Rachel was feeling a mix of confusion and anxiety as she made her way to the bar. She had just finished speaking to a mysterious man who had revealed information about her father’s death, and now she was getting a text from her husband, Leo, asking her to meet him at the bar. She pushed her way through the throngs of people, dodging waiters carrying trays of champagne and trying to avoid getting caught up in any conversations.
As she arrived at the bar, she looked around for Leo but couldn’t find him. She asked the bartender if he had seen Leo, but he shook his head and told her that he hadn’t seen him. She frowned and pulled out her phone to reread the text. She noticed that it had been sent from an unfamiliar number, and her heart began to race as she wondered if it was a trap.
Just then, a hand grabbed her arm and she spun around, ready to defend herself. It was a board member who had been talking to Leo earlier. He smiled at her, but there was a worried look in his eyes. “Rachel, I’m glad I found you,” he said. “I think Leo might be feeling a bit unwell. He excused himself from me a while ago and I haven’t seen him since.”
Just as they were speaking, another board member arrived at the scene.
“Excuse me Mrs. Alexander, have you seen your husband? I was talking to him earlier, but he suddenly looked quite sick,” the man asked her.
Rachel raised her eyebrows in concern. “No, I haven’t seen him. What happened?” she asked.
The board member shook his head. “I don’t know, he just seemed dizzy and lightheaded. I tried to escort him back to his room, but he walked away before I could. I thought maybe he came to meet you at the bar.”
Rachel’s heart sank at the thought of Leo not feeling well. She quickly thanked the board member for his help and excused herself. She made her way through the crowd, searching for any sign of Leo. She felt a sudden wave of worry wash over her. What if he was really sick? What if something was seriously wrong with him?
As she was walking down the hallway, she suddenly heard a faint groan coming from one of the rooms. She quickly ran towards the sound, her heart pounding in her chest. When she reached the room, she slowly pushed the door open and peeked inside. There, lying on the bed, was Leo, with a dazed look on his face.
Rachel was stunned when she saw Roseline lying over Leo. The sight before her was surreal, and she was completely taken aback. All the emotions she had been holding back, all the anger and frustration, all came boiling to the surface as she saw Roseline in a compromising position with her husband.
She couldn’t hold back any longer, and before she knew it, she had launched herself at Roseline, intent on pulling her away from Leo.
She screamed at Roseline, telling her that she had no right to be there, to be near her husband. She was shocked at how shameless Roseline could be, the extent she could go to get what she wanted.
At that moment, the bodyguards who had been discreetly following Rachel burst into the room, taking in the chaotic scene before them. They quickly stepped in, separating Rachel and Roseline and holding Roseline back as she tried to defend herself. Rachel was beyond rational thought at that point and was completely beside herself with anger.
The bodyguards called for backup, and within minutes, several more guards arrived to take Roseline away. She struggled and fought against them, but they were much stronger and managed to escort her out of the room and down the corridor.
Rachel was left alone in the room with Leo, who was lying on the bed, completely unconscious. She called for an ambulance, and within minutes, paramedics were rushing into the room, taking control of the situation. They quickly assessed Leo’s condition and determined that he needed to be taken to the hospital immediately.
Rachel was in a state of shock as she watched the paramedics work on Leo. She couldn’t believe what had just happened, and she was still filled with rage at the thought of Roseline trying to take advantage of her husband. She followed the ambulance to the hospital, still in a state of disbelief.
When they arrived at the hospital, Leo was taken into emergency care, and Rachel was left to wait in the waiting room. She sat there, lost in thought, trying to make sense of what had just happened. She couldn’t believe that Roseline had tried to take advantage of Leo, and she was filled with a mix of anger and concern for her husband’s well-being.
When she arrives, she finds Leo lying in a hospital bed, hooked up to various monitors and IVs. She approaches him and takes his hand, her heart racing with worry and fear.
“Leo, what happened? Are you okay?” Rachel asks, her voice filled with concern.
Leo opens his eyes and smiles weakly at her. “Hey, beautiful,” he says, his voice hoarse. “I’m okay, just a little shaken up.”
Rachel’s eyes fill with tears as she realizes the severity of the situation. “What happened, Leo? Why did they bring you here?” she asks.
Leo clears his throat and starts to explain what happened. “I was at the bar, talking with a board member about the fundraiser. Everything was going great, but then I started feeling dizzy and lightheaded. I excused myself and tried to make it to my room, but I stumbled along the way and someone caught me.”
Rachel’s heart sinks as she realizes what happened. “Leo, you were drugged, weren’t you?” she asks.
Leo nods and confirms her worst fears. “Yeah, Roseline admitted to spiking my drink at the bar while she held me down in the room.. She thought it would make me easier to manipulate or something like that. But she didn’t account for the fact that I have a high tolerance for alcohol and drugs, so the dosage she gave me almost killed me.”
Rachel can feel the anger and rage boiling inside her at the thought of someone trying to harm her husband. “That woman will pay for what she did,” she says, her voice full of determination. “She won’t get away with this.”
Leo smiles at her, comforted by her fierce protectiveness. “Thanks, Rachel. I knew I married the right woman.”
He had been caught off guard by Roseline’s latest move, and he wasn’t going to let it happen again. Rachel listened intently as Leo filled her in on the details.
