Bella’s hands suddenly froze. She was surprised and looked up at him, shaking her head, “No… no… what’s wrong?”
“Nothing. I just thought you had something to say to me several times before. At that time I was busy with work and didn’t have time to listen. It suddenly came to mind, so I asked casually.”
Kevin finished, “Do you really have nothing to say?”
Bella’s heart was beating tremendously, looking at Kevin’s eyes, said, “No.”
He laughed again, leaned over and kissed her forehead, gently said, “Then I’m leaving.”
“Okay, bye.”
As soon as Kevin left the room. She fell weakly onto the sofa, thinking about his meaningful words just now, as if she had a premonition of something.
Bella came to school disoriented. In class, she made several small errors. After school, she and Alice walked out of the school side by side. Alice asked her, “Is everything okay? Why do you look disconcerted?”
She nodded and shook her head woodenly, unsure of how to respond.
“Are you okay? I don’t know what you mean.”
“Alice.”
She suddenly stopped and said seriously, “I…”
Before she could finish, she snapped back and looked around.
“What the hell is going on?”
“Why do I feel someone is spying on me?”
Alice laughed, “You’re having a mental breakdown, aren’t you? You’re not a big star. Who will ogle you?”
She took a deep breath, pulled her hand and said, “Let’s go to your house and talk.”
Bella came to Alice’s house, repeated the strange words that Kevin said in the morning, and asked Alice to give her an analysis of what he meant. Alice shrugged in disbelief, “You’re too nervous. It’s possible that he was just asking casually.”
“And what if he’s not just asking casually?”
“You’re thinking he knows something and is deliberately testing you, aren’t you?”
“It’s my gut feeling.”
“How is that possible? If he knew anything about it, he would have been angry long ago. How come he talked to you calmly? Wouldn’t you know more about Kevin than me?”
“But I just don’t feel right, could it be…”
“What’s going to happen?”
“I was writing in my diary last night when he burst in, and then in my panic, I forgot to lock my drawer and went to the bathroom to shower. Could it be that at that point he read my diary?”
Alice angrily pushed her, “Why are you still writing that stuff? How many times have I told you that you can’t keep that diary? It’s a disaster to keep it, so why don’t you listen?”
Bella was anxious, “Could it be that he actually read it? How would that be?”
“I don’t think so. He would definitely question you if he saw it. He neither asked you last night nor even in the morning. Kevin can’t put up with it.”
In spite of Alice’s efforts to reassure her, Bella was still uneasy. She anxiously walked back and forth in the room. Alice was dizzy from her walk, loudly protested, “Don’t walk back and forth. I feel dizzy.”
“No, I have to confess to him tonight, whether he sees it or not.”
She ran out, but Alice rushed out after her, dragging her downstairs, “You can’t confess!” She growled.
“Let me go. No one is going to stop me today. I’m breaking down, I have to confess everything to him and pray for his forgiveness!”
“Are you crazy? If Kevin knows what you did, he won’t forgive you. He will definitely break down before you do. If you want to see him break down, then you should go and confess to him.”
Bella resolutely ran forward, but Alice stopped her again, “I think you’re really crazy. You’ve crushingly forgotten Richard. Even if Kevin can forgive you for marrying him for revenge, can he forgive you for already having an engagement with Braxton ten years ago?”
“What’s wrong with having an engagement? We weren’t married.”
“And is your engagement off? Your engagement hasn’t been called off yet. You married him with an engagement to someone else. Do you think Kevin can accept such a flawed love?”
“Whether he accepts it or not, I have to say it today… I have to say it…”
Bella couldn’t help crying. Alice shed tears. She hugged Bella and said, “I’m not afraid that if you end up with Kevin, Louis will have a chance to chase after you. I just feel sorry for you. You had a hard time getting Kevin’s love. If you lose it because of impulse, how are you going to live? ”
“Alice, I’m so sorry, I really am regretful. Why did I have such dirty thoughts in the first place? Why did I want to take advantage of a man who has been hurt? Was I bad? I’m simply the worst woman in the world.”
“It’s not your fault. You didn’t know what kind of hurt he had suffered when you picked him. If you knew him long ago, like you knew Louis, then you must not have chosen him. In fact, I know exactly why you’ve been refusing to accept Louis’s feelings, because you didn’t want to hurt him, and to use him. How can you be considered a bad woman when you’re so unwilling to hurt your friend…”
Bella couldn’t hold on to her tears. She squatted on the ground pulling her hair. Long ago in the past she felt her life was tragic, but now, long after, she felt her life was ridiculous.
It was simply ridiculous and pathetic.
After the surrounding was quiet, the man who was hiding in a dark corner left with the VCR satisfied.
In the elegant environment of the cafe, Gillian looked at the man and the edited video, and was excited. She handed over a thick pile of envelopes containing money, smiled, “Thank you. I hope there will be a chance to cooperate next time.”
The man took the money, got up and said, “Okay, we’ll be in touch then.”
She repeatedly watched the video that was enough to let Bella to be desperate and said with hatred, “Let’s see how wise you are this time.”
This time she learned from her mistakes and didn’t ask Bella out, but directly mailed the video anonymously to the Cloud Mansion.
At noon on Saturday, Lena returned home from school. Blanche was surprised and asked her, “Why are you back at this time?”
She sat down on the couch, panted, and said, “I’m exhausted from playing basketball all morning.”
“Don’t any of you college students have to read? You play ball in the morning and go home for the afternoon.”
“College students don’t read these days. A fourth-year student would be made fun of as a nerd if they read.”
“Then I see Bella still read all day now. And she’s not turning into a nerd.”
“Bella is teaching students. I don’t have to teach students.”
“Then you just sit around after you graduate, right?”
Lena glared impatiently at Blanche, “Our family is so rich. I am a lazy good-for-nothing and you can still afford it.”
“If you are half as prosperous as Bella, I will be grateful.”
“Fine.”
Blanche was annoyed with her, got up and said, “I don’t talk nonsense with you. I’m going to sleep.”
“That’s right. I feel the same way. Mom, you should have thought of it that way a long time ago.”
Lena was in the large living room. She was bored holding a game console to play a game. The guard outside the door came over to inform, “Miss, what if there is a parcel from a young master that needs to be received by him?”
She looked up languidly, “Just sign for him and bring it in.”
“Oh good.”
The guard ran back again a moment later with a very tightly wrapped package in his hand, respectfully handing it to Lena, “Miss, please receive it.”
“Leave it there.”
Without even looking at it, she instructed him to put it on the table.
Two hours later, when the game console ran out of battery, she stretched and sat up, skimming the parcel by the table and muttered in wonder, “Someone else sends something to my brother. It’s strange, right?”
“What is it? It seems pretty light, so it shouldn’t be anything important…”
She took a look at the box curiously. Then she took a pair of scissors and opened it.
There was only a CD in the center of the box. Lena couldn’t help but throw it to the side in a bad mood, “A broken CD is still wrapped in mystery. I think it is a treasure before.”
She got up and went to the kitchen to find something to eat to return to the living room. She casually slipped the disc into the DVD, waiting to play the DVD with interest. But what she didn’t expect was that the disc turned out to be…
The apple she bit into her mouth stuck hard between her throat. Lena stared at the screen. She was dumb, and only after a long time did she react to pull out the disc.
Holding the disc in her hand, she couldn’t describe how she was feeling. She was confused, helpless, shocked, panicked, and at a loss for words.
