Chapter 385 Do You Want to Go Back to Him?

“I’m tired.” As soon as he said that, Michael leaned back on the sofa and closed his eyes.
Elena’s heart pounded. She had not seen Michael’s vulnerable side in a long while.
He had been like a god—especially in the past two months—he was like a deity in a battlefield. No one could get close to him, nor did he allow anybody to do so.
He was cold, proud, divine, and unapproachable.
However, he simply told her that he was tired. After various methods to make her stay by his side, and he had even tortured her in many different ways, a mere ‘I’m tired’ was enough to touch her heart!
She did not know when she had paused at the doorknob. However, she only hesitated for a second before she opened the door and left the room.
As the door closed, Michael slowly opened his eyes—there were colors of slight disappointment and loneliness in them.
Her heart was still with Henry.
Other than cold and cruel methods, he had no other ways to make her stay by his side.
What would she do if he gave her freedom?
She would go back to Henry right away without any hesitation, just like what had happened that night.
“Ha!” He smirked sadly. He finally took the glass of wine that Elena had left on the side table. He could still taste the alcohol that filled his belly; he had drunk a lot that night. However, he had only alcohol to accompany him.
Just when Michael was ready to drink the wine in the glass, he heard footsteps outside his room. The door opened, and a slim figure entered the room.
She had a hot cup of tea in her hand as she quietly made her way toward Michael.
Michael tightened his grip on the wine glass as he stared at the teacup in her hand. Did she not leave him to go back to her room?
“Haven’t you drunk enough tonight?” Elena snatched his wine glass and set it aside before she passed him the teacup.
“Drink the tea to warm your stomach. It’ll make you feel better.”
He could not remember the last time someone had cared for him like that. He stared at the cup of tea, but he did not accept it immediately. He felt melancholic when he looked at it.
Perhaps Elena knew what was in his mind. His words had saddened her. Did he think that everyone got close to him because they wanted the power that supported him—family, relatives, and friends alike? Did he think everyone was in a conspiracy against him?
He must have uncovered many hidden agendas and faced too much pressure when he took over Williams Corporation two months ago.
“I’m not here to please you on purpose.” Elena took his hand and made him hold the cup. However, he still did not drink it. As she was about to move her hand away, he squeezed her hand lightly and said, “Feed me.”
Elena sighed discreetly. She took the cup again and set it on his lips as she tried to feed him bit by bit. The tea was hot, and there was a hint of sweetness in the bitterness. The aftertaste had a mellow fragrance too.
Michael’s were half-closed. It was as if he enjoyed it while his stomach was gradually warmed.
The man had been too cold for far too long. He did not only freeze the others, but he also froze himself.
As soon as he finished the tea, he stood up and went toward the bed. Elena began to panic—he did say that he did not want her that night.
“It looks like I have not made a good impression for you for the past month.”
Michael sat at the edge of the bed and then collapsed on his back. Then, he turned and laid on his chest.
“Come sleep with me.”
Elena could not figure out what he wanted, so she was wary of his request. She sat on the side of the bed as she looked at him. However, Michael had turned toward the opposite side; he did not pay any attention to her.
People said that men who slept on their chests were usually very defensive. However, she did not feel an ounce of defensiveness from him.
She finally understood what Michael meant when he told her to sleep with him. He only wanted her to accompany him in bed as he slept.
Elena’s heart shuddered the moment his head touched her skin. It was as if he was at home and asleep on his wife’s lap.
He was relaxed, peaceful, and in the most comfortable posture.
“You have to let me sleep at the head of the bed, it’s uncomfortable without any support,” Elena softly said as she stared at his side profile.
However, he did not react. That man would pay attention to no one when he was that stubborn. He knew that she would solve that problem for him.
She sighed. She held his head and slowly moved her body. Finally, she managed to move her position to the headboard. Then she gently laid his head on her lap again.
The three-meter bed was wide enough for both of them even though the man had slept sideways. He did not react at all when Elena moved to the headboard; it was like he was an obedient child.
That was not the word one would use to describe Michael. Even though Elena was a little sad, her heart was a bit warm too. She started to massage his temples gently.
She knew that there were things that she should not say, but for some reason, she decided to let it all out.
“There are many people who care about you, but you are at a place so high that none could reach out to you.”
It was not as if he was high up on the pedestal; it was because he was a hard man to understand. If he were to lower his pride, perhaps he could see something different whenever he decided to look back.
Michael did not say anything, but his breathing labored. It happened only briefly, and then he was back to his calm self.
He had always been able to hide his feelings well; no one could ever understand him. Perhaps she had a chance to do so, but that opportunity had long gone.
As soon as Eldest Young Master Williams closed his heart for anyone, it would be difficult for that person to open it again. Elena had lost the key to his heart. Even if there were a chance to open his heart in the future, she would not be the one with the key.
Elena focused her mind and continued to massage his temples lightly. His breathing pattern had evened.
When he closed his eyes, the shadows under his long eyelashes were shaped like fans, they were beautiful and a sight to behold. It was the kind of eyelashes that even women would be envious. It took him a while before she could stop looking at them.
As she covered him with a blanket, his deep voice suddenly said, “There’s a little more than a month left.”
A little more than a month? For a moment, she could not react.
Michael asked, “After that, do you…want to go back to him?
