After yelling, he ran out in frustration, and as he passed the secretary’s office, Alvin was about to say something when she interrupted him indignantly, “Don’t talk to me. None of the men are good!”
Well, Alvin was a bit speechless…
When Lena returned home, she cried to her parents and told them, “Why did Kevin become a cold-blooded person? I told him that his wife was sick, but he didn’t care and said what’s the big deal about that woman? I’m going to be a lobbyist for her and Kevin really pisses me off!”
Wilson was silent. His mind had also been weighed down since yesterday when he learned about the incident between Kevin and Bella, and was worried about something.
“Is Kevin okay?”
Blanche asked sadly.
“No, he’s gaunt.”
“And did he say when he was coming home?”
“Going home?” Lena snorted in a bad mood, “I’m afraid that he won’t come back in this life, as long as Bella is still here.”
As soon as Blanche heard such words, she shed tears in sadness, and Patrick glared at her impatiently, “What are you crying for? He just can’t accept the reality for a while now, so when he calms down in a few days, he’ll naturally come back.”
After he finished, the sound of a car sucking out its engine came from outside the door, and Lena stood up, “Is Kevin back?”
In fact, she was right. Kevin really came back, though the expression on his face was cold and frightening.
“Son…”
Blanche was about to say something, but he had already stirred up the stairs, reached the bedroom door, pushed it open, and strode in.
When Bella suddenly saw him, she also looked very surprised, and she struggled to a sitting position, “You’re back…”
Kevin directly opened the wardrobe, packed some of the common clothes into the luggage bag. Bella soon knew that he just returned to pack clothes.
She gloomily looked away, and stopped talking, but shed tears, fortunately, not in front of him.
After ten minutes or so, Kevin was about done packing, picked up the bag and headed out the door. When he reached the door, he suddenly stopped and looked askance at her, “You’re weak and still want to use me for revenge. It seemed that I don’t underestimate you, but you overestimate yourself.”
Bella thought of his words over and over again, and felt that she was useless. Encountering a setback to her feelings, she became so devastated. Recalling the pain that her mother had suffered all those years, she felt this was nothing to that.
She cried bitterly, and began to vow to be strong herself, not to let anyone see her be useless.
She began to eat well. Every night before going to bed, she ran to the Kevin’s gym to work out, until she was exhausted, without any strength to think about her sadness. She slept surprisingly well. She took medicine on time, ate and on time, and recovered quickly. A week later, Bella was completely healthy as before. But she felt lonely and sad sometimes.
Kevin had been living in his apartment these days, and he looked cold and serious, muddling along with alcohol every day.
Until one day, an unexpected visitor comes to the apartment, and his decadent life was interrupted.
This unwelcome guest was the troublemaker, Gillian. She had already found out the news of Bella and Kevin’s breakup, and was happy for a while. Holding down the excitement, she was
ready to seize the opportunity to hook him up.
She followed Kevin’s car to his apartment, waiting for him to go in first, then straightened her delicate makeup and went over to knock on the door.
When the door opened, she tried to show what she thought was her most flirtatious smile, “Hi, Kevin, it’s been a while.”
Kevin snorted and mockingly questioned, “Have you ever thought you’re shameless?”
She was embarrassed but she continued to laugh, “Kevin, you’re really humorous. Fortunately, I’m not a narrow-minded person. I shall overlook your joke this time.”
“Who’s joking with you? I’m telling the truth. Hasn’t anyone ever told you that you’re really shameless?”
Gillian couldn’t laugh anymore, and was rather chagrined, “I know you’re in a bad mood right now. I simply wanted to come and comfort you. Can I be let in?”
Kevin blocked towards the door, “No, don’t show up in front of me. Especially don’t appear with such heavy makeup. Do you know that I just want to vomit when I look at you?”
“Kevin!”
