Chapter 376 Who Else But Me?

Book:The Reborn Wife Published:2024-5-1

Something had happened to Elena.
Sarah was missing as well, and both of them were nowhere to be found. The car that she took was abandoned at the shoreline.
There were no coast guards at sea, and Eldest Madam had destroyed the GPS on the boat. They could not figure out where the speedboat had gone.
“What’s going on? Why would my mom take Elena?” After he received the news, Dylan rushed over there immediately. When he arrived at the pier, Michael was already in the control room as he waited for the technicians to recover the data.
Sarah did not destroy the GPS once she got onto the boat. She only did it when they went out to the sea. It was apparent, however, that Sarah was not familiar with the system. It seemed like she had used a rather violent method to destroy the hardware.
Speedboats from the Williams Corporation were technologically more advanced than others, and each of them had an independent computer system. The system could help the operator to analyze its surrounding environment. Of course, navigation and communications with land and weather predictions were some of the functions included as well. The highly accurate positioning function was also built into the system.
If Sarah did not destroy the computer system in the boat, they could have immediately locked onto the speedboat’s position.
However, their last known position stopped at sea, and nobody knew where they went after that.
“Are you done?!” Michael kicked the chair and broke it. It was a very solid chair, so no one could fathom the strength of that kick! It could have killed or severely injured a person!
All the technicians shuddered, and all of them had to hold their breath.
The team leader wiped his sweat and immediately answered, “We can’t connect with the host computer on the speedboat. We can only rely on our own positioning system to predict the possible places that they would go to.”
“How do you know for sure, since the result is just an approximation?” Michael’s face darkened, and the team leader was frightened to his core!
“But Eldest Young Master Williams, we can’t communicate with the host, so we can’t repair it remotely!”
It seemed like the hardware had been completely destroyed.
“Eldest Young Master, please don’t worry. Even though it’s a prediction, it’s still pretty accurate.”
Michael did not say a word, and his expression was dark.
The team leader did not dare to say anything more. Instead, he asked everyone to continue processing the data and produce analysis results as soon as possible.
Eldest Young Master Williams’s temper was so short that if he were to explode, he might just kill someone!
Everybody knew that it was a serious matter as well, so none of them dared to relax.
Dylan noticed that his brother did not want to talk to him, so he went to Levi.
“What is happening? Were they just going out together, or…”
“Eldest Madam brought Miss Elena to the late old madam’s back quarters, and we found blood in the foyer.”
Dylan’s heart skipped a beat, and his expression turned serious.
“Blood?” What did his mother do to Elena?
“My mom wouldn’t harm a fly! Eldest Brother, she has been in the Williams family for so many years! Even if you’re not familiar with her personality, you would know that she would never do something like that!”
Michael was worried sick, how would he have the mood to talk to his brother?
Even if she was a bed warmer, she was still a tool that he needed. If something were to happen to her…
He clenched his fist, and the air around him turned colder.
Dylan looked at Levi, but Levi could not do anything for him.
If there was a bloodstain, it meant that they had a physical altercation. The image from the Williams family’s CCTV video showed an unscathed Sarah, which meant that the blood had belonged to Elena.
Hence, Sarah had taken the wounded Elena!
“The result is out!” Everyone looked at the team leader.
He looked at Michael with sweat on his forehead.
“Eldest Young Master Williams, the most possible place that they could have gone to is Rainbow Island, which belongs to Eldest Master. The next possibility is Sunglow Island, which belongs to Second Young Master.”
“It has to be Sunglow.” Dylan stepped forward to look at Michael.
“The last time we went to Rainbow, my mother was frightened by a snake in the woods. It’s a kind of snake that’s specific to that island. She mentioned that she would never go back there again.”
Michael did not say anything as he turned around and left the control room.
Levi walked behind them while he took out his phone to give out orders.
“Form a search team and go to Rainbow… Yes, Eldest Young Master and I will bring a few people to Sunglow.”

Elena woke up with an awful pain in her head. It had hurt so severely that it felt like it would explode. It was so painful that she almost could not open her eyelids!
After much effort, she finally blinked into consciousness. Her vision was blurred, but she could see a person had sat close to her. It seemed like they were writing something on a piece of paper. It was Sarah, and for some reason, she looked lonely.
Elena did not know why, but when she looked at the person, she could feel her desperation.
It was not Elena who despaired, but it was an air of anxiety from Sarah.
Why, though?
Elena moved slightly, and then she realized that her hands were tied behind her back. Perhaps she had been bound for too long, her skin was rubbed raw, and a slight movement would cause a pain that burned through her skin.
“You’re awake?” Sarah turned around and glanced at her. There was no hatred nor blame in her eyes, only a dull look. It was probably why she was in despair.
“What are you trying to do?” Elena struggled to sit up. She realized that they were in a cave!
Sarah had tied all four of her limbs and brought her there. What did she want with her?
“I won’t be able to survive this.” Sarah smiled sadly and helplessly. “Elena, you’ve blocked my last possible plan to survive.”
“Did you kill the old madam?”
Why did she have to do all that for no reason at all? The sole possibility was that she was the killer!
‘But why?’ She would never guess that Sarah had a grudge against the old madam.
Sarah smiled, but she did not look at Elena. She held her pen, and she continued to write on the piece of paper.
“Didn’t you already know everything that had happened? Who else could’ve killed her except me?”
“Why would you kill her?!” Elena roared at her. She was so agitated that her whole body shook, and even her lips trembled!
“Why did you have to kill her? Why? She was such a kind person, what did she do to you to deserve that? Why did you kill her?”
Why? Why did it have to be Sarah?
She did suspect her once, but she decided that Sarah had no motive to kill the old madam!
Then, why? Why would she do that?
Elena wanted to throw herself at her, but her limbs were tied. She toppled over and fell onto the ground with a thud. She did not give up, and she stared fiercely at Sarah.
“Tell me why? Why did you kill Grandmother? Why?!”
