“Yes, sir!” Levi called Ryan on the phone immediately. Then, he told Old Master Garcia, “Old Master Garcia, please don’t worry. Ryan is a very prominent doctor; he would be able to help Miss Garcia.”
Old Master Garcia nodded as he kept his hand on Ava’s shoulder. When he noticed the beads of sweat on her face, he thought that she was in pain.
“It’s okay. The doctor will be here any minute now. Don’t be afraid!” He looked at Joseph and said, “Help her to the sofa so that she can rest.”
Joseph was slightly hesitant. He felt strange about the whole thing. Ava had been fine a minute ago, so why did she suddenly become so weird? Ava was his cousin, and when he saw the sweat on her face, it did not seem that she was pretending.
Joseph stood up and helped Ava to the sofa.
“Don’t panic; just rest on the sofa, the doctor will be here any moment now.”
How could Ava not panic? Ryan was a skillful doctor. He would be able to tell that she had not been poisoned!
What else could she do?
With Joseph’s help, Ava stood up and walked toward the sofa in the living room.
After about ten steps, her body trembled, and she grabbed onto Old Master Garcia’s wrist.
“Grandfather, Grandfather! I… I want to leave this place! Somebody wants to harm me here! I want to leave, and I want to leave right now!”
“Miss Garcia, why would anyone want to harm you here?” Levi really disliked the woman. He knew that it was all an act, but he could not comprehend her actions.
Despite her sweaty face, he knew that it was all fake. However, he had no clue what she had planned. Whatever it was, his common sense told him that she was acting.
Did she want to do something to Elena again?
“Miss Elena, don’t go over there, it’s best not to touch her.” Levi pulled Elena back and reminded her.
Elena smiled at him and nodded. “Don’t you worry, I won’t give her the chance to frame me.” Once bitten, twice shy.
However, Elena was not thinking about that.
Ava had put on her dramatic act and insisted that they should leave.
Michael seemed incredibly calm. “Since she doesn’t want Ryan to check on her, let’s take her to the hospital. Ewan, get the car.”
“Yes, sir!” Ewan immediately got someone to get the car.
Michael looked at Old Master Garcia with a blank expression on his face.
“Old Master Garcia must’ve misunderstood, Ava and I do not have any extraordinary relationship.” He was a veteran in the business world, so he understood what Old Master Garcia had meant.
“I promised an elder that I would take care of her. That’s why I agreed to let her stay at WongRiver Pavilion. I’m sorry that you thought it was more than that. Ava and I are not in a relationship, and that will not change in the future either.”
There was a sharp pain in Ava’s heart when he said that in such a cold way!
They had lived together for more than two months. Everyone thought she was his woman! Which man and woman would live together without that kind of relationship? That was too much!
‘Is he angry? Is he angry with what I’m doing right now?’
“Michael, I’m sorry, I… I will explain it to you.” She still maintained that Eldest Young Master Williams had said those things because he was angry at her.
“Grandfather, I’m not feeling well. Please send me to the hospital.”
Old Master Garcia glanced at Michael, but the latter was very calm about it.
Joseph looked at him too. They were both men, so he knew what he meant. Michael had told the truth, he had no interest in Ava.
They thought a marriage between the Garcia and the Williams families would benefit both parties, but it seemed like that would not happen. Eldest Young Master Williams was not interested in Ava at all.
“Grandfather, let’s go,” Joseph reminded the older man.
Old Master Garcia was a little disappointed because he genuinely liked the young man.
Joseph opened the car door, and Old Master Garcia and Ava got into the car.
As Joseph was about to take the front seat, Elena went to him and whispered something to his ear, and Joseph nodded at her.
Then, Elena continued, and Joseph nodded again. He only got in the car after that. The vehicle was designed to be soundproof, so Ava could not hear what was said between them.
After Joseph got in the car, the driver immediately drove away. Ewan also got into another car and followed them in it.
As soon as their car left WongRiver Pavilion, Ava asked, “Eldest Cousin Brother, what did Elena tell you just now?”
She was so anxious, so anxious! Even though Elena could not have told him anything useful in such a short period. Anyway, she was still concerned about it.
“Nothing much, she only said that you have a short temper, and asked me to take good care of you,” Joseph said with a smile.
“Really…nothing else?” Ava stared at his side profile as she scrutinized his every expression.
“What else was there to be said?” It was Joseph’s turn to be surprised when she sounded so calm. He turned around and looked at her. “Your stomach isn’t painful anymore?”
Old Master Garcia stared at her half-drenched face and asked, “Ava, no more pain?”
“Still…still a little.”
Ava covered her stomach with her hands. Even though she felt relieved, she was still a little anxious about it.
“Grandfather, I… I want to go back to City L. Let’s go back, Grandfather.”
“Why do you want to leave so suddenly?”
Old Master Garcia was a bit confused. When he suggested that they should go back to City L, the girl had refused. She wanted to stay a few more days in Bentson. It seemed like she had changed her mind again.
“Grandfather, I just want to go to City L. Let’s go back now, shall we?”
“Not before your checkup at the hospital.” Old Master Garcia was worried about her health.
“No…there’s no need! It would be great to go back now! I will feel better once I get home!”
Ava clutched Old Master Garcia’s arm tightly and said, “Grandfather, let’s go home now? Please? Pretty please?”
Old Master Garcia would have agreed to that if she had suggested that earlier. He was there to bring his granddaughter home, anyway. However, another face surfaced in his mind.
It was the image of that young girl, Elena.
Why did he feel like she would be torn from him if they were to head back home?
He still wished to see the child again. Even if he had to return home, he would at least set an appointment to have her visit him in City L. Not a casual visit either, but a mandatory one.
He did not get the chance to tell Elena that…he did not wish to leave.
“Grandfather, what’s wrong with you? I thought you came here to bring me home?”
Ava got even more anxious when Old Master Garcia stayed silent.
Why did he behave so strangely?
“Grandfather…”
“Alright.” Old Master Garcia did not know what else to do, so he looked at Joseph and quietly said, “Let’s go back to City L.”
