Chapter 82 No secrets forever(1)

Book:The CEO's Seventh Bride Published:2024-5-1

Kevin picked up the car keys straight out of the office, completely ignoring Gillian. Gillian did not give up and followed out, crying out hysterically, “Kevin, please believe me. Okay, I swear to God. What I said is all true.”
“I’m warning you, don’t follow me again!”
Kevin’s gaze was sharp as he glared at her. Gillian was shocked and stood on the spot, not daring to move, but muttered, “Whether you believe it or not, what I said is the truth…”
When he got home, Bella hadn’t returned, so he took out his cell phone and called her, “Where are you?”
“I am having dinner with Alice. Do you want to come over?”
“Oh no, I just want to hear your voice, so you guys go on.”
“Okay.”
Bella hung up the phone and Alice asked, “Who is it? Kevin?”
“Yeah.”
“You guys seem to be getting along pretty well.”
“It is good.”
Bella was a little preoccupied, “Alice…” She called her friend’s name softly, and Alice frowned, “What’s wrong?”
“Do you think people who love each other shouldn’t have secrets?”
“What do you mean?”
“Even if the secret hurts the other person, he shouldn’t be kept secret.”
“Can you be honest? I don’t get your words.”
Bella hesitated and confessed truthfully, “Regarding my purpose in marrying Kevin, I want to confess to him.”
Alice shook her head in horror, “No, never.”
“Why?”
“What man can accept a woman using him as a tool for revenge, not to mention that Kevin has been cheated by a woman before.”
“But if I don’t say it, I feel guilty all the time. I’m hesitant. I’ve wanted to speak up many times, but I’m afraid he won’t be able to accept it. I care about this hard-won relationship.”
“Since you care, you must guard it well. You are a fool to confess everything to a man. Even a couple has secrets. He loves you now, but he will not always forgive you. You can not take the risk.”
Alice’s words caused Bella to hesitate. She was struggling.
“But I always feel that even if I don’t say anything, this won’t be hidden for long. No secret will last forever…”
“That’s at least until you and Kevin love each other more deeply, by then even if he can’t accept it, he won’t be willing to end the marriage. Don’t you think it’s not the right time? You’ve only just fallen in love.”
Bella struggled with this. She woke up every morning and told herself that she must confess, but every night before going to sleep, she told herself that it was better to confess tomorrow. The days passed. She did not have the courage to confess.
She didn’t have enough confidence in Kevin’s love for her.
Kevin was working in the study. Bella came back, stood by the door and smiled, “Hi, I’m back.”
“Come over and give me a kiss.”
She gently walked over to him, and left a sweet kiss on his cheek.
“What’s for dinner?”
“Not crabs anyway.”
He chuckled, “Are you scared of crabs?”
“It’s more than scared. It’s simply making me sick.”
“Then next time I’ll take you out for northeast food.”
“Yeah, and a pot of schnapps would be perfect.”
They smiled at each other, and Bella stretched her back, “Are you going to be working long? I’m going to take a shower first.”
“Yes, it might be late, You can go wash up and go to bed.”
She nodded and turned to walk out the door, and was about to step out of the threshold when Kevin suddenly called out to her, “Bella.”
“Huh?”
She turned back with a pair of large and clear eyes blinking.
Looking at her eyes, Kevin swallowed back the words, “Forget it, it’s fine, you go.”
Bella smiled and closed the door. Kevin breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, he didn’t ask what he shouldn’t have asked, or, she would definitely feel that he didn’t love her enough. Wasn’t love trusting each other?
Bella took a shower, came to her secret room, took out a small key, opened the desk drawer. In the center of the drawer, there was a dark green diary. When she was very young, she had the habit of writing a diary, because there were too many sad things to talk to others, so writing a diary became the only way to vent her bitterness.
Halfway through writing, the door of the secret room was suddenly pushed open. Kevin walked in, “Right, the contract your father signed today is not stamped. So tomorrow you inform him to bring his stamp to the company.”
