The sun set, emitting a soft light, neither intense, nor harsh, but very warm.
Bella finished he school’s work and went back to the Jones-Sharps. The large living room was empty. She went straight upstairs, pushed open the door of Kevin’s bedroom, and walked straight towards her secret room. She suddenly stopped, glanced at the right, and was shocked.
Kevin actually ordered people to change the bed. Yesterday it was a white bed with black bed linen, but today it was a black bed with white bed linen. She circled around the bed three times, trying to figure out the reason why a man hated women so much…
Even if she touched his bed, changing the bed linen was enough. Did he need to change the bed too? He was hard to get along with. No wonder the frequency of divorce was so high.
Bella breathed a long sigh of relief, turned around and entered her secret room, changed her professional suits, and went downstairs again. Kevin’s sister, Lena was sitting on the living room’s sofa. Bella came up with an idea and thought that her sister-in-law was straightforward, perhaps she could learn something from her.
“Lena.”
She called softly. Lena who was playing with her phone looked up at once, sweetly greeting, “Hi, Bella.”
“Where did mommy go?”
“Mama’s gone to the King Hills.” Lena said archly, “To thank God for giving her a good daughter-in-law.”
Bella smiled apologetically and sat beside her, looking around, while no one was back, “Can I ask you a question?”
“Yes, what’s the problem?”
Lena was really easy to talk to.
“Why does your brother always get married and divorced so often?”
“Hey…”
Lena sighed, “How come every newly married sister-in-law likes to ask this question, and why do they all like to ask me?”
Bella was embarrassed.
“I didn’t tell any of them before, but since you asked, I’ll reveal a little bit. Since I like you.”
She looked out the door and said in a low voice, “Actually, my brother got married and divorced was because he was too indifferent to women, with no enthusiasm at all. He is picky about details, and after a long time, it’s hard for any woman to stick around even if her material life is rich.”
Bella agreed with it.
“He never lets any woman stay in the house for a full three months. Either you leave of your own accord or he tries to force you to leave. Do you know how exaggerated he is? My fourth sister-in-law stayed at my house for two months, and until the time she left, he didn’t even know her name. Hey, my parents are really worried…”
“But why would he do that? He must be …”
“He must be nuts, right? That’s what I think.”
“Is he really?”
Bella covered her mouth in surprise. Although she knew there had to be a reason, she didn’t even think about it.
“It’s not what you think either. It’s actually…”
“Do you speak ill of your brother behind his back, Lena?”
A terrifying questioning voice suddenly came from behind her, and the two women froze and were suddenly dumbfounded. Bella only felt nervous. She wasn’t that much of a gossipy woman, but she let herself get caught up in gossip because of a moment of curiosity.
Lena woodenly leaned closer to her and stuck to her ear and quickly said, “In my brother’s dictionary, the most inescapable word is ‘betrayal’. I’ve already betrayed my brother for you. When my brother gets angry, the consequences are very serious. Bella, I gotta go.”
Lena fled…
