Book:The CEO's Seventh Bride Published:2024-5-1

“If I could go down alone, I wouldn’t have gone up last night. I would have gone down together and waited together.”
“Then you don’t talk, just wait honestly.”
Bella stared at the sky attentively with the indestructible conviction that she would be able to see the legendary diamond snow.
A morning passed quickly, and Kevin decadently asked her, “Aren’t you hungry?”
Bella shook her head in a very lost way, “No.”
“No way. You just don’t see what you want to see and you’re lost like that.”
“Let’s go back.”
She weakly moved her pace and left towards the mountain. No one would know she couldn’t help but lose and be even more disappointed. Because not seeing diamond snow was a sign that she and Kevin couldn’t last forever.
At this time, even a legend could become the most beautiful faith in her heart.
It was only when Lena received a call from her brother that he had found Bella. Her families were relieved.
She thought her sister-in-law had said that day that a woman could do nothing, but she must be able to cook. The best way to a man’s heart was through his stomach. So she began to painfully resolve to get up at five in the morning every day, just to let the maid teach her how to make breakfast.
After learning breakfast for two mornings, she thought it was too easy. So she started learning dinner, and after learning dinner for only one night, she thought she knew how to do it. So she went to Alvin’s apartment, carrying a big bag of food ready to cook for him.
She pressed the doorbell excitedly, and a moment later, the door opened. A beautiful woman showed up, and Lena was stunned and asked woodenly, “Who are you?”
“Who are you looking for?”
The woman was just like the hostess of the house, dressed in a casual outfit with an apron tied around her waist, her charming eyes staring unblinkingly at the girl in front of her who was a few years younger than herself.
“Where is my Alvin? ”
Lena questioned with a livid face.
“Oh, Alvin. He’s in the shower. Is something wrong?”
“What are you to him?”
Lena was a bit unable to hold on, and she wanted to kill someone now.
“I’m his girlfriend. My name is Winifred. What about you?”
“You’re lying! I’m Alvin’s girlfriend!”
Lena suddenly lost control and pushed her, throwing the food she bought at her.
Alvin appeared in time, rushing to Winifred to protect her behind, and angrily reprimanded, “Lena, what are you doing? You’re so rude!”
“Alvin, you’re telling me that she’s lying to me, right?”
“What did she lie to you about?”
“She lied to me when she said she was your girlfriend, didn’t she?”
Alvin was a bit embarrassed and sighed, “Lena, she didn’t lie to you. We’ve been dating for two years.”
Two years. Lena was dizzy, suddenly feeling that she had become the most stupid fool in the world, “No way, absolutely not ……”
She stumbled backward and murmured, “Absolutely not … I don’t believe …”
“Lena.”
Alvin was a little sad and wanted to go forward to reassure her, but she threw away his hand with great force and ran out.
In every maiden’s heart, there was a beautiful castle built, and in that castle, there lived the prince she loved. But suddenly one day, the prince said: the princess was not you. Then, what would you do? Would you suddenly feel like the collapse of your castle? Would you suddenly feel like your dreams were shattered? Would you suddenly be so sad that you won’t be able to live?
Right now, this was how Lena felt. Everyone in the world knew that she liked Alvin, and she had always thought that Alvin loved her. But it was that moment just now, everything changed, and the castle collapsed. The dream was destroyed, and her heart was broken.
“Lena, you stop, you stop-”
Alvin chased her out and dragged her down, panting, “I’m sorry to make you sad, but you’re still young and don’t understand the feelings, …”
“I told you I’m not young. I’ve liked you since the day I was sensible. Didn’t you know?”
Lena cried and questioned.
“I know.”
“If you knew, why did you hide the fact that you were dating another woman? Haven’t you ever liked me?”
Alvin was pondering for a moment, knowing that what was due would always come, so he stopped hiding it from her, “Lena, I like you, but not as a man and a woman, but as a brother and sister.”
A brother and sister love was like a bomb that shattered the beautiful future that Lena had outlined. How could she accept the fact that the person she had always liked and whom she thought also liked her, only saw her as a little sister?
“Alvin, you lied to me, don’t you? It can’t be like this. We get along so well. How can you just take me as a sister? I know you must be lying to me. You’re just afraid of your own identity so different from me. It’s okay. I have never minded. I don’t mind Alvin you’re an orphan. I’ll be your only family. I’ll love you well, and I will accompany you forever. Alvin, don’t push me away in a cruel way, okay?”
Lena had never been so sad and desperate since she was a child. Alvin was heartbroken, but couldn’t bear to keep lying to her, “Lena, calm down. Listen to me. It’s not because I’m an orphan that I don’t accept you. It’s because I love Winifred. I really love her.”
“Enough. I don’t want to hear it. I don’t want to hear it!!!”
She covered her ears and turned around to run away. The fairy tale in her heart finally shattered completely at this moment.
