Bella listened to Braxton’s words and gasped, and indeed, Kevin’s face was livid.
He rudely yanked Braxton’s arm and said with gritted teeth, “Come with me.”
“Let me go. You let me go.”
Braxton struggled hard, and Bella panicked and stopped him, “What are you doing? You scare him.”
Kevin forcibly endured anger in his heart and said word for word, “Take – him – to sleep!”
“Where are you taking him to bed?”
“Hotel.”
“Why would you want to go to a hotel? There’s a room at home.”
Kevin raised his eyebrows, “Didn’t you hear what this kid said? He’s going to sleep with you. Do you mean the same thing as him?”
Bella grunted, pulling away from Kevin’s hand that was gripping on Braxton’s arm, “Okay, why are you jealous of anyone?”
She patiently and gently said to Braxton, “Braxton, two people who are not married are not allowed to sleep together. You sleep here, and I sleep next door, okay?”
Braxton lowered his head as if he was upset.
“Come, Bella will sing “Little Conch” for you.”
Bella gave a wink at Kevin, gesturing for him to get out.
Kevin stood still, watching Bella pull Braxton to the side of the bed, coaxing him to sleep like a child, and then sang like a competent mother, “Little conch, tick, tick, blow. Seagulls listened and spread wings to fly. The little conch, tick, tick, blow. The waves listen and smiled. The little whelk, tick, tick, blow. The voice calls the boat home. Little conch, tick, tick, daddy, come back soon.”
Bella’s soft and gentle voice echoed every inch of the room. Braxton gradually fell into sleep, and Kevin walked over to sarcasm, “A grown man listens to children’s songs. What a shame.”
“Can you stop bullshitting?”
Bella took a glance at him, covered up the quilt for Braxton, then shoved Kevin out of the room and gently closed the door.
Looking at her gentle action, Kevin’s jealousy intensified. He returned to the room, frustrated, lift the quilt to lie down, then no longer pay attention to Bella. Bella stared at his cold hard back, said, “Turn around.”
He didn’t speak, and he didn’t move.
“Do you hear me when I tell you to turn around?”
Bella pressed his shoulder hard, trying to get him to face her, but he was too strong. Bells failed.
“You won’t turn around, will you? Fine, then I’ll go take Braxton to bed.”
She was ready to get off the bed, and it really worked. Before her feet even hit the ground, she was pulled back by Kevin’s strong arms and tightly hugged.
He held her so tightly that she could barely breathe, but she was very happy. There was a smile on her delicate red lips.
“Sing to me.”
“What?”
Bella thought she’d heard wrong and stared incredulously.
“I told you to sing.”
“What song?”
She asked.
“The conch ticks and blows.”
Well.
Bella couldn’t help but laugh out loud. Her husband was really too cute. The soft voice then sounded. The beautiful singing voice seemed to bring people to a carefree childhood. Kevin relaxed instead of frowning. There was a smile on his sexy thin lips the moment he closed eyes.
The next morning, Bella got up, opened the door ready to go next door to see Braxton. When the door was opened, Braxton like a Buddha-like sat in front of her door, and she was really shocked. In order to avoid him seeing Kevin sleeping on the bed, she closed the door at once and squatted down to ask, “Braxton, why are you sitting here?”
“I’m waiting for you to get up.”
“Then you don’t have to sit on this floor, so get up.”
She reached down and pulled him up, then took him downstairs.
During breakfast, Braxton was too nervous to look up. Although he was stupid, he could feel all the people checking him out. Their eyes made him feel extremely uneasy. Especially Lena stared at him attentively. She was sighing in her heart that this handsome guy was a fool.
“Mom and Dad, I’ll take him home after breakfast later.”
“Have you been in touch with his family?”
“Yes, I’ve already called them.”
Kevin interjected in annoyance, “Why do they let you send him? He should pick up his own son.”
“His father is busy these days.”
“You give me the address, and I’ll send someone to send it back. You just stay at home and don’t go anywhere.”
“But …”
“Listen to me. It’s settled.”
Kevin got up, “I’ll go to the office first. You just leave him to Alvin when Alvin comes later.”
Saying that, he didn’t care if Bella agreed or not. He picked up the car keys and left the house.
Bella thought he was just talking casually, but didn’t expect that Alvin really came. Once he entered the house, he asked, “Madam, Mr. Jones-Sharp arranged for me to come over. Please feel free to say whatever you want.”
“Well, please send him home.”
Bella pointed at Braxton.
“I don’t want to go home with him. I want to be with you.”
