“You’ll see if you go over there.”
He looked askance at Bella, snatched her bag, squinted, and smiled, “Beauty, wait for me, I’ll be right back.”
“Give me back my bag!”
Bella was trying to chase after him, but the bar foreman stopped her, “Miss, calm down. He will return it to you.”
“Lend me your cell phone. I want to call the police.”
“Call the police? What for?”
“Can’t you see with your eyes? He took my bag!”
“He’ll give it back to you when he comes out.”
“Do you mean to tell me to wait here until he comes out and then let him continue to harass me?”
“Don’t worry, he won’t harass you anymore. I assure you if you are harassed, our bar is solely responsible.”
Bella saw that he was serious, not as if he was fooling her, so she sat down angrily and waited for the creep to come out and return the bag to her.
After waiting for about ten minutes, the creepy guy finally came back but he startled her.
She looked at him in a daze and asked in horror, “What’s the matter with you …?”
The man standing in front of her would have been unrecognizable if the two rows of big yellow teeth weren’t still remembered clearly by her because his face was beaten and bruised hard.
“Miss, I’m sorry. I was wrong. I won’t dare to do it again.”
The creepy man returned the bag to her respectfully and ran away with his tails between their legs.
For a full minute, Bella didn’t realize what was going on, but when she did, she glanced in the direction where the creepy guy came out.
She quickly thought for a moment and carried her bag without hesitation to the door of box three.
She knocked hard on the door, which was then opened, and a stranger looked out and asked, “Who are you looking for?”
“May I ask if you’re the only one in this compartment?”
“Yes, what can I do for you?”
She bit her lip and shook her head, “Nothing.”
Bella did not leave but hid in the left side of the box. About five or six minutes later, the door of the box opened again, from which came out six or seven people, headed by Kevin.
She trod up to him without saying anything, just staring at him.
Kevin was briefly startled and apparently didn’t expect Bella did not even go. He gave a slightly sidelong glance to the people behind him and said, “You leave.”
After the people behind him had gone, he asked in a deep voice, “What are you doing here?”
“What am I doing here? Shouldn’t I be the one to ask, “What are you doing here?!”
Bella’s voice was particularly loud, causing the passing waiters to look at them both in surprise.
“Go inside and talk.”
Kevin didn’t want to be peeked at, so he grabbed Bella’s hand and pulled her into the compartment, slamming the door.
“Don’t you know this kind of place is messy? It’s not where you’re supposed to be.”
“It’s not where I’m supposed to be. Is it where you’re supposed to be?”
“I’m a man and don’t compare with me.”
“What’s wrong with you as a man? You’re a man and you can go wherever you want, but I’m a woman and I can only stay in a room and never go out, right?”
Kevin was slightly angry, and the veins on his forehead popped up and he roared, “If I hadn’t been here just now, you would have been sexually assaulted by that guy by now!”
“So what? It’s my business if I’m bullied. What’s it to you? If you don’t love me anymore, why do you care about me?”
“I don’t care about you.”
“You obviously did something that cares for me but you still deny it. Do you think I’m a fool? Don’t I have a heart and can’t I feel?!”
Bella questioned closely and Kevin’s heart continued to tremble.
“I have accepted Quintin as you wished and also start to want to forget the past and live well with him, but why? Why did you push me away but still not let go of me? Don’t you know that this will make me feel very sad? How far do you have to push me before you’ll be satisfied?”
Bella’s tears made Kevin sad. His heart began to bleed since she left, and had been bleeding until now. Because of the dignity of a man, there were some words he couldn’t say but he could only accelerate the bleeding in his heart until the blood all ran out when the day he died.
“You go away, leave B City just like I said in the beginning, and don’t come back …”
Kevin suddenly said very tiredly.
She looked up woodenly, “I ask you for the last time. Is it true? Is it true?”
He nodded, so she left without looking back.
The night before Bella prepared to leave B city, Patrick and Blanche learned from Alvin that Bella was back and came to her apartment.
They sat face to face and Patrick and his wife was very nervous, perhaps feeling ashamed in front of their daughter-in-law.
