Mia could not believe her eyes. What were those photos! It was impossible!
“Those are fake!” She yelled helplessly at the people around her when she finally regained her senses.
“Those are all fake! They must have been photoshopped! Don’t believe them! I’m not that kind of person. I am not!”
“I am not the woman in those photos! I… I’ve gotten great grades ever since I was young. My grades were exceptional in every single test. How could I be that kind of a person?”
“You did not even achieve the passing mark in the college entrance examination. How did you manage to get into Jiang University?” someone had whispered.
“How… How is it possible? I am a talented student. I am a high scorer!” Mia was so anxious that she had to brace herself before she could look at her phone again.
The Weibo account that exposed her scandal had posted a photo of her college entrance examination score. Her score had been more than three hundred points less from the minimum requirement of admission into Jiang University! How did such a low scorer get into Jiang University?
“But then, she has been getting great results while she’s in Jiang University…” a boy whispered.
“If she could get into Jiang University with such a low score, how hard was it to be the top student after that? She must have her ways!”
“Look, those are her high school exam grades!”
“My goodness, that is such a bad transcript! What a joke! How did that person manage to get into the same school as us?”
Jiang University was the top university in Bentson. How could they accept such a student?
“No, these have been photoshopped. Photoshopped!” Mia finally got up to her feet.
Everyone around her pointed at her with scathing remarks about her. The girls sneered, and the boys looked at her with complicated expressions on their faces. Some looked at her with disbelief while some looked as if they felt sorry for her.
However, most of them looked at her in contempt. It was as if they were looking at a clown. Some even broke into jeering laughter and evil grins.
They started to stare at her. Those stares eventually traveled up and down her body as they sized her up. She was naked in those photos, and she was in bed with a group of men as they tried different moves and positions!
She was young and frivolous back then. When her father found out what she had done, he had severely punished her. After that, her behaviors befit a rich man’s daughter, and she never repeated her past mistakes again.
So, how did that get exposed? How did they manage to dig out the videos and photos? How did they manage that?
She was so scared; she was terribly frightened! Her entire life had been ruined!
Suddenly, her cell phone rang. Her hands shook as she picked up the call. “Dad…”
“The Hill family cannot suffer such humiliation. I will disown you publicly in the newspaper. You are never to step one foot into the house again!”
“Dad! None of those photos are real! None of them…” However, there was only a long beep from the other end of the phone. Her father had hung up!
“Don’t do this. Please, don’t!” Mia was hysterical as she sat on the ground.
Suddenly, Elena’s calm face appeared in her sight. Her heart squeezed tightly, and she pointed her finger at Elena.
“It was you! B*tch, it must have been you! You must have put those pictures online! It was you, right? It must have been you!”
Mia stood up and hurled herself at Elena as she shouted frantically.
“It was you! It was you who got me into this mess. It was you!”
No one expected her to react so quickly. Elena did not even have the time to sidestep her before Mia grabbed her by the collar.
“Let go of me! What are you doing? What has this got to do with me?” Elena frowned and tried to escape from her tight clasp. “If you didn’t do all of those things, how do you explain the photos and videos?”
“Elena, it was you! You planned this. The sugar daddy behind you arranged for this to happen!”
“I don’t have a sugar daddy. Even if I really do have one, could he have planned for this since you were young?” Elena sneered, “Why don’t you take a closer look at it? How old were you in those videos?”
It did not matter how old she had been in those videos, but they had not been taken in recent times. Mia was twenty years old, and it was clear that she was the person in the videos. However, she looked to be around sixteen to seventeen years old in them.
“No! It must have been you! It was you who photoshopped the photos and made those videos!” Mia wanted to lunge toward her again, but one of the boys pushed her away.
“You said that you were forced to do live broadcasts and that you were framed, and you are a high scorer… Mia, you are so fake!”
The boy stood in front of Elena. He stared at Mia with indignation.
“You are such a fake. You pretended to be pitiful, and you even wanted to frame Elena. She may not be as beautiful as you, but you can’t go around framing other people. You must have been the one who was hurting her all along!”
“Layla almost jumped off a building because of you. Everyone saw the live broadcast that day, and Elena almost fell off the building too.”
“Are you saying that Elena arranged for that too? She planned for her own fall?”
“She risked her own life just so that she could frame you? Use her own life as a bargaining chip? How highly do you think of yourself?”
The boy had voiced out everyone else’s thoughts, but none of them dared to say it aloud. However, the truth was crystal clear when someone finally said it. It was the most logical explanation.
It was Mia’s problem from the beginning. Why did everyone think that it was Elena’s fault? Was it only because some keyboard warrior on Weibo implied that Mia made that live broadcast under duress? Why did everyone lose their senses and let a post on social media influence their judgments?
Mia had behaved naturally on the live broadcast. Which part of that was taken under duress? She had fully displayed her greed and viciousness! She had looked horrendous as she discussed to seize all of Elena’s gifts. Then, she had gone berserk when she realized that the gifts were merely paper bags.
Besides that, had she not been hospitalized because she attempted suicide? However, she had looked hale in the live broadcast, and she could even move freely. Were they stupid, or had their emotions blinded them? Why did it take so long for everyone to see the truth?
There were so many flaws in Mia’s claims that she had been forced to do the live broadcast. It seemed like they had become stupid when they saw the beautifully dressed Mia. They had been so blind!
They looked at Elena again. Even though she did not have perfect skin, she had gorgeous facial features. She had also stopped wearing heavy makeup and had not done anything out of line in a while. She seemed to have the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit. All of them stood under the sun, and for the first time, they could see that the girl was stunning.
“Elena, our class is starting soon. Let’s go.” Layla tugged Elena’s hand. Elena nodded at her before they walked toward their classroom together.
“Elena, you b*tch! Stop!” Mia wanted to catch up to her, but the boys from Ning University stopped her.
“You cannot humiliate our friends from Ning University and hope to get away with it! Return to your own university!”
“Yes! Go back to Jiang University!”
