast if she wanted to save Lucas and herself. She looked around the room for something she could use to defend herself, but there was nothing.
She rummages through the dark room when her eye hut a silver object, it was a gun she reached for it quietly,
“Ohh, I see that someone is really into her contracted husband, let’s see how you cope when he’s not here anymore,” He smirked, as he pointed the gun at Lucas, as soon as he pulled the trigger Andrianne cocked the gun.
Andrianne’s heart was pounding as she looked at Steve lying lifeless on the ground. She couldn’t believe what had just happened. She had just shot a man, even if he was the one who had taken Lucas away and threatened her life. She turned to Lucas, who was still lying on the ground, and saw that he was bleeding heavily.
