In the meantime, Kevin saw Bella laden with anxiety standing in the same place, and he frowned, “Why don’t you go?”
“Well… I guess… if you’re really busy… maybe you should go home…”
To avoid any misunderstanding, Bella braced herself to say, knowing how glum Kevin should be.
As expected, he was very angry, “You’re making fool of me, aren’t you?”
“No, absolutely not. I just don’t want to force you.”
“It’s okay. Although I dislike participating in such an event, I dislike it even more to give up halfway.”
After Kevin said that, he took the lead and stepped into the hall. So Bella had a bear by the tail, prepared for the worst and was to take one step at a time.
They only walked in, and a group of colleagues surrounded. Bella look askance at a pair of sharp eyes in the distance and was so shocked that she hid behind Kevin, so that she did not hear what the colleagues said.
Louis was shocked when he gazed at Bella. He looked handsome and confused. He did not directly rush up to question her, but asked the person who was most closely related to her in a deep voice, “How would Bella be with Kevin?”
Alice was worried. There were so many people here, but why he asked here. It was not a hard question, and anyone could answer it.
“Hey, does Mr. Hunter also know Mr. Jones-Sharp?”
She asked a very idiotic question with a smile on her face. People from B City all knew Kevin. Leaving aside his illustrious family background, everyone knew about his legendary marriage.
“What do you think?”
Louis raised eyebrows.
Alice continued to laugh more stiffly, “In fact, you can probably guess it. This is our school’s anniversary event, and people who come together to participate in of course are…” She really couldn’t bear to say the word couple.
Louis was more uneasy, and Alice was very straightforward. But he couldn’t accept it. It was too absurd, and was simply impossible, “Can you make it clearer?”
Seeing that he was so insisted, Alice made it clear, “Kevin is Bella’s husband. They held their wedding ten days ago.”
Time seemed to stand still at that moment. Louis stared at the woman he had loved for two years in the distance, and suddenly felt that the end was near and desperate.
Bella skimmed Louis’s gloomy eyes, helpless and guilty. Emotionally she never gave him hope, but he looked as if she had betrayed her.
“No wonder you let me go back first, so there is your lover over here.”
Kevin snorted, looking askance at Louis.
“What lover? You don’t talk nonsense.”
Bella glared at him, being more and more embarrassed.
“Don’t you dare say that man has nothing to do with you? If it’s the case, will he keep staring at you? And you’ve been hiding behind me since the moment you walked in the door.”
“That’s our principal. He didn’t know I was married, so he was probably a little surprised.”
“Surprised?”
Kevin was even more unhappy, and sneered, “Look closely. Is that look of surprise or anger?”
“Why does he look angry? You have a problem with your eyes, don’t you? Forget it, let’s go back. Don’t want to stay here and find fault with me all the time.”
Bella turned to leave, but her arm was suddenly pulled hard. And before she could react, she had been forcibly pulled out of the hall, and she questioned in panic, “What are you doing, Mr. Hunter?”
“Talk to me.”
Louis forced her into the car rapidly, slammed the door, and started the engine and drove away…
Bella blanked and the only thought was that she was doomed. How could Kevin let her go? In front of him, she was taken away by a man. She just now explained that they had nothing to do with each other. She couldn’t explain it clearly.
