Chapter 454 Come Over Quickly. I’m Waiting for You.

Book:CEO's Substitute Wife Published:2024-5-1

The man saw Jessica take out her mobile phone and threaten to call the police, so he called her bluff. “You want to call the police? You think I’m afraid?”
Ignoring the man, Jessica called the police and told them where they were.
“B*tch, you really called the police!” As he spoke, the man stepped forward to grab Jessica by the hair.
Jessica was prepared. She flung Summer onto the sofa beside her, then stepped back to lure the man over.
Summer was hammered, but she obtained a few moments of soberness after she was flung onto the sofa.
She squinted and saw Jessica standing nearby while a group of men was surrounding her.
Those men were only threatening Jessica and not hitting her.
However, Summer was not aware of that; she thought Jessica was being bullied. Disregarding what they were saying, she staggered to her feet, picked up an empty bottle from a table, and went over.
She definitely looked drunk, but her face was expressionless and frightening, all the more when she was holding a beer bottle.
People around her noticed it and stood aside, obviously afraid of Summer.
“You better kowtow and apologize, then maybe I’ll let you go. If you—”
The man was barking at Jessica when Summer came over and hit him on the head with the beer bottle.
The man covered his head in pain and felt disoriented for some time. “Who the f*ck hit me?”
Summer threw away the beer bottle, then picked up a chair and smashed it on the man. He did not see it coming and was knocked to the ground.
She again grabbed a fork from the table beside her and stepped on that man’s body with one foot. “Who the f*ck do you think you are? How dare you ask Jessica to kowtow to you? Even Carl has to listen to her. Who do you think you are, eh? Who do you think you are?”
Jessica’s jaw dropped to the ground when she saw what happened. Was Summer really drunk?
It had been years since she last saw Summer drunk.
At that time, they were young and reckless. Both of them had done many nasty things together.
The man under Summer’s foot covered his head with his hands, his expression changing as he screamed. “Why are all of you still standing there? Come and help me!”
Summer sneered and swept her eyes over those who tried to come near as she pointed the fork at them. “No one comes near. I have a mental illness. I won’t go to jail even if I kill any of you.”
Those people were intimidated, and no one dared to approach her.
Right then, the restaurant manager brought the police over.
“They’re the ones quarreling here.”
The manager had noticed them earlier, but because there were many of them, he had decided to call the police.
The police station was nearby, and the police were usually patrolling the area. They also had a good relationship with the manager, so they immediately came over after they received his call.
Seeing the police, Jessica wanted to pull Summer back.
Summer was semi-sober now, and she pushed Jessica away. “Who are you? Don’t touch me!”
While she spoke, she shot Jessica a look, telling Jessica to act like she did not know her.
Jessica was scheduled to start shooting in the mountains tomorrow. If she were hauled to the police station, there would be a major news headline the next day.
Before Jessica could say anything, Summer dragged the man, whom she had hit, up to the police.
That man was skinny and short, so she did not have trouble moving him.
The police looked at Summer, who stank of beer but was unscathed, and then at the man, who did not smell of beer yet had a large bump on his head. “Follow us back to the police station, and we’ll take statements from all of you.”
Just like that, Summer and the man were brought to the police station.

At the police station, Summer was very cooperative as she gave her statement.
“Name?”
“Summer.”
“Age?”
“Twenty-six.”
“Occupation?”
She thought for a moment and said, “Screenwriter.”
Since she had a pretty face and was being so cooperative, the officer was nice to her.
The officer flipped to a new page of the notebook in his hand. “Tell me what went on.”
“I had one too many and accidentally hit him while I was walking out. Then he started to scold me. You know, sometimes it’s hard to control your emotions when you’re drunk. He didn’t only scold me but also cursed my family…”
The first half of her statement was true, but not the second half.
She may not have been a talented actress like Jessica, but she was good at lying when she had to make up a story.
Since it was only a petty case, the police officer did not plan to pursue the matter further.
“We’ll mediate the case, but before that—”
As though Summer had thought of something, she leaned forward with a mysterious look. “I’ll be remanded, right?”
“Yeah.” The officer nodded and looked at her with an explicable expression. If he was not mistaken, the woman seemed very excited.
“In that case, should I ask someone to bail me out? Wait a minute while I make a call.”
She fished out her mobile phone, squinting as she looked for Leonardo’s number and called him.
It was 10. 00 pm, and Leonardo sounded a little groggy over the phone. His voice was still pleasant to the ear, but his words were not.
“What have you done again, Summer?”
Her head was still spinning a little as she leaned back in the chair. “Leonardo, I’m in the police station. Are you coming to bail me out of here?”
Her voice sounded no different from the usual. She was just speaking a little slower now. Judging from what she said, it sounded like she deserved some pity.
Leonardo was sorting out his files in the reading room at that time. He was taken aback for a second when he heard what Summer said. “Where are you?” He sought further confirmation as if he was not sure.
“The police station. The officers are all very fierce…”
The officer sitting in front of her was bewildered.
Leonardo looked down at the computer, which stated the time at the bottom right corner.
It was 10. 00 pm, and she was asking him to bail her out of jail. He felt that his entire patience had been wasted on Summer.
“Why should I bail you out, Summer? You must be feeling more and more entitled. I didn’t—”
“Don’t forget I’m your woman. Who else is going to bail me out if not you? Come over quickly. I’m waiting for you.”
Summer then placed the phone in front of her eyes and narrowed her eyes before she found the red Hang-up button.
After she hung up, she saw that the officer before her was staring at her with a strange expression.