Gillian was annoyed and no longer talked with him tenderly, shouted, “I just see you pitiful. I know that before my sister you have been betrayed by women. You’re very sorrowful, destined to be fooled by women. Now it is not easy to have a woman like me so sincere to accompany you. You should cherish me, but you don’t. You even humiliate me. You think …”
Before Gillian could finish, she was choked by Kevin and couldn’t breathe. She struggled hard, “Let go of me… you let go of me…”
“You don’t want to live if you dare to shame me, do you? Then I will let you suffer.”
He increased the force, and Gillian’s face turned pale. She desperately twisted her body, and was no longer arrogant, but was trembling and begging, “Brother-in-law, you… you calm down… it’s my fault! … I apologize… please let me go… If you kill me… my sister won’t forgive you…”
Kevin originally really wanted to strangle her, but when he heard her last words, he inexplicably loosened his hand and warned with a gloomy face, “Next time you dare to come here, I’ll kill you.”
Gillian fell heavily to the ground, cried loudly. The door in front of her was shut. She climbed up and cursed, “You heartless man, you can only flaunt in front of me. Those women who betray you, do you dare to do anything to them? One of them ran off with another man, and the other took advantage of you as a fool. But you just dare to hide here licking your own wounds. I can honestly tell you right now that you’re worse than a fool, because a fool at least hasn’t been fooled by women yet.”
Gillian let out a crazy laugh. Suddenly, the door in front of her opened and a basin of water was thrown at her. But the taste of the water was strange, she licked her lips and asked in horror, “You… what are you throwing at me? ”
Kevin smiled in mockery and told her word for word, “Fresh piss.”
Ah – As the door closed again, Gillian let out her usual terrifying scream.
The next day, Kevin did not come to work, so Alvin called him, but there was no answer. He couldn’t help but wonder, drove to his house, took out the spare key to open the door, and was soon dizzy from the pungent smell of alcohol in a room. He quickly pulled open the closed curtains and saw a pile of empty wine bottles thrown on the floor, while Kevin was lying straight on the floor, unresponsive.
“Kevin?” Alvin called out in worry, and seeing his pale face, he quickly carried him to the car and drove to the hospital at speed.
After doing a series of examinations, the doctor seriously announced, “The patient has suffered severe bleeding in the stomach due to prolonged alcoholism, and now needs to be monitored in the ICU. The patient is not allowed to visit until after the critical period.”
Alvin painfully dialed the numbers of the Cloud Mansion, and Blanche answered the call, who immediately arrived at the hospital in tears when she heard that her son had suffered from stomach bleeding for drinking.
Soon afterward, Wilson and Lena as well as Bella all rushed over.
They were all sad, especially Bella. She felt heartache when looking at Kevin’s peaky face.
After waiting for a whole day, Kevin did not wake up. Fortunately, in the evening, he was out of danger, so the doctor allowed the family to go in to visit, but couldn’t stay too long.
The in-laws saw Kevin out of danger, and finally relieved. Then they were persuaded by Bella to go home, while she stayed here.
Standing in front of the isolation window, Alvin handed over the bottle of drink, “Do you have any idea why he’s drinking so much?”
She shook her head glumly.
“Your sister went to the apartment where he lives last night. It seems like she said something to irritate him. I’ve been with Kevin for so many years. I know his past better than anyone. Three years ago, after Freya followed his cousin and left without saying goodbye on his wedding day, he suffered from severe post-traumatic stress syndrome. There’s no way to cure his disease. He would panic and be short of breath. In the first year after Freya left, he suffered from the disease. The next year, he began to take marriage as a game. He married and divorced different women. Until the third year, you saved his life that had been abandoned. He told me that he never thought that he would ever want to have a lover again, and he cherished this hard-won love, but fate was so cruel to him. You use him. He’s so desperate. He called me last night and he said, “Alvin, am I miserable? Just now, Wilson’s youngest daughter came to mock me, saying that I’m worse than a fool. I think I might actually be worse than a fool, so I can’t love people like a normal person anymore.”
