Summer could not think of anyone who could go against the Moos.
Just then, the doorbell rang again.
Summer went to the door and peeked through the spyhole. Tim was standing outside, so she opened the door.
“Is there anything, Tim?”
She only noticed that Tim had also brought a few bodyguards with him after she opened the door.
“The young master has asked me to come.” Tim bowed.
Summer stepped aside and ushered him inside, “Please come in.”
In her mind, Tim was someone she could trust.
“I’m stepping in, Mrs. Emerson. I am here to bring you to the bridal shop so that you can choose your wedding dress. We can go now if you are ready.”
Summer was struck dumb when she heard what Tim said. She remembered what Leonardo had told her but did not expect him to arrange things so quickly. It seemed that he was desperate to get married.
“Where’s Leonardo?” she asked with a frown.
“The young master is attending to something else.” Tim was still as polite as ever.
“What about Rosie? Where is she?”
“She is at the young master’s house.” Speaking of Rosie, a smile spread across Tim’s face.
“What if I tell you that I’m not going to see the wedding dresses?”
“Then I will have them come to you. What do you think, Mrs. Emerson?” Tim’s tone and facial expression were unusually serious as if he had thought twice before he spoke.
“Tim!” Summer raised her voice. “You know very well this is not the right time to talk about marriage. There are still many unresolved issues. Why didn’t you explain this to him?”
When Leonardo sent him to make arrangements for their wedding, he was a little dumbfounded too. It just happened all of a sudden.
He had gotten married and divorced, then remarried again. He understood that marriage was a major decision and should be considered carefully.
Sometimes, two loving people should not rush into a marriage.
He married his wife right after college. They were too young at that time, so when problems arose later, they quickly got tired of it and decided to let go.
Leonardo and Summer had gone through so many things. As an outsider, Tim felt tired just from seeing it all unfold, but he hoped the best for them.
Leonardo was too domineering. His way of doing things was often too extreme.
In Leonardo’s world, when he wanted to do something, he was determined to see it through.
“How can I stop him when even you can’t, Mrs. Emerson?”
Summer did not know what to say. Leonardo was too arrogant to listen to another’s advice.
“The young master is eccentric. No one can stop him if he wants to do something. I know that a wedding to you and him is just a formality. What you don’t like about him is his attitude.”
Tim’s words really struck a chord with Summer. She was silent for a while.
He knew what Summer was thinking about. “The young master has some character flaws, and you know that well enough. His condition has only become worse after his hypnosis. But, you should also know that he still loves you, and that has never changed.”
Summer had worked out what Tim meant. It basically told her two things: one, Leonardo was the way he was, but his love for her was as great ever; two, the wedding was on whether she liked it or not—no one could defy Leonardo.
“Let’s look at it from another angle: you can do whatever you want to him after the wedding,” Tim said when he did not get a response from Summer.
Summer was still frowning at what Tim had said earlier. Hearing his words again, only shock was left on her face.
“Tim, you should have become a relationship expert. What a shame.”
Tim hemmed, feeling embarrassed.
Working as a special assistant was a tough job. Not only did he have to carry out every task that his superior assigned to him on normal days, but he also had to help his superior take care of his relationship problems. He was probably a one-of-a-kind special assistant in this world.
There was a fleeting sense of helplessness on his face. “Do you have time to view the wedding dresses now, Mrs. Emerson?”
“Why not.” Summer took a deep breath. “Leonardo is so desperate to marry me, and he can’t wait to share his wealth with me, so why not?”
…
Summer followed Tim to the bridal shop.
Tim’s insight had worked its way into Summer’s mind.
Leonardo would do anything to achieve his goal. To put it nicely, the man was smart. In all honesty, however, he was cunning. Summer’s petty tricks were just child’s play in front of him.
Unfortunately, she could not do anything about him. Just as Tim had suggested, she might as well marry him and then do whatever she wanted with him later.
Summer sat inside the car, looking at buildings that were flying past her outside the window. Her keen eyes caught a glimpse of the sign of a venture capital company, and a thought suddenly came to mind.
“Stop the car,” she said abruptly.
Tim looked back at Summer. “Mrs. Emerson?”
“Go to Emerson Group. I want to see Leonardo.” A smile spread across her face.
Tim did not ask why and just drove straight to Emerson Group.
She used to bring Rosie along to visit Leonardo in his office, using his private elevator that led straight from the basement parking up to his office.
“Stop the car here. I’ll go in through the lobby,” she said when the car arrived outside the main entrance.
Tim glanced at her, wide-eyed, but said nothing. He stopped the car in front of the main entrance.
She opened the car door and got out without waiting for the bodyguards to assist her.
“Please give a minute to park the car, Mrs. Emerson,” Tim said when he saw her in such a hurry.
Summer had never gone into Emerson Group through the main entrance. Hence, the receptionists would surely give her a hard time.
“Park the car first,” she said.
She looked up at the towering Emerson Group building and marched into the lobby. The moment she stepped inside, the receptionists immediately recognized her, appearing surprised.
“Do you have an appointment?”
Summer chuckled. “How do you know that I’m here to see someone when you don’t know me?”
A fleeting sense of awkwardness flashed across the receptionist’s face.
Nonetheless, she remained professional and smiled politely. “Are you looking for someone?”
“Yes, I’m here to see your president, Leonardo.” She paused for a second, then continued, “Is he in?”
“He is in, but you have to make an appointment if you would like to see him.”
The receptionists looked at her with disdain when Summer mentioned that she wanted to see Leonardo. They had likely read the news online as well.
