“Honey, that’s diamond snow, that’s diamond snow!! Look, that’s real diamond snow!!”
She was as excited as a child, jumping and cheering. Kevin was happy, too. He quickly took the camera from the bag and snapped up few photos.
“Let’s take a picture together, quickly.”
Bella held his arm and took a happy picture with him in the diamond snow.
“Oh, man. I can’t believe it. This incredible snow actually exists. That’s amazing. Now I can brag this to Alice.”
Bella was glowing with joy and couldn’t stop smiling. The diamond snow only lasted no more than ten minutes and went back to normal color. Hadn’t it been the photos in their camera and phones that proved they actually saw it, some might think it was only their dream.
“Honey, I feel happy. We finally saw the diamond snow. We won’t be apart from each other ever again!”
“Hope it would be efficacious as you say.”
Pa-ta. Bella hugged Kevin’s neck and kissed him on the cheek, “Kevin, thank you, thank you for helping me fulfill my wish. To express my gratitude, I can help you fulfill three wishes. Go ahead, what do you want me to do?”
“Really?”
Kevin was very interested.
“Sure, I’m a woman of my words.”
“Then that’s a good deal for me. One for three.”
“I’m much surprised by you. Nothing is more important than staying with the beloved one for life. If one asks me, do I want to live alone for a hundred years or do I want to live with my beloved person for a hundred days? I would definitely choose the latter. What’s the point to live alone? If that’s the case, one day would feel as long as a year. And a hundred years are such a long time. I don’t want to live alone and lonely.”
Kevin’s eyes seemed full of complicated emotions, however, he said nothing but just smiled gently.
“Do you know what’s the difference between the first love and the final love?”
He shook his head, “I don’t know.”
“First love makes you feel like this is the person that you want to spend your whole life with. And the final love makes you feel as if it were your first love.”
“Hehe, that makes sense.” Kevin agreed.
“So how do you feel now?”
Bella held his arm and asked curiously. At least, she was very excited at this moment.
Kevin looked at her with tenderness, “I’m willing to do anything for you. This is how I feel now.”
She kissed him again, “Honey, you are really good to me. Then what about your three wishes? Anything that I can do for you right now？It’s ok if you can’t come up with three wishes right now, you can take your time.”
“Is there a time limit?”
“It’s valid for three years”
He chuckled but later ceased his smile, “Bella, after the spring festival, I’ll send you abroad to await your delivery.”
“Await my delivery abroad?” Bella was a little surprised, “You mean you want me to give birth abroad?”
“Yeah.”
“Why? Why not in our country?”
“The conditions are better abroad. You are pregnant with twins, and I hope you can deliver the babies successfully.”
Bella pouted peevishly, “Those with quadruplets, sextuplets, all gave birth in domestic, you worry too much about it.”
“What if this is my first wish?”
Bella froze, “Honey, is there anything you didn’t tell me? I’m only pregnant for five months and you ask me to await the delivery abroad, don’t you think this is unusual?”
“Nothing, I just want you to orient yourself there first. Their conditions are indeed much better than us.”
“But I don’t want to leave you. I just said I would rather live with my beloved one for a hundred days than living alone for a hundred years. Now you are giving me a hard time.”
Kevin pressed his shoulder, “Bella, I send you abroad just to give you a better environment, not to separate with you. As to what you said, living alone for a hundred years or living together for a hundred days, it seems as if we are about to leave each for good.”
“What’s so better there? Without you, it is nothing better there!”
“I will visit you frequently. Actually, there is another reason I want to send you abroad. I want to prevent you from harm. Now the conflict between me and Celeste is escalating. I’m afraid that she would threaten me with you.”
“I knew it.”
Bella glared at him angrily, “Do you have to pit against Celeste that fiercely? We are running short of money, why we have to take her down. Whether she is delining or not doesn’t matter to us. As long as we are living happily, then that’s all good. Why we have to live so tiredly?”
“I said I won’t spare her.”
Kevin held Bella tightly. She could feel him, feel his body shivering gently.
She couldn’t understand what made Kevin hold grudge against Celeste so deeply, “You think your father’s death has something to do with her, but you don’t have the evidence and that’s just your assumption. Even though it has something to do with her. Your father passed away already. Why don’t you let go of the hatred and stop cocooning yourself?”
“It’s more than that.”