Bella didn’t expect him to appear so suddenly, panicked, and closed the diary and stuffed it into the drawer. Incoherently, she promised, “Okay… okay.”
“You haven’t showered yet.”
“I’m going right away.”
She stood up in a panic, pulling Kevin out. Kevin looked back at the drawer that she had closed, and then skimmed her panicked expression. He became inexplicably gloomy.
Bella got into the bathroom, but Kevin did not leave the room. He looked at the door of the secret room, and was hesitated for a long time, quietly returned to the room.
Standing in front of the desk, he hesitated. Although he knew that this kind of behavior was not good, in the end, he still could not hold back, reached out and pulled open the drawer, skimming the dark green diary.
Kevin thought about Gillian’s words, but also thought about Bella’s expression just now, uneasily opened the diary.
He didn’t flip from the last page, nor from the first page, but the middle. He settled down to look at the first diary and was shocked,
March thirteenth, sunny.
Today, my revenge plan, which I have planned for many years, has finally made the first success. I heard that the abnormal man often divorced and his mom believes in Buddhism. Therefore, I bribed the eminent monk of King Hills and asked him to tell the old lady that the tragedy of her son’s divorce after divorce could be avoided only by marrying a woman of the compound surname. The old lady believed it. Next, Wilson and Colin will send their daughter to apply for a large amount of betrothal money, and I am the best candidate. I will take this opportunity to let that man fall in love with me and trample on those who once bullied me.
Kevin’s hand shook and the diary fell to the ground. He closed his eyes in pain. The moon outside the window reflected on his face. He was pale.
He did not want to see the second part of the letter. He went out of the secret room sadly. Into the study, skimming the water cup placed by the desk, he picked it up and angrily shot to the wall. The cup was broken, and his hand was hurt. Bright red blood dripped down his trembling fingers to the floor.
The first time he was cheated was an accident, but the second time he was cheated was due to foolishness. Kevin felt exceedingly painful.
The door was knocked, outside the door came the voice of Bella, “Kevin, why did you lock the door?”
He took a deep breath, turned calm, and got up to pick up the glass of water from the floor and toss it into the trash can, and wiped the blood stains from the wall before he went to the door and opened it.
“What happened to you?”
Bella looked at him nervously. He smiled, “Nothing, I just fell asleep on the table.”
His injured hand was behind his back. He deliberately didn’t let her see it. Bella bit her lip, “Don’t make it too late, get some rest early.”
“Okay.”
Looking at her back as she turned away, he was heartbroken. He really shouldn’t fall in love with her and let himself hurt again without warning.
In the late night, he came out of the study and walked into the bedroom. Beside the bedside table in the bedroom, a small warm yellow light was on. The soft light shone on Bella’s face. Her breath was so even that her eyelashes occasionally flickered, as if sensing that someone was looking at her attentively.
Kevin gently lay down, reached out to the uninjured hand and wrapped it around her slender waist.
The lights went out, and he felt hopeless.
In the morning, Bella woke up, and saw Kevin’s handsome side face. She fumbled to get up, tiptoed into the bathroom.
When she came out, Kevin was already awake. He was leaning on the bed, smoking.
She was slightly startled, as she had never seen him get up early in the morning to smoke. She was confused, and was about to ask when she found his hand wrapped in gauze, “What’s wrong with your hand?”
Kevin smiled, “It’s fine. I accidentally hurt by the metal piece on the bookshelf.”
“Is it serious? Let’s see.”
“It’s not serious, just a little scraped.”
He stubbed out half the cigarette in his hand, lifted the blanket and got out of bed. Bella hurriedly took out the shirt from the wardrobe and handed it to him. After putting on the shirt, Kevin went into the bathroom to wash up. Standing by the mirror by the sink, he showed a cold and desperate smile.
Before leaving the house, Bella tied his tie for her as usual, and didn’t find anything unusual about him. Suddenly, he asked meaningfully, “Do you have anything you want to say to me?”
