Celine bites on her fingers as she puts a call across to Williams. His phone is ringing but he’s not picking up. Celine got tired and decided to hang up the call but just then he picked up the call.
“Yes, hello?” The tired voice of Williams spoke from the other end, sending a spark to Celine’s heart.
“Hmm, hi Andrew!” Celine said nervously.
She looked at Rachel who moved her palm to her mouth, preventing herself from laughing.
There was silence from the other end for what seemed like 30 seconds.
“Oh, there must have been a mistake with the digits, this is not Andrew,” Williams said calmly. His breath on the speaker almost made Celine groan but she stopped herself from doing so.
“Okay… Thank you!” she cleared her throat, about to hang up but Williams’s voice stopped her from hanging up.
“Excuse me! Is this not Celine, Rachel’s friend?” Williams asked and Celine grinned hard in her head.
‘He recognises my voice
She beamed in her mind. Already imagining the guy as her lawfully wedded husband. She grinned inwardly before clearing her throat.
“Oh, Williams is that you?” Celine couldn’t hide the excitement in her tone as she spoke. Still not believing that she’s on a call with the man she’s crushing on.
“Did you get home safely?” He asked and she nodded.
‘Dummy he can’t see you
Her inner mind fired at her. And she rolled her.
“Yes, we did. What about you?” she asked and she heard him sigh tiredly before replying.
“I got home a little bit later, and I’m super tired right now.
She realizes that he must have been tired as he claimed because he’s not sounding too well and she doesn’t want to make it seem like she Internationally called him. So she decided to let him go to sleep.
After all, there is plenty of time they could use to communicate, right?
“Anyway, it’s nice meeting you once again, Williams. That’s my number, you can save it.” She smiled and she heard his slight grin.
“Alright Celine good night!” He said and she hung up the call before dropping the phone on the bed.
Rachel walked up to Celine and sat down on the bed, beside Her friends.
“How did it go?” Rachel asked curiously.
“He promised to save my contacts and he said he will call me one of these days.” She smiled and Rachel nodded her head.
“You’re making progress.” Rachel complimented her and promised to help her out if she needed any help.
“Thank you!” Celine beamed, falling to the soft bed.
“But don’t you dare break my friend’s heart,” Rachel warned, faking a hard glare.
“So, I’m no longer your friend?” Celine bickered and Rachel shook her head. Smiling weirdly at her friend.
“Of course, that’s not what I meant.” she laughed, falling on the bed beside Celine when she realised she’ll be going to work the next day.

Wednesday came like a flash and Rachel was back to work.
She sat in her office, walking on the paperwork that was assigned to her by her boss.
She picked up the last file and entered the details inside the system.
She clipped the file and packed it with the rest.
She left her office to her boss, which was beside hers.
She knocked on her boss’s office door and he vigorously ushered her in.
“Good morning, sir.” Rachel greeted with a slight bow.
Leo waved his hands in the air, not taking his gaze from the system at his front. He’s not in the mood for bickering and it makes it obvious.
Even though he’s not operating the system. He stayed focused on the system but his mind is somewhere else.
“Here is the file you asked me to fetch,” she said politely and he pointed at the table for her to drop the file.
He dismissed her after she had submitted and he watched her walk out of the door.
Rachel couldn’t stop thinking about why her boss has been acting gently.
Leo sighed for the umpteen times, glancing at his phone to see if he had gotten any message from his mom but he was surprised that she hadn’t sent it yet.
‘What if the girl he’s bent on marrying turns out to be someone I know
He thought, brushing his jet-black hair to the back.
He rested his back on the backrest and he closed his laptop when he got tired of staring at the blank screen of his system.
Just then, a message popped on his phone screen and he rushed to check who it was.
He was stunned to see the lady in the picture his mother sent is no other person than his “Personal Assistant! Rachel!” He exclaimed, checking the picture again and again until he liked the picture and started to change his face.
But no matter how he thinks about it, or no matter how much he changes how he feels about the pic. The pictures remain the same. The person he’s going to marry is none other than the girl he has bent on mistreating.
“How’s this possible?” He thought, going through the picture once again and surprisingly, the picture remained the same.
He thought his eyes were playing a mind game with him, so he rushed over to the restroom inside his office and splashed a handful of water on his face.
He brought out the phone to check again, yet Rachel, his assistant, remains the same person inside the picture.
He walked back to his seat and plunged into it.
“Does she know about this, and act like nothing is going on?” He thought as he rested his head on the backrest.
“Rachel!” he exclaimed and puffed out air.
Drifting his mind to the lady who has been doing brilliantly at work makes him wonder how he’s going to act around her forthwith.
“She’s a beautiful lady with a lively aura. But am I ready to tie the knot with her?” He sighed. Confused about what he should do concerning the problem at hand.