Bella caressed his dark hair lovingly, “If it’s about Freya, you can let go of it, too. Since I don’t mind it now, why are you still holding the grudge?”
“Bella, please, please say no more.”
Kevin’s body shivered more violently, which confused Bella a lot. Since they got back together, he had been avoiding talking about that thing. She assumed that he just couldn’t let it go, but it seemed that there was something behind it.
“Do I have to go abroad?”
“Just for a while. When the sun is out after the rain, I’ll take you home.”
Bella pondered for few seconds. Considering the safety of the children in her belly, she agreed willingly, “Alright, I believe that whatever decision you make is for my good.”
Kevin kissed her forehead. All the words and love were in the silence.
Returning from Hokkaido, Kevin started to plan for Bella to go abroad. He booked the ticket on January 1sth of the Chinese lunar calendar. And the January 15th was the reuniting day. He didn’t want to send her away on that day.
The residence was settled. This day, Kevin brought few pictures to Bella, “Bella, look, this is the house I bought for you in Viena, is it beautiful?”
“You are going to send me to Viena?”
“Yes.”
“Why there?”
“Because you said you like somewhere with water. This house happens to be right next to the Danube river, and you can see the long river just by standing in front of the window.”
Bella took the picture. It was really pretty, the blue sky, white cloud, red bricks, green tiles, and cleaning river…
Alvin and Lena’s wedding was on January 6th of the Chinese lunar calendar. On the same day, Alvin changed his name to Alvin Moffat and everyone also learned that the real name of Master White was Sebastian Moffat.
On the wedding day, Lena’s wedding dress was draped on the floor as the British royal princess, noble, beautiful, elegant, and decent.
Master White bought a deluxe villa in the city’s prime location as the wedding gift to his son and daughter-in-law. Many guests came to the wedding, political and business celebrities and people from scholarly families.
Bella dressed up gorgeously on this day. As the bride’s sister-in-law and Kevin’s wife, she was busy with receiving the guests and greeting those rich men’s wives with her mother-in-law and enjoyed the whole process.
She saw an unexpected guest, Freya, while being busy with her work. That woman actually came to the wedding.
Bella walked straight up to her and asked directly, “What are you doing here?”
“I’m coming for the wedding. What? I’m not welcomed here?”
Freya laughed disdainfully, “whether I’m welcomed or not, as I’m here, you guys have to treat me like a guest.”
Bella snorted angrily and turned to serve other guests.
The Jones-Sharp’s was a wealthy family but conservative in thought. It was a Chinese-style wedding, though the groom wanted a western-style wedding.
Paying tribute to both the bride’s and groom’s family, exchanging the rings, kissing each other, and the ceremony was completed.
Bella kept serving the guests. When it was near the dining time, she looked around but couldn’t find Kevin. That was weird. She saw him just now.
“Mom, have you seen your son?”
Blanche shook her head, “No, you can call him.”
“His phone is off.”
Bella then went on asking others and finally learned from their driver that Kevin went to the back garden.
She was irritated abruptly as the driver said, the young master was not alone but with a woman. The diver knew her and said it was Freya.
Calming down herself, she hurried to the back garden. Upon here, she saw Kevin and Freya were close to each other. Suddenly she was burning with fire inside and queried them furiously, “What are you doing?”
Kevin turned around with astonishment flashing through his eyes. He looked at Freya apathetically, replying, “Nothing.”
Bella was burned up but didn’t want to lose her temper in front of Freya. She ran away the back garden and drove back home.
Kevin knew that she misunderstood him and drove after her.
Sitting in the living room, Bella was in a sulk after she was back. Kevin walked in and sat beside her. He asked deliberately, “Why you went home suddenly?”
“Am I going to keep watching you guys being intimate with each other?”
“No, you misunderstand it. I just want to confirm something with her. It’s not how you think.”
“What things?”
Kevin remained silent, but little did he know that it made Bella even more furious.
She could tolerate Kevin kept secrets but could never tolerate that Freya and he had secrets that she didn’t know.
It made her feel like she was an outsider.
“Just some business matter, you don’t have to know.”
“What kind of business matter that you need to intimate with her? Don’t you hate her to death? Now what? You guys have business matters to talk about? Do you think I’m an idiot? Maybe you want to send me away so anxiously because of Freya, not Celeste. Ah, I should have thought it before. She was your first girlfriend who you have loved for three years and have never forgotten about!”
