“Layla, why are you taking photos?” Lois whispered as she leaned into Layla on the buggy.
“Nothing. It looks beautiful here, that’s all.”
Layla quickly put away her phone and sat upright. They were on a buggy with Second Young Master Sharp. All of them were on edge, and none of them dared to make too much noise lest they annoyed Henry. Ashton chuckled at their uptightness.
“Feel free to talk or take pictures. Our second young master has always been a good-tempered person and treats people well…”
He finished the sentence with some restraint. The same second young master had told a young lady off just moments ago. He even threw careless remarks like ‘What the heck was that?’. It did not seem as if he was a good-tempered person.
Ashton cleared his throat before he said, “Well, except for occasional encounters. Most of the time, Second Young Master Sharp is easygoing, so please don’t be afraid.”
Layla and Lois smiled shyly at him, but they still dared not talk willfully. He was Second Young Master Sharp, after all, their major shareholder. They should act prim and proper around him at all times.
They thought back on Ava’s reaction as Second Young Master Sharp berated her and when he said ‘What the heck was that?’ to her.
From that moment on, Layla and Lois vowed to work hard and be committed to their boss in the future, so that he would not suffer any losses! His words and action had completely subdued those two young ladies!
However, Elena was quiet as she looked out at the buildings ahead.
“What’s the matter? Not in a good mood?” Henry raised an eyebrow.
Had that girl finally realized that another woman had snatched her man? She had behaved so calm and collected before that. It was apparent that she had put up a brave front for him, was she not? Elena did not seem to hear his question, but she knew that he had spoken to her.
She returned his look with a serious expression. “From my understanding of Ava, she would definitely go back and set up an animation company immediately.”
“Huh? What do you mean? Are you talking about the woman just now?”
However, it did not seem like she meant the relationship between that woman and Michael. Instead, she was talking about the animation company. Why was that? She did not think about love affairs, indeed.
Elena had analyzed the situation professionally. “Williams Corporation and Sharp Corporation are the two largest business entities in Bentson.
“If both companies were to venture into the animation industry at the same time, the public would definitely label the latecomer as a copycat.”
Henry did not say anything. Instead, he just stared at her. How could she remain so calm at that point? She was so impersonal. Everyone could see that the woman just now had a relationship with Eldest Young Master Williams. Was Elena blind? It did not seem like that was the case. She was probably more worried about her career than her personal relationships.
Henry was not sure if that was a good or bad thing for his big brother. It was good that she was not clingy after the breakup. But her indifference was a blow to a man’s ego and self-esteem. Henry suddenly felt bad for his big brother.
“Second Young Master, are you listening to me?” Elena frowned and looked at him straight in the eyes.
“You may continue.” Henry pulled himself together. He must not behave so unprofessionally in front of her.
“I mean, we must make hay when the sun is hot. We should hold a press conference tonight and announce the set up of an animation company this evening. We can hold a dinner party at the same time too!”
“Tonight?” Everyone stared at her in shock.
Even Henry furrowed his eyebrows. That same night? Why were they in such a hurry?
Layla immediately asked, “Elena, we have the money, but we do not have enough people.”
Did they want to look like a bogus company? They had money and an office but no employees!
“If we hold the press release today, we will have staff and new recruits by tomorrow.”
She did not see it as a huge problem. If they have money, then anything is possible. She knew where to go if she wanted to recruit more talents into her team. If they were to go ahead with the press release that evening, then the media would flood the company to interview the new department the very next day. They could delay the interview for a little while, but not for long. Everyone would be suspicious if they postponed it for too long.
“Why do we have to do it tonight?” Lois thought that Elena’s decision was too risky and rash.
“Even if Ava were to set up an animation department in Williams Corporation immediately, it would take them some time to establish such a big department.”
“You underestimate Eldest Young Master Williams’s influence in Williams Corporation.”
Elena might not have spent much time with Michael in her new life, but she had spent five years with him in her previous lifetime.
“If Eldest Young Master Williams were to make a decision today, he would be able to put up the department today too.”
“That is true.” Henry agreed with her on that point. She seemed to know his big brother very well.
“Then…” Layla and Lois got worried.
“Would Ava get Eldest Young Master Williams to set up an animation department now?”
“No, because when Eldest Young Master Williams is at work, his schedule is so tight that Ava would not be able to see him.”
Michael might have felt sorry for Ava, but he would always keep his private affairs separate from his business dealings.
If he were at work, he would not have a spare minute to deal with trivial issues. Ava would not be able to insist on his immediate attention to help her to set up an animation department.
Ava would probably speak to Michael that night, and she would then be at Williams Corporation the next day to get the funds allocated for her project. It would probably happen the next day.
Henry did not say anything. He looked like he was in deep thoughts.
Then the buggy arrived in front of a building. All of them got off the carriage and went into the lobby.
However, the building was empty. Why was that?
“This used to be one of our warehouse buildings. We’ve cleared all the things in here last night when Second Young Master decided to cooperate with you.”
Ashton brought them around the space and then led them up to each level in the building.
“The first seven floors have the same structure, with the design of a factory building.
“The top three floors are reserved for the offices. The layouts are similar to the main building, only slightly smaller.
“The rest of the floors would remain a warehouse.”
“Mr. Ashton, do you mean that the ten floors vacated are now for our department’s use?”
Ashton nodded. The group of friends was flabbergasted. Layla and Lois checked out all corners of the building at the fastest speed possible. They panted and sweated profusely when they were back with their friends.
“Elena, this area is huge! Each floor is at least 3000 square feet!”
Even though they knew that Sharp Corporation would not allocate a small space for them, they had not expected it to be that huge. Three thousand square feet on each floor, which meant that they had 30, 000 square feet overall! Even Elena was dumbfounded.
Henry looked at her as his thin lips curled into a smile. “Now, these ten floors are still empty.”
“If we hold a dinner party tonight, I can assure you that countless reporters will be here tomorrow morning for an interview. Do you want to show everyone an empty building?”
His eyes shone with a mysterious luster. It looked like a smile, and yet not a smile.
“What do you think, Elena? Do you still want to hold a press release and dinner party tonight?”
