Henry sneered and squeezed his palms tightly. “He worked hard to build his own company, but to protect you, he accepted the old man’s conditions and gave up everything to the old man!”
His eyes were cold, and he approached Elena with slow steps.
“He had always been high and mighty, and he never once bowed his head to anyone. But for you, he returned to the old man’s side and followed his instructions!”
Elena was forced to retreat when he got closer to her.
“He is a businessman, and yet he provoked Paradise Island for you. He not only ceded his ground as compensation; he even suffered humiliation for you!
“And now, to keep you safe in the future, he even had to go to Aryastan to form a mercenary regiment, so that he could deal with Paradise Island’s people!”
He did everything for that woman. In Henry’s opinion, she was not only a killer but also a ticking time bomb. At some point in time, it would ignite and blow his eldest brother to pieces!
“Do you know how dangerous Aryastan is now? Do you know how difficult it was to deal with those people?”
Even though his eldest brother had returned safely, the injuries he suffered along the way was not something that woman could ever fathom!
“Eldest Brother already had everything prepared, but that phone call—that one single phone call from you—made him put down everything and rush back from the war immediately.
“Do you even know how much hardship and difficulty he had to go through? He had two bullets taken out of him on the plane! Did you even see those knife wounds on his body?”
Elena hit the wooden post behind her with a thud. There was a hint of pain in her lower abdomen, but she simply clenched her fist tightly and endured it.
She did not know about it and had not seen it. During those few days, Michael never took off his clothes when he was with her. Even though she could smell disinfectant on him, she thought it was because they had been in a hospital. She never thought that the disinfectant was used on his wounds.
The two bullets were taken out on the plane because he had to rush back to see her, right?
Also, the knife wounds…
Her gaze darted past Henry and landed on the figure in the distance.
He stood in the crowd and trained with his comrades. There was nothing out of the ordinary in his physique.
He tried hard to recuperate in just four days. No one could tell the extent of his injuries!
“Do you see it?” Henry also turned around to watch the figure on the training ground with her.
His ever-present coldness softened the moment he laid eyes on his eldest brother.
“I’ve never seen such a crazy side of him. To think he would do that for a woman!”
“The injuries on his body are more serious than you think. In addition to monetary compensation, those mercenaries would look up to their boss too.”
“If Eldest Brother isn’t strong enough or doesn’t have the power to subdue those people, they would not place their confidence in him.”
Even if he was wounded all over, and even if the wound could split open again at any time, he remained expressionless when he trained with his team. He wanted them to see his brave and powerful side so that they would believe in him completely!
A brother like him made Henry proud. The prerequisite was that his eldest brother must do what was needed for his own future, not for some woman!

Whether intentional or otherwise, active or passive, the bottom line was that she could not rid herself of that burden! Elena’s hand subconsciously moved to her lower abdomen and gently covered it.
When he saw what she did, Henry did not have the heart to say anything else. He snorted coldly and walked away.
Elena did not know how long she sat in front of the cabin. Everyone there was in one training or another, and Henry later joined the team too.
Michael was utterly absorbed in leading the team’s specialized training. Elena also purposefully sat in front of the cabin’s other wall, so Michael would not see her.
Michael had not realized that she was out of the room for more than an hour already.
When it was time for their break at noontime, Michael returned to the room, drenched in sweat, and discovered that his woman was gone. Eldest Young Master Williams rushed out of the room in a hurry. Just as he went downstairs, he saw Elena stood alone in the open space in front of the grove.
“Why didn’t you ask someone to inform me when you woke up?” Michael felt distressed by her lonely silhouette.
She should have gained weight with her pregnancy, but it seemed like she got thinner. How much did that girl usually eat?
“Are you hungry? I’ll have someone prepare lunch immediately.”
Elena wanted to say that she was not hungry, but her stomach started to growl, and she did feel starved. She got hungry easily, even though she had not had a good appetite.
Perhaps it was because of her pregnancy, which would become more evident in the future. That was why women would only grow larger during their pregnancy.
Michael imagined a fatter Elena, and he felt excited at that prospect. It was better for her to be more plump anyway. She was too thin, and it was as if the wind could topple her at any time.
If he did not pay attention to her himself, he was afraid that something might happen to her. When it was about her, he had no sense of security at all.
“Let’s go. We’ll eat.” He wanted to hold her hand, but Elena retracted her hand and avoided his contact.
Michael frowned. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.” She did not want to tell him that she seemed to bring him bad luck as soon as she touched him.
She bit her lip and said, “You’re… dirty. It’ll affect my appetite…”
“Oh, I’ll go and change my clothes immediately.” Eldest Young Master Williams liked to smile during those few days. It was as though his mood was particularly buoyant.
He was less cold than previously and had much more warmth. Was it because he would be a father soon? Elena could sense that he really looked forward to the child’s arrival even though the child was an accidental conception.
Back in the room, Michael took a clean set of clothes and went into the bathroom. Elena stood at the door of the bathroom and listened to the movements inside. The sound of trickling water made her heart twinge like mad.
She wanted to barge in to see the wounds on his body, but she knew that it would not change anything even if she saw them.
Their specialized training would not stop. Otherwise, everyone would not have confidence in him.
It was one of the most critical moments in the formation of Eldest Young Master Williams’s army. After all, he was the true leader of a wolf pack!
