Chapter 313 That Was Also My Purpose

Elena did not want to give him any explanations. She walked toward Henry and immediately went to his side.
“Why have you only come to see me now? I was here all alone…”
“What nonsense is that? Isn’t Big Brother here with you?”
Henry carried two large bags with him, and so, he could not free his hands. He could only look at Michael.
“Help her, don’t let her fall.”
Michael would never let his woman fall. He kept his pace and had trailed behind her when she rushed toward Henry. However, Elena’s words made him feel a little guilty.
“I have been training in the morning, so I had no time to accompany her. It’s good that you’re here. You can take care of her on my behalf.”
Henry glanced at him with a dissatisfied look. “You’re always throwing your woman at me. Aren’t you afraid that I’ll run away with her?”
“Well, we can talk about that when you have what it takes to do that.”
Michael had a look of disdain on his face. He hugged his woman tightly and announced domineeringly, “Go eat!”
Henry walked behind them, and Henry was also there. When he looked at the two figures ahead of them, Henry felt a complex array of emotions. His eldest brother was different from before. He not only loved to smile, but he also knew how to be gentle.
Despite his tenderness, the man was still quite masculine. It had reached a point where he did not even know how to control his own strength. He could see that his eldest brother treated the woman with care and tenderness. Compared to the once cold and impersonal Eldest Brother, the man had more passions and desires; he looked much more alive as a person.
However, Elena had always been his weakness …
“How is it? Does the dish taste good? If you don’t like it—”
“I do.” Elena nodded and said nothing more.
She had to sit between Michael and Henry, so it was a little uncomfortable for her. Michael picked up on her uneasiness. He did not understand the woman’s mind, however, so he could not guess her thoughts.
After lunch, Michael had only one hour to rest in his room. Henry had returned to his own place, so Henry kept them company. However, it seemed like one of the men had some objections about it.
“You can come back later.” Michael looked at Henry—who was seated cross-legged at one side—in dismay.
“I thought you wanted me to keep your woman company? I’m here, and yet you are dismissing me? What’s the meaning of this? Isn’t my time precious too?”
Seriously? He was still the Sharp’s family’s second young master—the Sharp’s second-in-command! When Michael called him, did he ever think about Henry’s feelings?
Elena stared at Henry, and she looked unhappy with what he had just said.
“Your time is precious, so, does that mean that I’m not precious?”
Henry was stunned into silence. Did he hear wrongly? Did Elena really say that? She would never have said such coquettish words!
He was momentarily stunned, and then he curled his lips and said with a smile, “Of course you’re precious. I’m here, aren’t I? I’m using actions to prove that you are more important than anyone else, are you satisfied now?”
“Really?” Elena grinned.
Henry stopped short of swearing an oath. “Yes, it’s true!”
Elena was finally content. She opened the bag that he had brought and found her favorite snack. Those snacks were not too heaty. He really did take the time to pick them.
Michael huffed and objected, “What the hell are you talking about? Do you think I’m dead?”
Why did the conversation feel more and more out of place? How could the two of them have such a good relationship with each other?
“Your woman likes to joke around. Why are you shouting? Be careful not to scare the baby in her belly.”
Henry’s words made Michael’s annoyance disappear. Why did the joke sound so uncomfortable?
Had he gone crazy? One was his friend while the other was his woman. What was the harm in a joke? He must have been a bit too angsty lately, and he had no idea why it had happened.
“I’m just kidding.”
Although he felt a little wronged, he was afraid that his bad attitude would scare Elena and the child in her stomach. No matter how angry he was, it was best to keep it to himself.
“I’m going to prepare now. I’ll take my comrades to train right after this. You can let this guy accompany you to go around the compound, but don’t go too far.”
“Got it.” Elena only wanted to eat, and she did not seem to mind whether or not he would leave immediately.
Eldest Young Master Williams suddenly felt even more dejected. He thought she would ask him to stay, and should that happen, he would stay with her for a little while longer.
However, she simply nodded without even another look at him. Apparently, snacks were more important to her!
Eldest Young Master Williams felt discouraged, but since he already said that he had to leave, it did not make sense for him to stay there. It was not his style to do that at all.
He hesitated, but the girl continued to ignore him as she focused on her snacks. Finally, Michael stood up and left the room.
Eldest Young Master Williams was angry, and so, he wanted to slam the door shut. However, he managed to stop in time, and he closed the door gently behind him. He did not want to startle Elena.
It was the first time Henry had seen his big brother so cautious and considerate.
“What’s the matter?” After Eldest Young Master Williams left, Henry looked at the girl in the chair with a frown. “Did the two of you fight?”
Elena held a dried plum in her hand. Her movements stopped for a moment before she brought the plum to her lips and took a bite.
“What the hell happened? You’ve never joked with me like that. Why would you do that in front of Big Brother all of a sudden?”
It was not a question of whether he had what it took to do it, but Elena would never do such an immature thing. Henry would never believe that it was unintentional.
Elena realized that he understood her more than she did herself. She looked at the dried plums in her hand and thought for a long time before she said, “If I asked you for help…”
“Did Henry come to you?”
Elena looked at him with a stun expression on her face.
Henry laughed a little helplessly. “What if I told you that I approached you for the same purpose as Henry? What would you do?”
“What else could I do?” It had made sense when she thought about it. She finally found her answers to some of the questions in her mind. She had been right; he had a motive when he approached her. However, Elena was not mad about that at all.
They did it for Eldest Young Master Williams.
“If I told you to continue with that purpose now, would you still be willing to do it?” she asked.
If she had asked him that question more than a month ago, Henry would not need to think about that at all. He had never wanted her to be with his big brother. Then, his eyes gazed at her abdomen.
It took him a while before he asked, “Are you sure?”
Elena caressed her stomach, and there was a ray of maternal love in her eyes. However, there was also stubbornness and determination in her.
“I’m sure.”