Alvin stared at her departing, and felt painful. How could he not know about Lena’s love for him these years? But for some reason, he could not confess to her that he already had a girlfriend. Because he promised Kevin that he should not announce his romance, let alone get married until Lena was twenty-five years old.
Back at home, Winifred sat on the sofa looking grave, “What’s up with that girl?”
“He’s the sister of Kevin and always thought she was the one I liked.”
“Did you give her the opportunity to fantasize?”
“It’s not that I’ve given her fantasies, but I can’t confess to her.”
“Why?”
He sighed, “There are some things you don’t need to know.”
Winifred got up and walked over to him, reached out and hugged his neck and said, “Alvin, the Jones-Sharps is very rich. Will you abandon me for that?”
“What are you talking about? I’m not like that.”
Alvin kissed her forehead, “Alright, go back, leave me alone.”
Winifred glanced at him meaningfully. Although she wanted to stay, she was a smart woman. Enough was enough. She silently picked up her bag and left his apartment.
When she left, Alvin called Kevin, “Mr. Jones-Sharp, Lena knows about Winifred and me.”
Kevin was nervous, and he growled in anger, “What’s wrong with you? How did you let her know?”
“She came to my house out of the blue, just as I was taking a shower, and it was Winifred who opened the door.”
“Okay, I know. I’ll be back tomorrow!”
He hung up the phone, and Bella skimmed to see his anxious face and asked, confused, “What’s wrong?”
“Lena knows about Alvin’s girlfriend.”
“Do Alvin have a girlfriend?”
Bella was taken aback.
“Yes.”
“How can he be like that?!” Bella suddenly got angry and slammed her chopsticks on the table, “Since he has a girlfriend, he shouldn’t play tricks on Lena. Lena always thinks that the person Alvin loves is her, and that he didn’t confess to her because he’s concerned about the huge disparity in status between them.”
“It’s not Alvin’s fault. I’m the one who asked him to keep it a secret.”
“Why?”
Bella was even more puzzled.
“Because Lena she …”
“What’s wrong with her?”
Bella was suddenly feeling bad.
“Lena has a tumor in her brain. It was found when she was four years old. At that time because it was too small and in a very dangerous location, the doctor said there was no way to operate, and it could not be removed until she was an adult. The best age was 25. Until then she could not be subjected to any mental stimulation, otherwise, the blood flow to the brain would be too fast and it would put her life in danger. ”
Bella couldn’t believe it. She was stunned for a while before asking, “You said Lena has a tumor in her brain, right?”
“Yes.”
Kevin nodded sorrowfully.
“Does she know that herself?”
“She doesn’t know. I’m afraid that knowing it will add to the burden on her, so I haven’t told her.”
Only then did Bella remember that Lena would often say that she had a headache, and every time she had a headache, she would take some white pills. When she was asked at that time, she also shook her head in wonder, saying that it might be the aftermath of being hit by a car once when she was a child.
Now that Bella suddenly knew the truth, she felt sad and distressed for Lena who was happy and playful every day.
“So you let Alvin keep it from her until she was twenty-five and had surgery to be out of danger before confessing to her.”
“Yeah.”
“And does Mom know Lena likes Alvin?”
“Yes.”
Tears welled up in Bella’s eyes as she got up, “Let’s go back.” When she thought that all the people knew the truth, and only Lena was kept in the dark, she wanted to cry.
“There are no more flights back now, so we’ll leave tomorrow.”
“But ….”
“It’s okay. My mother will reassure her, and it looks like the surgery will have to be brought forward.”
“Can’t it be brought forward?”
“It’s more dangerous in advance.”
“Why does it have to be twenty-five? Isn’t the sooner the tumor is removed, the better?”
“Her tumor is different. She has a rare tumor. It can’t be too big or too small, and it has to be removed at a mature stage to ensure life.”
That night, Black Wolf held a farewell banquet for them. Bella was in a bad mood and did not want to attend. But Kevin insisted that she must attend. On the way to the banquet, she stared out the window of the car row of passers-by, and felt sad.
Lena loved Alvin. Alice loved Louis. She fell in love with Kevin, while Kevin loved Freya. They all love each other very hard.
Responsibility and affection made each of them under pressure and overwhelming.
Returning from the farewell banquet, she soaked in the hotel’s hot spring and didn’t come out for a long time until the hotel’s landlady came and called out to her, “Miss, your husband sent me over to call you back to your room.”
Only then did she get out of the hot spring and put on her clothes to go back to the house where she and Kevin lived.
“Why did you call for me?”
She absentmindedly wiped the water stains from her head with a dry towel.
“Someone is calling you.”
Kevin’s tone was light, so she didn’t think deeper and casually asked, “Who are you?”
“Conrad.”
She was relaxed but suddenly tensed up, and she skimmed at Kevin, “How did you know it was him?”
“I took the call.”
Bella tried to keep herself calm, “Did he say anything?”
“Before that, should you tell me how you know him? When did you guys meet?”
