Their voices of disagreement disappeared amid the kisses.
There was no way Summer could get away from Leonardo, considering how pushy and domineering he was. Not to mention, there was his physical strength.
After a long while, Leonardo finally let her go.
Her body shivered from anger. She raised her hand, about to slap him, but her hand stopped in the air. She could not bring herself to do it.
The past few years had not been easy for the two of them. After so many things happened, she could not bring herself to hit Leonardo no matter how angry she was.
She pulled back her hand and repeated her question. “You remember everything?”
“No,” he said without thinking.
There was a subtle change in Summer’s expression, and he seemed to notice it. “Not everything.”
“What do you remember, then?” She still sounded a little cold as she tilted her head to look at him.
His lips moved, but he only spoke after a few seconds. “I remember… in the Golden Cauldron, someone drugged me, and our first time.”
Summer was startled, and she appeared unnerved as she pursed her lips. “What else?”
“Nothing else.” Leonardo looked her in the eye.
Being eye to eye with him, Summer turned away after a few seconds.
She trusted that Leonardo was telling the truth. After all, there was no reason for him to lie.
He recalled their first time…
That meant he had been thinking about their relationship, hence why he had been so solicitous over the past few days.
Thinking back carefully, Leonardo had indeed done nothing in particular. Yet, compared with his previous behavior, he seemed really eager lately.
Summer had mentally prepared herself to wait long ago. His recent unusual behavior gave the impression that he might have recalled something. But she dared not assume that he had remembered it all.
She had likely gotten used to this version of Leonardo and had little hope for the previous version of him to return.
So, when Leonardo told her that he did not remember everything, she found it easier to accept.
She looked out the window. “Why didn’t you tell me? Since you remembered something, why didn’t you tell me?”
She waited for a long while, but there was no answer from him.
Summer pulled her sight back in and saw Leonardo staring at her attentively.
It was not until she looked back at him and met his eyes that he suddenly snapped out of his daze. His eyes moved, but he said nothing.
That made her hackles rise again.
“It’s fine if you don’t want to talk. We’ll only talk about Stanley when you’re ready to talk. No matter what you think of him and his motives, we can’t change the fact that he has saved my life and is my savior.”
At first, she thought that she would only punish Leonardo once he recovered his memories, letting him experience whatever he put her through.
However, when he started to remember something, they ended up quarreling. Due to Stanley, they ended up quarreling.
She had been trying to see things from Leonardo’s perspective because she knew what he had gone through during his teenage years and understood his dark side. Therefore, she empathized with him on many things.
Be that as it may, she was not going to compromise when it came to Stanley.
It was true that Stanley’s appearance, his saving of her life three years ago, and his taking care of her for three years seemed illogical in some ways. It seemed like he had hidden her away after he rescued her. Yet, at the same time, he did not stop people from looking for her and identifying her. Instead, he brought her back to Hoover and did not avoid the place on purpose.
Stanley was shrouded in a strange mystery, but on the account that he rescued her, she could not bring herself to judge him with malice. He might have his reasons that he could not share.
Summer admitted that she was a soft-hearted person. The Mu Family had never paid attention to her since she was little. She found it hopeless to seek storge at this point, but whenever someone held out a helping hand or showed her kindness, she would remember it.
She knew Leonardo’s temperament too well and had noticed his hostility toward Stanley for a while.
Back when they were in the mountains, it seemed weird to her that Leonardo would talk about seeing Stanley for treatment.
What transpired and what Leonardo said today were enough to show her that he was targeting Stanley.
Leonardo did not respond even though she had said so much.
His face was impassive as he drove the car.
Since he said nothing, it was only natural that Summer did not want to speak too.
However, as they drove along, she discovered that they were heading in the wrong direction. It was not the way to her home.
“We’re going in the wrong direction.” She looked over and reminded Leonardo.
“This is correct.” He did not look at her.
He kept his eyes straight ahead, appearing serious. He had always been serious in whatever he did.
“This road doesn’t lead to my neighborhood.” She raised her voice but spoke slowly.
Leonardo glanced over at her this time. “This road leads to our home.”
Only then did she realize that Leonardo wanted to bring her to his mansion.
She pressed her lips together and remained silent for a moment. “I don’t feel like going now.”
The last time she checked, they were still in a quarrel.
Even if she moved to Leonardo’s place, seeing each other every day might cause more arguments.
Yet, he ignored her protest. The car did not slow down one bit, instead, it continued to speed toward his mansion.
“Did you hear what I said?” she raised her voice when he did not reply.
At last, he spoke, but his voice sounded nonchalant. “Come on, we’re almost there.”
“I’m serious!” she said. Leonardo was still difficult to reason with even though he had recovered a part of his memories.
In Leonardo’s world, others did not matter. He only cared about what he wanted or did not want.
Summer realized that it was useless to talk to him now. She looked away and stared out the window.
It was upsetting to see him.
When the car stopped in front of the mansion, a bodyguard came up to open the door for them, but Leonardo stopped him.
Instead, he got out of the car, went around to the front passenger side, and opened the door. “Here we are.”
Summer shot him an indifferent glance and walked straight into the mansion with her arms folded in front. She purposely left Leonardo behind her.
The moment she stepped inside the living room, Rosie scurried over.
“Mommy!”
Summer looked down at her and wanted to carry her. “What happened to your mouth, Mommy?” Rosie suddenly asked.