“Bella, your father and I shamelessly came to see you today, and we know that you must ridicule us in your heart, but we still came.”
“I’m not ridiculing you. You just tell me what you have to say.”
Bella looked at her in-laws with a blank expression. She was a cultivated woman and wouldn’t treat them unreasonably no matter how her in-laws once treated her.
“You should know everything about Freya, right?”
“Yeah, got it.”
“So what’s your plan?”
“I have no plans.”
The couple looked at each other, so Patrick said the purpose of their visit with embarrassment, “There are some things we know we should not say, and we have no position to say it, but out of love for our son, we still hope you can come back to Kevin.”
Bella mockingly smiled, “Have you forgotten I can’t have children?”
“It’s okay, we don’t mind. A lot of things have happened in the past two years, and your father and I have both figured out that it’s important to keep the family line, but it’s not as important as the happiness of our son. Looking at his depression day by day, we are really worried and afraid that something will happen to him one day and we will lose him. If we lose him, what’s the point of having a grandson …”
“You’ve finally come around, but don’t you think it’s too late?”
Bella looked indifferently at them across the room, “If you had thought this way, why would it be like this today?”
Blanche cried sadly, “Bella. I’m sorry. We already know that we were wrong, please forgive us, foolish parents. For the past love between you and Kevin, go back to him. He really needs you very much. It looks like he has an erotic love life, but in fact, that is all superficial. He has never done anything wrong to you. ”
“I’m sorry that I can’t promise you. When I signed that divorce agreement two years ago, I said I won’t come back after I leave, so please go back. My fate with your family has ended.”
Bella gave the eviction order, but the couple refused to go, “Bella, please reconsider. My son really needs you. Only you can let him out of the decadent life. As long as you are willing to return to his side, we will agree with your every request. Even if you say you will not live with us, we have no objection.”
“Go away. I told you I can’t do it.”
“Can you really stand to watch his life be ruined like this?”
“What can I do? It’s not that I won’t go back, but your son doesn’t want me. He’s doing everything he can to get rid of me, letting me go, and telling me never to come back. Is this what you call he needing me? Would you please find out what your son really thinks before you tell me these?”
Bella vented her anger of the heart in one breath, cried and ran back to the bedroom, slammed and locked the door.
The couple petrified on the spot and didn’t react for a while. When they regained consciousness, they rushed home non-stop but found that his son didn’t come back. Patrick immediately called his son and asked him immediately to be back home.
One hour later, Kevin came back and indifferently asked his parents, “What’s the hurry to call me back?”.
“We just went to see Bella, and she said you wanted to get rid of her, right?”
Startled, Kevin nodded, “Yes, what’s the problem?”
“Why are you doing this? You obviously miss her so much, but why do you want to disassociate yourself from her?!”
“That’s my business. You don’t need to ask about it.”
“How can we not ask? We are your parents and you are our son. Who in the world doesn’t care about their children?”
Kevin sarcastically snorted, “You guys don’t interfere in my affairs and it is the biggest concern for me, so if you want to prove that you care about me, don’t interfere in my affairs.”
He turned to go upstairs, and Patrick snarled angrily, “As long as I’m alive, I can’t just leave you alone!”
“You think you care about me, but how much do you know about me? Stop struggling unnecessarily. There’s nothing wrong with just living a quiet life.”
“You stop right there!”
Patrick roared again, “I order you as a father, go apologize to Bella right now and bring her back home.”
Kevin was like hearing the most ridiculous joke in the world, “You guys should give up before it’s too late. What do you take her for? Can you let her go and come back as you wish? Is she a puppet to be at your mercy like this?”
“We are sorry for her, but if you will go and apologize to her, she will come back to you!”
“I don’t need it, okay?”
Kevin turned around angrily, “What makes you think that I still love her? And what makes you think I need her so badly? I’ll do something about it myself if I need her, and I don’t need you to worry about it.
After he finished yelling, he continued up the stairs, thinking, turning back, and adding, “Don’t go looking for her again. Don’t you feel shame to bother her life!”
