Chapter 88 He Could Love Again

Book:The CEO's Seventh Bride Published:2024-5-1

A young woman was standing in the middle of the road running a red light under a night of flashing neon lights, and traffic was severely blocked. People in cars were poking their heads out, shouting, “Get out of the way. Get out of the way.”
Bella turned a deaf ear, like a zombie walking forward. When the green light came on, an off-road vehicle was speeding towards her. At the critical moment, a person quickly held her back. She slowly looked up, and was glad that her purpose has finally achieved. But unfortunately, she couldn’t feel warm in his eyes.
“Don’t do it in front of me if you want to die.”
Kevin crudely squeezed her wrist and threw her to the side. Bella was undeterred, and walked towards the middle of the road again. Kevin was completely furious, “Are you insane? There are many ways to die, so why do you have to choose here?”
“I just like this way.”
Bella looked at him sadly, and when she was crying, she walked forward again. Another car rushed towards her. Kevin could not bear to see her perish before his eyes and dragged her back again. Due to the rushing force of the car, they were thrown a long distance away, and Kevin’s arm was scraped and blood oozed out.
Beep-.
The piercing siren sounded in the night sky. There was a long queue of cars behind Kevin, and some impatient people poked their heads in and cursed, “Go home and quarrel. Don’t get in my way here again.”
“Shit, you can go to jump…”
More and more people were shouting. Kevin pulled Bella’s arm, shoved her into the back seat of the car, started the engine and drove away……
He drove to the beach, grimly took the lead in getting out of the car, then opened the back door, dragged Bella out, threw her on the beach without pity, and said coldly, “Remember, don’t appear in front of me again from now on.”
“Does that mean you’re going to divorce me?”
Bella choked, and stood hard from the beach.
“Do you feel the need to maintain this marriage?”
Kevin mocked, and looked chilling in his eyes. Bella had never seen before even during those days she was tortured by him.
“I won’t divorce you. You know that.”
Well, he smirked, “It doesn’t matter. You like living as a widow. No one will stop you.”
“Must you be so ruthless? If I say I’m sorry, will you listen to my explanation calmly?”
“No, I don’t want to hear any apologies from a hypocritical woman, because what she says would be just hypocritical.”
With a final cold glance at her, Kevin turned around and decided to get into the car, starting the engine to leave.
Bella rushed forward to stop the front of his car and said loudly, “If you really want to leave, then run over me first.”
He angrily pushed the door open and grabbed her by the neck and pushed her against the roof of the car, “Bella, I have given you a chance to explain and be forgiven, but you gave up. So now, stop pestering me without self-respect. I’m no longer interested in your explanations.”
He shook her hand hard and dumped Bella onto the beach again, and drove away.
Watching his car gradually disappeared in the distance, Bella could no longer hold back the tears. She suddenly made all the strength of her body to run along the coast, just want to expend all the strength, then she won’t be sad.
After running for a long time, she was exhausted and fell on the beach. It was like the night long ago, when she and Kevin stared at the countless twinkling stars, and she shed tears. In the face of a setback after bravery, how many more times did she need to try before she could see a glimmer of hope?
Why, there was only endless darkness before her eyes…
Bella came home from the beach and became sic. She couldn’t sleep well and had no appetite for food. That night the sea breeze was too strong, blowing on her thin body. So she contracted a severe cold. She couldn’t do the normal work.
After learning that she was sick, Alice rushed over to visit her. Looking at Bella who was lying on the bed, she was both heartbroken and sad, and angrily reprimanded, “I told you not to confess at first, but you insisted on confessing. Did Kevin forgive you?”
“There are no secrets forever. Do you think he’ll never know if I don’t tell him?” Bella retorted weakly.
“And how did he know that?”
“It doesn’t matter how he knows. All that matters is that he already knows.”
“Is he not going to forgive you?”
“Yes.”
Alice was sad, “Well, he’s the only man in the world. Louis even asked me about you this morning, he…”
“Alright.” Bella rubbed her forehead, “I don’t want to hear that right now.”
“So what are you going to do now? You’ll leave, right? If you don’t have anywhere to go, go to my home.”
“No, thanks.”
Bella was exhausted. Alice couldn’t bear to add to the burden on her, got up and said, “Then you rest, I’ll come back to see you another day.”
“Good.”
Alice sighed, turned around and went downstairs. Blanche kindly said to her, “Let’s eat dinner before you leave, shall we?”
“No, I’ve got things to do.”
She waved politely, looking towards the stairs, “Please have to take care of Bella. She’s pretty poor.”
“She is my daughter-in-law. I love her like my own daughter.”
Alice nodded. After a few minutes out of the Cloud Mansion, her phone rang. She saw it was Louis’s number, she sighed and answered, “Hello?”
“How’s she doing?”
“Not very well.”
“What are you going to do?”
“I don’t know, but she doesn’t go to leave that house.”
Louis was silent, and only after a long time did he say, “Okay, I know.”
After hanging up the phone, Alice felt doubly lost. If Louis could care for her as much as he did for Bella, even for a second, she would feel no regret in this life.
On the third day of Bella’s illness, Lena arrived at the Jones-Sharp Group. Of course, there was no way anyone would dare to stop her.
She went straight to the CEO’s office on the ninth floor, and Alvin was slightly surprised to see her, getting up and saying, “Lena, what are you doing here?”
“Where’s my brother?”
“Kevin is in a meeting.”
“Then I’ll wait for him here.”
Alvin poured a glass of water for her, “Why are you so preoccupied? Is something wrong?”
“You know what’s going on in our house.”
Alvin was startled and said comfortingly, “All couples quarrel. Kevin and Bella are adults and will deal with their feelings.”
Lena looked up and blinked with her clear eyes, asked, “Then in your eyes, am I just a child?”
“Aren’t you a child? You’re eighteen.”
“I’m eighteen, but I’m not an eighteen-year-old child, but an eighteen-year-old girl. Even if you don’t have to treat me like a woman, but at least, don’t take me as a child.”
Lena put down the glass of water in her hand, pushed open the door of her brother’s office, slammed it unhappily.
She sat in the office and waited for half an hour, Kevin returned from the meeting. She immediately ran over and questioned, “Brother, why didn’t you come home for several days?”
“Is something wrong?”
Kevin coldly raised his eyebrows, with stubble on his angular face, so Lena thought Kevin must be feeling bad.
“Bella is sick. She’s been sick for several days. Do you want to go back and see her?”
Kevin looked concerned, “She can go to the doctor.”
“But she is sick because of you. As long as you go back to see her, she’ll definitely recover soon.”
“I’m busy.”
He refused without hesitation, faking indifference.
Lena was anxious, “Brother, don’t be so heartless, okay? Even if Bella is lying to you, her love for you is real, isn’t it? It’s been a hard time for her because she hurt you.”
“Are you here to be a lobbyist for her? If so, get out now, I don’t have time or want to hear about her.”
“Brother, I’m not here to be a lobbyist for Bella. I’m just here to inform you that she’s sick, so just go back and see her, okay? Even if I beg…”
“Is that woman amazing? Are you going to intercede for her? You’re just a child. You haven’t seen many hypocritical sides of this world. Because you’re my sister, I give you a piece of advice, ‘Don’t think of anyone or anything so beautiful.'”
Lena was at loggerheads with Alvin about that he treated her as a child, this time her own brother mentioned this word that made her avoid it again, and couldn’t help but roar angrily, “Who is a child? Don’t think that just because you’re a few years older than me that you can teach me a lesson. I think you so-called adults are worse than me when you’re facing an emotional crisis!”
