All eyes were immediately set on Henry, but he still looked natural and poised. Then he rose to his feet and walked toward Elena.
“Hello, may I sit here?”
Layla got up hurriedly and urged everyone to shift slightly to the side to make room for that extremely handsome guy.
Elena blinked. “But we don’t know you.”
Although he was remarkably handsome and it was really difficult to turn him down, they still did not know each other. However, Henry sat down next to Elena after Layla brought him a chair.
“It doesn’t matter. I know the demon that you are with.”
“Hack!” Elena was nearly choked to death by the sip of the drink she had taken.
He knew Eldest Young Master Williams? She took another look at their new guest, and he did look like the type of people who belonged to her fiancé’s world. Why was he there? She had mentioned Michael, and he must have heard her. Would he tell on her? Elena threw Henry a cautious look.
“There’s no need to panic; I probably won’t repeat that word to him.” Henry took the cup from the waiter.
His slender, jade-like fingers squeezed gently around the cup; his movements were so inexplicably elegant that they were a fascination for anyone who looked at him. However, did he say probably? Did that mean he might mention it to Eldest Young Master Williams as well?
Elena scrutinized him mockingly. “How could a man tell tales behind one’s back?”
“Ah.” The girl was interesting.
It was obvious that she was a rare beauty when he looked at her from afar. However, when he got closer, he noticed that not only her skin was dull, her face was also full of freckles. Then again, his big brother had claimed that she was a beauty, so she must be one. Perhaps the freckles and dull complexion were a form of make-up disguise.
Layla tried to give Elena a nudge with her eyes. How could she be so rude? That was not her usual behavior, especially when the man seemed like a righteous and charismatic person. It did not look like he posed any harm to them either. Elena was too much. Lois also felt that Elena’s attitude was not appropriate. The most important thing was that he was really handsome! How could she treat an attractive guy so maliciously?
“Lil’ sister, let’s be friends?”
“You shall not covet your friend’s wife. Have you not heard of that?”
It was best to keep a distance from the people who were related to Eldest Young Master Williams. Elena was not interested in making friends or anything along that line. So, the girl decided to be repulsive instead.
However, Henry was not angry at all. Instead, he laughed. “I heard that you are working on comics.”
“Yeah, are you also interested in comics?” Lois was particularly sensitive to business opportunities. From first glance, it was obvious that the man was from an affluent family. If he were interested in what they had planned to do, then it would be a great business opportunity for them. Of course, it was not like he would work on the comics himself. It was a hard and tiring job with a limited profit margin!
Henry locked his gaze onto Elena. “Do you need any capital investment?”
“Of course!” Lois quipped immediately.
Elena remained silent. It was not that she did not want to pitch for more funding; it was what she needed the most. However, the man was a friend of Eldest Young Master Williams. Even if he were to invest in them, he only did it out of a favor for the eldest young master. She would be separated from Michael in two years, so she was not keen to rely on such fundings.
She shook her head, decisively. “Even though we do need investment, we also have strict requirements for our investors. We will not accept funds from investors who know nothing about comics and animations, or from those with no intentions to develop these businesses.”
“Oh.” Henry could not hide his surprise smile.
The girl wanted to draw a line with Michael. After she realized that he was a friend of Michael’s, she had been giving him strange looks. He knew that his big brother would have a hard time courting his wife.
He was curious about why Michael’s charms were not enough to move that girl’s heart, and why would she take the initiative to alienate herself from him? Was Eldest Young Master Williams not the ladies’ most desired Prince Charming in Bentson? Henry was further intrigued by Elena’s resistance toward Michael.
“Why would you think that I know nothing about comics and animations?”
Henry placed the cup on the table. Since he failed to convince Elena, he turned to Lois, who sat beside him.
“I have an entertainment corporation, and there is an entire department dedicated to animation development. Maybe that could persuade you.”
“Really? That’s too…”
“There is no need for that.” Elena immediately interrupted Lois.
Her gaze landed on the cup that Henry had placed on the table.
“We don’t need to create animations just yet. In fact, we are not even qualified to work for you, so it’s unnecessary.”
“Perhaps one day, when we have built our skills and are more prepared to work with you, we can revisit this conversation then.”
“As for now,” she said as she stared at his cup, “I’m afraid this kind of place is not suitable for you. I don’t think you could even sip the tea they serve here.”
“In that case, it does not matter why you are here; you may leave now.”
“Elena…”
Lois and Layla frowned at once. How could they miss out on such an excellent opportunity?
Luacs looked calm, but his eyes were locked onto Henry as well. “Please!”
Did they mean to chase him away? That boy looked like he could fight. However, it seemed like he had no choice but to leave. It would not be helpful to start a fight at the stall. Henry stood up and rolled his eyes at the cup of tea that he had laid down earlier. He was doubtful about the environment and the cleanliness of the stall, so he was not willing to taste the food there. However, when Elena exposed him, he thought he could drink and dine there, but he knew that was not the right time to do that.
“Lil’ thing, we will meet again.”
He left immediately after he said that. His long legs took elegant steps, which drew countless exclaims of admiration around them. As he went further away, Layla and Lois sighed and then glared furiously at Elena.
“What’s the matter with you? You aren’t usually so rude,” Layla muttered.
Lois lamented the lost opportunity. “They have an animation department, and that’s a golden opportunity!”
“You believe that a pie would just fall from the sky?” Caleb glanced at her.
Caleb trusted Elena. If she refused to cooperate, then she must have had a valid reason. Lois also knew that there was no free lunch in the world, but she could not figure it out.
“We don’t have the money nor beautiful women among us.”
Her gaze swept from Layla to Elena and then back to herself before she shook her head dejectedly.
“It’s safe to say that he did not come over here to pick up girls.”
“That would make things even weirder, would it not?”
Elena did not want to explain too much to them, as she did not want to say another word about Eldest Young Master Williams. Layla seemed to have noticed that also. After all, she knew about the relationship between Elena and Eldest Young Master Williams. She understood Elena’s concerns.
“Okay, okay, let’s not dwell on this anymore. Let’s discuss how we can rush a storyline in the next half a month.”
“I will give you the script after our class tomorrow morning.” Elena looked at Aryan assuringly.
Time was not their friend. That night was the last night of their indulgences. They would have to work extra hard from the very next morning onward! As everyone else continued to eat and drink, Elena occasionally raised her head to peek at the restaurants on the other side of the street. The handsome guy had appeared out of nowhere and the helpless feeling of being preyed by the cheetah…
Eldest Young Master Williams—had he been watching her from a distance?
