Levi subconsciously stepped on the brake pedal when he saw Elena in Dylan’s car. The car stopped with a squeak. Dylan’s driver quickly stopped the car, too, before he got down and went to greet Eldest Young Master Williams. Levi promptly walked to the back of Dylan’s car and knocked on the window.
Dylan wound down the window and asked impatiently, “What’s the matter?”
“Second Young Master.” Levi greeted him and turned to Elena immediately. “Young Madam… Miss Elena, why are you…”
He looked at Dylan again, his face puzzled. Why was Elena in the second young master’s car? Did the second young master attack her? Elena knew what was in his mind. After all, Dylan had been insufferable to her in the past. She had not wanted to get into Dylan’s car that night. If it were the old Dylan, she would be too insecure about being so close to him. She gave in because of Sarah. Plus, she also needed a ride to leave the mansion.
“It’s okay. Eldest Madam invited me to dinner. The second young master is just sending me home.” Elena explained.
The other car’s window wound down too. Michael’s face appeared, and his cold eyes looked at her as if other people were invincible. Elena pulled herself up straight and met his gaze with indifference. The Eldest Young Master Williams that she saw that night was no longer the same person she had known from before. He had become much colder and unapproachable, and she also noticed Ava’s presence in the car. Michael’s slender fingers tapped on the car door.
Levi went back to him immediately and then returned after two seconds. He looked at Dylan said, “Second Young Master, Eldest Young Master would like to invite you to WongRiver Pavilion for a cup of tea.”
“Sorry, tell Eldest Brother that I have something important to do. I’ll send Elena home first.”
Dylan knew what was Michael’s mind. He also thought it was not wise to have any conflict with his eldest brother. However, since Michael already had Ava, he might not fight over Elena with Dylan.
Dylan looked at Levi. “Go on and tell Eldest Brother that I will see him later.”
“Sorry, Second Young Master, Eldest Young Master has some important matters to discuss with you. Please head over there now.”
“I told you that I have important things to do.” Dylan was a little agitated.
His brother had always used his position as the eldest young Master Williams to subdue him. Dylan had always felt inferior and afraid, but it was no longer the case. Why would he be frightened? He had nothing to lose. Michael already had control over Williams Corporation. He had lost all hope, and so he would not mind losing his position as the general manager at Williams Corporation! Once he was no longer obsessed with those things, Dylan felt a sudden relief of a burden. He could even live a carefree life if he wanted to do that.
Dylan looked at the driver and ordered, “Let’s go.”
“Yes, Second Young Master.”
The driver started the car and drove away, right before Levi and Michael.
“Eldest Young Master, Second Young Master said that… he wants to send Miss Elena back to school.”
Levi watched as the car left. Sweat beaded on his forehead; he was afraid that the eldest young master would vent his anger on himself. Although the second young master was usually quite cynical, he also had respect for the eldest young master. Why did it look like Dylan was no longer afraid of the eldest young master since he took over as the CEO of Williams Corporation? Was he not scared of losing his general manager post?
Michael did not say anything, but he also did not order him to continue to drive, either. Levi was very confused!
As for Ava, she was angry to see Dylan and Elena together! Was he still mad at her? Did he look for Elena to tick her off because she got together with Eldest Young Master Williams? Why was he so naive? She was angry at his behavior, but what could she do? Dylan might not be as good a catch as Eldest Young Master Williams, but he was also a young master from the Williams family, a precious young master! How could he hang out with a cheapskate and ugly woman like Elena?
She would have to offer the second young master some other benefits. Even though she already had Eldest Young Master Williams, she could stand to see other outstanding men land their eyes on some other women. Even if they did that out to make her jealous, she would never allow it, either! Ava pursed her lower lip and lifted her head. She saw Levi was still outside the car. As for Eldest Young Master Williams, he remained in his posture with his hand on the window. However, he looked as though he was in deep thoughts.
“Michael, shall we go back?” She said that to Michael, but it was a reminder for Levi.
Everyone else had left, so why were they still there?
Levi looked at Michael. “Eldest Young Master…”
Michael looked down and lit a cigarette. On second thought, Levi immediately took out his phone to send a text message. After that, he returned to the car, started the engine, and drove into the WongRiver Pavilion’s garage.
Michael got out of the car and walked straight into the hall. He took long strides, so when Elena finally got out of the car, he was already far away. Ava stomped her feet in anger because she could not catch up with him. How dare Michael not wait for her! Did he not know she was in heels and so she could not walk as fast as him?
Levi walked beside her and said, “Miss Garcia, please.”
Ava glared at him. When would he address her as Young Madam? He used to greet that ugly duckling, Elena, as Young Madam in the past!
“Who did you send the message to?”
Ava noticed it, but she did not ask while Michael was with them.
“Sorry, Miss Garcia, that is my personal matter. I do not have to report it to you,” Levi said coldly.
Even if it was a business matter, there was still no need for him to report it to her. After all, she was not his boss! Ava knew that Levi did not like her. He did not have any respect for her, either. She wondered what she had done to tick him off.
“Levi, watch that attitude!” she said in a displeased tone.
Levi was perplexed. “Miss Garcia, how is my attitude a problem for you?”
Was it necessary to report his personal life to her?
“Don’t you know that Michael had promised Grandmother to take care of me forever?”
Ava was not afraid to state things clearer so that the man would not be rude to her.
However, Levi gave her an odd look. “And?”
“And?” Ava’s face sank as she stared at him! “Are you doing it on purpose?”
Levi shrugged. He did not know why she would think that about him. Ava could not wait to kick him!
She said, “I will tell you again. Michael had promised Grandmother that he would take care of me for as long as he lives!
“That means, I will be the mistress of WongRiver Pavilion eventually! I hope you will be more respectful of me!”
Levi felt that as if they did not have the same understanding of the matter.
“How does Eldest Young Master’s promise to take care of you relate to the position as the lady of the house?”
“Levi!” He had definitely done that on purpose! That was intentional!
Levi coughed softly and pulled a serious face, but he did not mean that as a joke
“Miss Garcia, I hope you can understand the difference between the eldest young master’s promise to take care of you and you becoming the lady of the house.”
“You…”
“At least, before the eldest young master agrees to marry you, please… don’t make a joke of yourself?”
