Chapter 466 Thirty-year-old Man

Summer had nothing more to say since Leonardo declined her offer so categorically.
She walked Rosie and Leonardo downstairs later. Outside the apartment building, the water reached her ankle as she stepped on the ground.
She was wearing a pair of flip-flops, which were submerged now.
Pulling back her foot, she turned to look at Leonardo. “The rain’s too heavy. It’s not safe to go now.”
Rosie stood under the roof of the building, looking at her surroundings in awe. “Waa, it’s raining heavily!”
Leonardo glanced at the sky and saw that it was indeed still pouring. His brows were furrowed, and he said nothing.
Silence meant consent, so Summer took it as a yes.
“The rain’s too heavy, so you can’t go tonight.” Summer patted Rosie on the head. “Let’s go back up, Rosie.”
She nudged Rosie toward Leonardo.
Rosie went ahead and held his hand. “Let’s go back in, Daddy.”
He glanced down at Rosie and then at Summer before he walked back to the elevator. He had decided to stay.
Back in the house, Summer took out the extra duvet to make the bed.
This rented house of hers was large enough to accommodate them all. She and Rosie could sleep together in one room, and there was still an extra guest room, which had never been used ever since she moved in.
Summer knew Leonardo’s temperament well. She carefully wiped the mattress down with a towel before she placed the duvet on top.
Before she was done, Leonardo came over. “Rosie wants you to give her a shower.”
Summer was occupied, so she did not look up. “Just a minute, I’ll be there.”
The bed was 1. 8 meters long, and the bedsheet was a little too large for it. Holding the corner of the cover with one hand, she shoved the duvet in, but it slipped from her hand.
She rummaged around for a good while before she found the corner of the duvet again.
Leonardo suddenly took a couple of steps forward and reached out to hold up the other corner.
She stared at him in surprise. “You…”
Leonardo pressed his lips together and frowned at her. “Let go.”
Summer released her grip as Leonardo smoothened the duvet, which was then perfectly shoved inside the cover.
She had never seen him making the bed before. That was the first time.
“You know how to set the duvet?” She was in utter surprise.
She knew that it was not something Leonardo would normally do, considering his background, but she still could not help asking.
Leonardo stood up, his face calm. “Not all humans are the same. Some are born to be different.”
Summer felt slighted, but she was used to seeing his haughty attitude. Thus, she did not make a fuss out of it.
People were indeed made up of distinct individuals. With the exception of birth, people would differ a little from each other.
Summer looked at him, unruffled. “I’ll get you a new toothbrush.”
Then off she went. Leonardo looked on and frowned.
He got the feeling that Summer had suddenly become more amiable.

After she handed Leonardo a new toothbrush, she proceeded to give Rosie a shower.
She took out the foamy shower liquid for children that Rosie normally used and allowed Rosie to create foam with it.
Rosie played with the foam and said, “Let’s be together, Mommy!”
“You finish up first. Only then will it be Mommy’s turn.”
Rosie shook her head from side to side.
She realized that Rosie was not talking about the shower. “What do you want to say?”
Rosie tilted her head and held out her fingers before she started counting. “Me, Daddy, us together.”
She popped one finger up each time she mentioned a person, looking serious.
Summer sighed. “I’ve been busy recently, so I have to stay alone. Stay with Daddy for now, okay. Once I’m free, I’ll move back to stay with you two.”
Rosie was too young to understand such things. Summer just needed to cajole her.
“Oh.” Rosie nodded as if she had understood. “When will you be free?” she asked matter-of-factly.
“I’m not so sure.” How would she know when Leonardo would rediscover his love for her, or recover from his amnesia?
Rosie chuckled and squinted. “Neither am I.”
After Rosie’s shower, Summer carried her back to the bedroom, and Rosie fell asleep in no time.
The temperature dropped since it was raining, so Summer pulled the duvet over Rosie, then added another blanket on top.
As she stepped out of Rosie’s room, she could not help but look at Leonardo’s bedroom.
The door was shut, and she stood on the spot for a few seconds before she went off to get her clothes and take a shower. Just then, the door was opened.
Leonardo stood in the doorway, hair damp with an annoyed expression on his face. “There’s no shampoo.”
He still had his shirt on, but it was half-wet, and he looked like an unkempt teenager. However, he’s obviously a thirty-year-old man! she thought to herself.
“I’ll get you a bottle.”
She did not realize that she was smiling while talking. When Leonardo saw that, his face darkened instantly.
Summer went to the shower room in her bedroom and came back out with a bottle of shampoo. Just then, she hesitated.
She had used the shampoo before. Would Leonardo mind? But even if he minded, he would have to make do with it.
She handed the shampoo to him. “Here you go.” She sounded proud of herself.
Leonardo frowned as he took the shampoo. Then he went back in and shut the door tightly as if Summer was a voyeur.
At first, Summer was desperate for Leonardo to recover his memories, and every time he did something to reject her, she would feel miserable.
Yet, after she thought things through, she found his different behaviors funny.
She knocked on the door to remind him, “Don’t forget to pass it back to me once you’re done!”
She could not help but laugh after saying what she said. It just felt so juvenile.

Summer woke up very early the next morning, thinking that Leonardo had to go back to work.
The rain had stopped, and she opened the windows to let in the fresh air. Rainwater had created quite a number of gullies in the soil of the flower beds outside. It showed how heavy the rain was last night.
Summer opened all of the windows in her living room, and only then did she go off to prepare breakfast in the kitchen.
It was not like the family of three were able to live together. Summer was in a good mood and had made something extra for breakfast.
While reheating the milk, she took out her mobile phone to surf Weibo.
She was not an Internet addict. She just wanted to see if there were any updates on Weibo concerning the trending topic that was related to her and Leonardo.
As soon as she logged in to her Weibo account, her mobile phone vibrated non-stop as new message notifications rushed in.
