“I need a genuine reasons, you have to give me a very good reason before I allowed this divorce, how can you tell me you’re tired of this marriage, you guys are madly in love, I don’t understand what you’re trying to do now” Mr Wilson said and Oliver sigh, she understands that Mr Clinton is just trying to protect her, he doesn’t believe his son because he knows the type of son, he has.
So many thoughts run through her mind and she can’t help another sigh that tears through her throat. The thought of her going back to Derrick house flashes through her mind, and a drop of tears slid down the corner of her cheek as she bites her bottom lip sadly. As much as she waited to continue staying in Nate house, but she doesn’t wanna keep making him uncomfortable, she thought she will succeeded in divorcing her husband today, but it seems look is not in her side. She suddenly missed her aunt. She has no idea why her was suddenly cruel to her, but one thing she will never forget is that there was a time that she lived her life for her, a time that her Aunt protected her, her aunt has been taking care of her, since she was a kid, she doesn’t have any other family apart from her. But what changed? Why did she suddenly hate her so much that she didn’t even want to see her? How could she be so cruel to sell her to someone like Derrick? Those are the questions she has been asking herself for many years and is always left with no answer.
Flashback
‘You’re getting married’ her aunt announced and she Burst into laughter.
‘is this one of your jokes? You have been saying this for the past one week now, how did you expect me to get married when I didn’t even have a boyfriend’ she replied.
‘You have been, sold, I sell you to your husband he will be here to pick you up and you are getting married next week’
‘Huh?’ She blinks her eyes twice in confusion.
‘What is the meaning of huh? You’re leaving here next tomorrow, you better get ready before your new owner arrive’ she said, that was when Oliver realized her aunt wasn’t joking at all.
‘You must be joking aunt, just tell me this is a joke, how did you expect me to get married to a total stranger, someone I don’t even know at all, just tell me you’re joking, this joke is too expensive for me’
‘Who did you think you’re? Why did you think I keep you until now? I took care of you for a purpose like this, you bastard!’ The way her aunt yelled at her for the first time years ago make her think if she’s the woman she grown up to know as her Aunt. The look on her face that day is what she can never get rid of. The sad and pained look on her face has left her asking herself many questions for many years. She keeps getting curious to know what happened to her aunt and why she suddenly changed, she has asked her several times about her real parents, but it seems like she’s never going to get her answers. So she concluded her parents are dead.
‘will you be okay without me?’ More tears stream down her cheek as she tightens her grip around the rail. Taking a deep breath.
‘Get ready for your marriage, no I have to lock you up before he comes, because I don’t trust you anymore.
End of flashback.
“You will allow me to divorce him, if I gave you good reasons?” Oliver asked with a frown.
“Yeah, good reason with concrete evidence, let me see if I can solve the issue, I don’t wanna lose you as a daughter and daughter in-law” Mr Clinton replied and Oliver sigh. What evidence is he talking about, how did he expect her to get evidence within five days?
“Alright, father” Derrick said with a smile before standing up from the chair. Oliver sluggishly stood up from the chair and bow her head before walking out with Nate and Ethan.
“I told you, you can’t divorce me, what evidence did you wanna show the poor man? Get inside the car and let’s go back to where you belong” Derrick said and Oliver scoffed.
“In your wildest dream, I am not going back to your house” Oliver replied.
“What did you want father to think if he find out you’re staying with a man that’s not your husband? Did you want me to get him arrested? You better come back to the house if you like him” Derrick said and Nate move closer to Derrick. He dust his shoulder as if he is cleaning dirt from it.
“I am not afraid, I will be expecting the cops” Nate said and wink at him.
“Gosh, did that physcho just wink at me? I can’t believe this, he is going cràzy, Oliver I am very disappointed in you, how can you choose to stay with a physchó like him?’ Derrick said.
“Huh, I guess you’re a lunatiç then” Oliver replied and walked to the car, Nate blow Derick a kiss before walking to the driver seat.
Oliver hasn’t say anything since they left her father in-law house, earlier.
It’s a beautiful evening and the atmosphere is conducive for a balcony. Staring up at the blue sky, she sighs for the umpteenth time as she holds the rail.
The thought of her not getting the divorce she wanted is killing her slowly, she knew her father in-law was the only one that can force Derrick to sign the paper, she doesn’t have money to file law suit and Derrick can do anything to stop the divorce, rich people always have their ways when it comes to law. Her father in-law was her only hope.
How did he expect her to get evidence, is there anything like evidence when divorcing your husband? Her father in-law just don’t want her to go. Taking a deep breath, she finally turns around to walk back into her room, but she stops on her track as she spots Nate standing at the doorway and staring at her.
Her heart misses a beat as she stares at him blankly, wondering what he’s doing in her room and how long he has been standing there. After they came back she has been avoiding him and his friend because she thought they’re gonna send her out of the house. Ethan refused to renew his rent because he found Nate place lively. Nate haven’t heard anything from his father and his wife, so he thought they’re finally letting him go.
“Are you OK?” He asks with a hint of concern in his voice, and she slowly nods her head. It gladdens her heart to know that he cares about her, but realizing that he can send her out anytime he likes, makes her sad, she doesn’t have any one else to run to, Derrick will get her if she stay with Beauty, Nate house is the only save place for her.
“It’s cold out here. Why aren’t you sleeping yet?” He finally walks over to the rail and leans over it as he stares up at the sky.
“I was about to go to bed,” She replies to him, trying not to stutter, and he nods his head momentarily.
“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” The corner of his lips twitches into a soft smile as he stares at the many twinkling stars in the sky, while she just stares at him. She has developed feelings for this man even if it’s not been so long since she came here, she has found herself attracted to him, regardless of the warning Ethan gave her, but it hurts to know that he’ll never belong to her. She’s just a friend or maybe sèx partners. It’s not appropriate to use the word sèx partner since they didn’t have sèx since the last time they did.
“Hmm,” She hums as she nods her head. Walking over to stand beside him, she glances at him and she can’t help admiring everything about him. She has grown so attached to this man, and it’s wrong.
An awkward silence assumes the air as Nate stares at the sky. He has so many thoughts running through his mind. He keeps wondering why his father isn’t doing anything, he has been going to club but he didn’t see any traces of his father men, I heard his father travel out of the country and he wonder what he is up to.
“What do you want to do about the divorce?” He suddenly asks out of the blue, earning a confused glance from her.
“Did you still want the divorce, or you’re gonna give up?” He asked and Oliver heart skip a beat. Is he trying to send her out of his house? His he tired of her?
“Huh?” She huh and Nate smile.
“You look beautiful and I can’t take my eyes, away from you” Nate said and take a step closer to her.