With a hostile stare at Alvin, Braxton hid behind Bella and trembled like a frightened bird.
Seeing him like this, Bella was very unbearable, and after pondering for a few seconds, she said, “Forget it, you go back to the company, or I’ll send it myself.”
“But it’s arranged by Mr. Jones-Sharp. I’m afraid I won’t be able to account for it if I just go back.”
“It’s okay. I’ll explain it to him then.”
She took Braxton’s hand and softly reassured, “Don’t be afraid. I’ll go with you.”
Bella stuffed Braxton into the car and started the engine. The car quickly drove out of the gates of the Cloud Mansion.
Alvin stood in front of the car and sighed lightly, so he pulled the door open and prepared to leave. He was carelessly glancing upwards and saw Lena who was standing in front of the second-floor window looking at him leisurely.
It had been more than a month since the last argument, and they hadn’t seen and called each other again.
At the moment they were looking at each other, and they both felt awkward. Alvin smiled at her, but Lena lowered her head, loosening the curtain.
After returning to the company, Alvin came to the president’s office. Kevin frowned, “Why are you back?”
“Madam won’t let me go. She sent Braxton away herself.”
Kevin rubbed his forehead in frustration, got up and stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, roared with his hands on his hips, “You won’t go if she doesn’t let you. Who exactly are you taking orders from?”
Alvin explained innocently, “I’ll listen to you, but I can’t ignore your wife’s either.”
“Then you can follow. How can you let her drive thousands of meters away?”
“I wanted to follow, but your wife didn’t allow it. She said she was familiar with that place.”
Kevin was furious, “Did she say when she would be back?”
“It’s about two days round trip.”
As soon as Alvin finished, Kevin’s cell phone rang, and as soon as he saw that it was a call from Bella, he immediately answered it in anger, “Hello?”
“Honey, are you yelling at Alvin?”
“You’re getting bold now. You don’t listen to me.”
“I was trying to send the Braxton away quickly, so you wouldn’t feel unpleasant.”
“Are you the only one who can send him and can’t anyone else do it?”
“It’s not like you know that Braxton is shy. He’s afraid of everyone but me, and he won’t leave if I don’t send him. So what do you think if I don’t send him?”
Bella’s words were reasonable. From last night, Kevin could see that Braxton especially relied on Bella.
“Okay, I’ll spare you this time. Next time you dare to disobey my order, see how I’ll deal with you.”
“Got it, hubby, I love you.”
A sugar-coated bullet from Bella instantly appeased Kevin’s anger. His attitude softened a lot, and his tone was full of spoiling, “Be careful on the way. Be back right after delivering him.”
“As ordered.”
Bella made the call while Braxton was asleep. After hanging up the phone, she took off her jacket and covered Braxton, then continued driving.
After hanging up the phone, Kevin was in a good mood, smiling, said to Alvin, “Alvin, a wife must be obedient. This disobedient woman will make you worry about her all day long.”
Alvin said teasingly, “Really? You’re smiling so happily. Worrying should be a blessing, right?”
“Okay, go to work.”
Kevin sent him out, recalling Bella’s words of ‘I love you’, and he became energetic.
Bella arrived in T city only in the evening, and the car stopped in front of the villa of the Cotton family. She led Braxton into the house. As soon as Jennifer saw her son, she was heartbroken and angry, reprimanded, “Braxton, why are you running around by yourself again? You really let me worry.”
Braxton ignored his mother’s reprimand, but grabbed Bella’s arm and said, “Bella, don’t go. I won’t let you go.”
Richard looked at his son being reluctant. Mixed feelings that could not be easily detected flashed in his eyes. He smiled and said to Bella, “Bella, it’s been a long time, stay at our house for dinner tonight, right?”
Bella shook her head, “No, I’m going back to return to do some work, so I won’t bother you.”
Jennifer’s face fell. Bella had never been willing to stay in their home for a minute longer since she married, as if she would be hurt when staying here.
Richard was also unhappy, but he did not show it, “Then have a cup of tea. You send Braxton back all the way. Have a drink of water before leaving.”
Saying that, he invited Bella to the center of the living room. Bella felt that it would be too disgraceful to refuse again, so she had to sit on the sofa along with Richard.
Jennifer brought over two cups of hot tea, and Braxton saw that Bella didn’t leave and happily sat beside her.
“Braxton, you go back to your room. I want to talk to Bella.”
Braxton shook his head, “I’m not leaving.”
“Be good. We’ll just talk for a little while. Dad assures you that Bella won’t leave.”
