“Why won’t you believe in me?” Her voice caught Henry by surprise.
When he looked at her again, she still had her eyes closed, and it seemed like she was asleep.
They were no longer exchanging looks, and the smile on her lips was also completely gone. She did not smile at him; it was only his illusion.
“Why won’t you believe me?” Elena still mumbled in her sleep. “Eldest Young Master Williams…”
Henry sighed and quickly returned to his seat and pressed his eyes closed. He thought he could stop the illusions if he did not look at her. However, he did not expect that she was all he could think about when he closed his eyes—her smiles when she was happy, her long faces when she was sad, her triumphant looks when she was confident, her loneliness when she was alone…
He only had her in his mind!
Suddenly, Henry opened the door and got out of the car. He felt so irritable that he wanted a smoke, but he had dropped that habit, and therefore, he did not have any cigarettes with him. He had completely stopped smoking when he started to spend more time with her. He thought she would be irritated by the smoke. He exchanged that habit with storing various snacks and drinks in the car.
He had turned his life around, and he did not even realize it. He also willingly became a babysitter! Was that something Second Young Master Sharp would usually do? It was incredible!
Henry leaned against the door and stared at the sea in the distance. He was not sure how much time had passed when the window suddenly wound down. He frowned and turned to look at the girl in the car.
She rubbed her eyes and looked at him. “I have found a way out. Thank you for this trip. Let’s go home.”
Home! The word hit him hard! Did she refer to his apartment as her home? Elena did not notice the strange look on Henry. She had called it home because that was where they lived. It was unintentional. However, it made Henry anxious.
“What… do you want to eat?” Henry asked as he drove on the road. Elena glanced at herself with a disgusted look. “Are you sure you want to go out for dinner with me like this?”
He had done well when he brought her to the beach. She was so sad that she cried her heart out. After that, she looked at the sea and realized that there was more than one way out. She could always look for another way out.
“So what do you want to do? Go back and change first?” Henry did not know what was in her mind, but she was more cheerful after her short nap.
“My eyes are swollen. I don’t want to go out looking like this…”
“Takeaway, then?” That was the only thing he could think of.
“No, I want home-cooked dishes.” She had not had home-cooked meals for a long time.
“That’s good. I want to try your cooking too.” He made a turn and headed straight for Sharp Corporation.
“No, I want to eat your cooking. I haven’t tried that before.”
Elena thought for a while and happily announced, “Tonight, I will try Second Young Master Sharp’s cooking!”
Henry felt like things had blurred, and his hands shook. He almost lost his grip on the steering wheel too.
“Eat my cooking?” Did he hear that right?
When had he ever cooked in his life?
“Relax, I will be your sous chef. I won’t let you work on your own.” Elena smiled at him.
“But I…”
“Are you not willing to agree to such a simple request” Elena pulled a face.
She looked at him with disappointment as if he had done something unforgivable. Henry immediately gave in to her pout.
“Really, no? Second Young Master… Second Young Master Sharp… Henry… Little Henry…”
Henry was speechless.
“Little Henry…”
“Shut up!” What a lousy nickname!
“Hey, it looks like you love the name Little Henry. Can I call you this from now on?”
He had no words for her.
“Little Henry…”
“Fine, I’ll do it, alright?”
So, one hour later, the great Second Young Master Sharp put on the apron that he just bought. Without warning, a click sounded from behind him; someone had taken a photograph of him!
“What are you doing?” Henry suddenly panicked. That girl! Where did she want to send the photo to?
“I’m not sending it to anyone. I just want to commemorate this amazing moment. Why are you panicking?”
It was just a photo of him in an apron, was it not? Could he not accept that?
“Actually, you look very handsome. Very homely. Hmm… The definition of handsome!”
Elena stared at the screen of her mobile phone. The more she looked at it, the better looking she thought he was.
“I have to make it into a poster and put it up in my room. You looked so handsome!”
“How dare you!” That crazy girl! If she dared to do that, he might have to chop her up with a knife! Elena looked at the knife in his hand as she shrunk her neck in fright.
“Why are you so fierce? Are you… trying to bully me?” Her face gradually darkened, and her mouth went flat again.
Henry had to take his hat off for her. He knew that she pretended to be weak, but he could not handle it.
“Fine, I won’t hack you. I’ll just cut myself instead.”
“That won’t work either. I don’t want to eat fingers.”
Henry did not reply to her.
He had never served a princess before, but he might not be as tired as he felt then. An hour later, there were three dishes on the table, but all were charred black. Elena could not even tell what they were.
“I thought you’re making braised pork and sweet and sour pork ribs?”
Where was the meat? Where were the ribs? What were those long strips of things on the plates? Elena stared at the plates and frowned. She had only gone for a shower; what had happened?
Henry shifted around uncomfortably. He did not know how that happened. The food was raw, and the next second, it had turned charcoal. Elena fiddled with a piece of black charcoal with her chopsticks; the meat inside was still raw! It was disgusting!
She tried a piece from another plate and finally found the pork ribs—bloodied, black, and charcoal-like. She almost threw up. The third plate was slightly better because it was a vegetable dish; at least there was no blood on it. However, she thought she saw dead bugs in it.
“Did you wash the vegetables?” She covered her stomach; she was almost at her breaking point.
“The vegetables? They were in the box, has it not been washed?”
The vegetables bought from the supermarket were packed nicely in a container. That was the first time he had dealt with such a thing in his life. Did it need to be washed?
“I…”
“Hmm…” Elena felt nauseous. She threw her chopsticks down, turned, and ran to the bathroom.
“What’s wrong?” Henry immediately put down his chopsticks and followed her.
Before he got into the bathroom, he heard her puked her guts out. Were his dishes so revolting?
It made her vomit!
