Chapter 396 Green With Envy

Summer curled her lips and smiled stiffly. “While I know you are filthy rich, Mr. Emerson, I don’t need you to splurge on me like that.”
She had lived with Stanley for a while now, and while she did not have many daily necessities, the amount was still considerable when added up.
All of those could still be used, so why should they be thrown away.
Leonardo looked at her with a half-smile, and there was an unclear emotion in his rumbling voice. “Don’t want to spend my money? And you feel at ease spending the money of that hypocrite Stanley?”
“Mr. Emerson, please do not jump to such conclusions before even knowing the truth. You are just being malicious!”
Summer felt that Leonardo was too self-righteous.
Stanley had never wronged him before. Did he need to treat Stanley like that?
So, this arrogant pr*ck had pretty much always acted according to his mood?
As Summer finished speaking, she added on without giving Leonardo a chance to speak, “Plus, whose money I spend is none of your business.”
She had spent Stanley’s money, but she kept records of all of the money spent. She even had the receipt for her hospitalization expenses from the past three years.
She had her own sense of right or wrong.
When Leonardo heard that, his face collapsed.
This impenitent broad!
To avoid hearing even more unpleasant words from Leonardo’s mouth. Summer did not give him a chance to speak as she left for the exit as soon as she was done talking.
Behind her came Leonardo’s hissing anger. “Summer!”
Summer clenched her fist and silently gave herself a victorious “V” sign in her heart.
Once she was outside, Summer gave Stanley a brief overview of the situation.
Stanley smiled and told her. “It’s okay, I’ll keep your things for you.”
By coincidence, Leonardo who was coming out of the manor heard it as well.
He immediately walked over and looked at Summer expressionlessly. “Weren’t you going back to get your stuff?”
“Oh?” Didn’t he just say there was no need to collect them?
Leonardo gave her an impatient urge. “Shouldn’t you be going now?”
Summer subconsciously lifted her feet and followed him.
She took two steps forward, before turning to look at Stanley
Stanley smiled at her and followed behind.

Summer stood in the living room of Stanley’s house, looking on in a stupor as Leonardo directed his men to help her move her stuff.
Why did Leonardo, the CEO of Emerson Corporation, a multinational company, have so much free time?
Could it be that Emerson Corporation was going to collapse?
Even when she said she had nothing much, Leonardo still insisted on bringing someone to help her move.
Looking at the bunch of underlings standing in the room with no idea where to start, Summer could no longer stand it and said. “I’ll do it myself. It’s all my personal belongings…”
It was little wonder that they had no idea where to start because she really had nothing.
Leonardo stood by the door and glanced around. It was clear that Summer lived alone in this room.
He asked casually, “Where does Stanley live?”
Summer was collecting her items and answered casually as well. “He lives in his own room.”
Leonardo demurred for a moment and did not say anything else.
By the time Summer had collected and packed all of her items, Leonardo’s man grabbed the suitcase and pulled it straight to the elevator.
Summer then asked Leonardo. “Weren’t you living on the opposite block?”
Leonardo glanced at her and calmly said. “Too small to live in.”
Summer pursed her lips and had nothing to retort.
The high-end area consisted entirely of duplex units, and none of them were small.
On top of that, Leonardo had only moved in not too long ago, and he was moving again…
That was probably how the rich operated.
The car finally stopped in front of a villa.
Summer stood before the villa and finally understood why Leonardo said that the house in the area before was too small to live in.
It was a four-story garden villa with a wide courtyard and rows upon rows of servants and bodyguards.
Just as they got to the door, the servants and bodyguards lined up on both sides and bowed down. “Young Master!”
Summer walked behind Leonardo with her eyes down.
Before they got into the hall, a tiny little meat bun came running out of it.
Leonardo was walking before Summer, and the moment he saw that tiny meat bun running over, he stopped and extended his arms to catch her…
However, that meat bun ran past him and jumped into Summer’s arms instead.
“Aunt Jarrett!”
The little one’s big watery eyes blinked as she called out to her.
Rosie was enthusiastic every time she saw her, and every single time in the past Summer felt happy seeing her as well.
But this time around, she wanted to cry.
“Rosie…”
Summer embraced her tightly, her eyes red.
How does she even tell Rosie that she was not “Aunt Jarrett”, but “Mommy.”
Leonardo withdrew his head and looked back with a sullen face before seeing Summer almost in tears as she hugged Rosie.
He raised his eyebrow a little, and a servant by the side wanted to step forward but was stopped by his gaze.
A moment later, Rosie took the lead and whimpered. “Too tight.”
Summer immediately let go of Rosie as soon as she heard that.
She took a deep breath and calmed her emotions before picking Rosie up.
As she inadvertently turned around, she saw Leonardo staring impassively at the two.
“Leonardo” As soon as Rosie saw Leonardo, she held her two chubby hands out to ask for a hug.
Leonardo recalled that Rosie had thrown herself directly into Summer’s arms earlier, and his expression darkened as he turned around and walked inside.
Rosie blinked as she frowned and looked at Summer in confusion. “Is he angry?”
Summer was tickled by the looks of the frowning little lady. “He’s not angry, he’s just green with envy.”
Summer was following behind Leonardo earlier, and naturally noticed Leonardo tiny subconscious movements, and now only she remembered them.
Rosie wrinkled her nose and said with disdain, “Why is he turning green? Yucky.”
Summer nodded. “Yeah, yucky.”
She then brought Rosie into the villa as they spoke.
Rosie was a chatterbox, and once she started talking, there was no end to it.
Summer listened patiently and noticed that Rosie’s language ability was very strong. She had a wide vocabulary.
Right then, a maid came before Summer and said respectfully, “Ms. Jarrett, the young master wants me to take you to your room.”
Summer nodded slightly. “Thank you.”
The maid brought Summer to the second floor and opened one of the room doors before gesturing for her to enter. “This is your room if you will.”
Summer stood by the door and got a rough look, her expression surprised. “Is this my room?”
The maid smiled. “Yes, have a look and if there is anything else that you need, you can inform us at any time.”
After the maid said that, she left.
Summer brought Rosie into the room.
The bedroom was large, with french windows, a balcony, and a small dressing room as well.
