Chapter 483 Send Mrs. Emerson Home

The plane landed at Hoover International Airport.
Tim had made prior arrangements for the bodyguards to pick them up at the airport.
So, the moment Summer, as well as Leonardo, emerged from the terminal, a few bodyguards came up to them and bowed their heads slightly as they greeted them.
Leonardo turned to Summer. “Where are you going?”
Summer had gotten a little immune after Leonardo’s cold treatment for the past two days.
“Visit Rosie at your place.” Her expression did not change.
Leonardo looked at Tim with no emotion on his face. “Let’s go back to the office.”
He then walked toward one of the cars.
The bodyguards had driven a few cars to pick them up. Knowing that Leonardo was going to the office, a bodyguard opened the car door for him.
Tim glanced at Leonardo as he made his way and told the other bodyguard, “Send Mrs. Emerson home.”
Summer could not have cared less about what Tim said. “I’ll leave some of the stuff that the elderly man gave us at your house,” she said as she caught up to Leonardo.
Leonardo was ducking to get inside the car when he heard her. He paused and glanced back at her. “No need. You can have it all.”
Then, he got into the car.
The bodyguard closed the door and nodded at Summer respectfully before he walked away. Tim was behind the wheel and heading to the office with Leonardo.
Summer looked on as the car drove off into the distance. She took a deep breath before she got into the other car.
Leonardo’s capriciousness was making it hard for her to understand him.
The bodyguard sent Summer straight to Leonardo’s home.
When Rosie saw Summer, she was so happy that she ran straight into her arms.
“Mommy!”
Rosie had seemingly gained some weight. When Summer carried her, she felt a tad heavier than the last time.
“Did you have your meals regularly and go to sleep on time when Mommy and Daddy were away?” Summer carried her over to the sofa and sat down.
A maid proceeded to serve her a glass of water.
“Thank you,” Summer said softly.
“Yeah!” Rosie answered loudly and stuck her neck out to look at the main entrance through which Summer had entered.
Summer followed her eyes and looked over. After two seconds, Rosie shifted her gaze back to Summer. “Where’s Daddy?”
Summer’s face instantly collapsed with a hint of sadness in her eyes. “Daddy’s gone to the office. He has work to do.”
“Oh.” Rosie did not sound very happy, but she soon became cheerful again.
It was okay that her dad was not around as long as her mom was there.

Summer planned to go home after she accompanied Rosie for a while.
As she was leaving, Rosie held her hand, wanting to go with her.
“Mommy will come again tomorrow.” Summer patted Rosie on the head.
“No…” Rosie pouted, clinging on to Summer as her eyes welled up.
Looking at Rosie was too much to bear, and Summer finally gave in. “Let me call Daddy first and give him a heads-up, okay?”
“Mhm.” Rosie quickly nodded.
She might have still been a child, but she would listen if people talked to her patiently and sensibly.
Rosie was craving for love. It did not help that she grew up with the company of maids and a strict father.
Children enjoyed the company of gentle and pretty women more than others. Deep inside every child was an inborn emotional dependency on his or her mother.
Summer carried Rosie in her arms as she took out her mobile phone to call Leonardo.
It surprised her that Leonardo picked up her call after only two rings.
“What is it?” His voice was as frigid as always.
“I’m at your house now. Rosie wants to go home with me, so I’m thinking of letting her stay with me for a few days.” Summer did not really think that Leonardo would agree to it. She was thinking about what to say when Leonardo rejected her request. However, that turned out to be unnecessary because he agreed.
“Sure.” There was no emotion in his voice. “Is there anything else?”
Summer bit back the words she was about to say and was transfixed for a second. “That’s all.”
“I have a meeting coming up.”
Summer knew that Leonardo was telling her to hang up and not bother him anymore.
Since he had agreed to let Rosie stay with her for a few days, she did not want to say more.
“I’ll leave you to it, then. Bye.”
As she finished, she waited for Leonardo to hang up first as usual.
The Leonardo who would always let her hang up first no longer existed. Instead, she had gotten used to letting him end the call.
Yet, she discovered that Leonardo did not immediately hang up.
Soon after, Tim’s voice rang out on the other end. “The meeting is starting now, Young Master.”
Summer quickly hung up once she heard that.
As she put her mobile phone, she saw Rosie looking at her expectantly with her big round eyes.
Summer reached out to pinch her face gingerly. “Guess what your daddy said?”
“He said okay!” Rosie nodded as if she knew.
“Bingo!” Summer put her down. “Is there anything you’d like to bring?”
Rosie tilted her head and thought for a moment. “The little tiger.”
Summer knew that she was referring to the soft toy that Leonardo bought for her.
Rosie had clothes, toiletries, and everything else at Summer’s place, so she did not need to bring anything else.
Summer helped her retrieve her little tiger, and they left together.
The same bodyguard who picked Summer up from the airport sent them home.
Her house had been vacant for a week, so dust inevitably gathered in her home during her absence.
While Summer cleaned the house, Rosie was disruptively helpful. Hence, Summer thought she might as well give Rosie a pair of gloves and put on an apron for her.
Due to her small size, Rosie looked funny with the gloves and apron on.
Summer rolled the apron up for her because she was afraid that Rosie would trip on the oversized apron.
She found an old newspaper and folded it into a pointed hat for Rosie, who became excited and scampered around in the house.
With Rosie around, Summer took longer than usual to finish the job.
Lucky for her, the house was not too dusty. It just needed a simple cleaning.
After all that was done, Summer took off her gloves and apron. Then, it was Rosie’s turn.
When she helped Rosie take off her gloves and apron, the little girl was very cooperative. However, when Summer reached out to take her pointed hat off, Rosie stopped her.
“You like it?” Summer could not help but ask.
“Yeah.” She nodded her head quickly.
“Okay, you can keep it on.” Children were playful and interested in novel things, so Summer let her be. She even helped Rosie adjust her pointed hat.
The doorbell suddenly rang. She had just gotten home a while ago. Who would be looking for her at this time?
“Did you hear the doorbell ring?”
“I’ll open the door!”
Rosie enthusiastically volunteered. Halfway to the door, she dropped her pointed hat, but she picked it up and continued to run.
Once she reached the door, she opened it with effort and lunged toward the person outside.
Summer went over, and the person was none other than Leonardo.
