She turned around and noticed that Leonardo had lowered all of the car’s windows.
The wind blew in from the opened windows with a tinge of coolness, and the cigarette smoke in the car quickly dissipated.
Summer was moved a little and turned to look at Leonardo.
Leonardo drove the car without looking at her, and bore that impassive look, with a calm almost emotionless expression.
Maybe he felt a little warm.
It did not take too long before Leonardo’s car came to a stop.
As soon as the car stopped, there was his subordinate who opened the door for him, while Summer got down from the car herself.
Tim came forward. “Young Master.”
He had clearly been waiting for a long time now, and when he saw Summer, he nodded slightly. “Ms. Jarrett.”
Then he followed behind Leonardo, whispering to the latter as they walked inside.
Summer followed by the side and held her hand somewhat nervously.
She followed them into an office, and the doctor spoke to Leonardo for a bit before producing the DNA report.
The doctor had mentioned a large number of professional jargon, which Summer had no idea what they were.
Leonardo glanced at Summer, his long fingers tapped twice against the armrest, before saying slowly. “Just tell us the results.”
The doctor immediately stopped babbling and said, “Ms. Jarrett is not related to your daughter.”
“No blood relationship?” Summer’s expression changed. Did Jessica lie to her?
She subconsciously looked at Leonardo.
Leonardo sat there with a dark gaze, his hand movements had also stopped as his entire person was not as relaxed as before.
The next moment, he turned around and looked at Tim. “See Ms. Jarrett off.”
His tone was colder than usual with a tinge of imperceptible urgency.
Tim, too, was rather astounded by the DNA identification results, this report should be accurate, so how could they not have any blood relationship?
While he was puzzled deep down, upon seeing Leonardo’s serious expression, he reacted quickly and intended to see Summer out.
“Ms. Jarrett, this way please.” Tim turned to Summer and made a “go-ahead” gesture.
Summer froze on the spot.
Jessica would not have lied to her.
Did something go wrong somewhere?
Did someone cause something like the car accident she and Stanley suffered?
However, who could do something like that under Leonardo’s nose?
Summer did not immediately leave but said with a conflicted look, “Mr. Emerson!”
Leonardo’s expression returned to the same relaxed look in the beginning, but he ignored her, as the words he spoke were pointed at Tim. “Didn’t you hear me?”
Summer did not believe that Jessica would lie to her and tried to explain herself, “I think there may have been some misunderstanding, you…”
Leonardo did intend to listen to her at all and just looked at the DNA report.
Seeing so, Summer’s temper rose out of nowhere and shouted at him, “Leonardo!”
The man seemed to pause for a bit but did not look up.
Summer wanted to say something else as she heard Tim’s voice. “Ms. Jarrett, please come with me.”
Summer could only follow Tim out.
Tim’s footsteps were quick, and as she walked, Summer said, “Special Assistant Tim, were there any problems with the DNA report? You and Jessica are friends, you should know everything.”
“The young master knows if there is a problem with the DNA report or not.”
Tim brought Summer out of the rear door and was out of the hospital by then.
When Tim had just walked out, he had called the car to wait at that the back exit, and by then the car had arrived.
He followed Leonardo’s instruction and sent Summer into the car before turning back to the doctor’s office.
By the time he entered the office, there were more people in there.
Leonardo was still in his relaxed appearance as he sat on the chair looking indifferent.
Kate stepped forward and snatched the DNA report from Leonardo’s hand. “What is the meaning of this? Do you think I’m lying to you? You would believe anyone else but me?”
She was in a fit of rage and slammed the DNA report on the doctor’s desk as she said that.
The doctor had left long ago, leaving only the siblings and Kate’s bodyguards in the room.
Tim paused for a moment and still went over. “Young Master.”
Only then did Leonardo get up and adjust his clothes before saying to Tim, “Let’s go.”
Kate naturally would not allow them to leave just like that.
Her gaze landed on Tim, and her tone unfriendly. “It’s you!”
She had run into him at Emerson Corporation in a hurry last time and did not recall who he was.
Now that she recalled, she remembered that Tim was Leonardo’s long-time assistant.
From her point of view, these subordinates were all in for the money, and she never thought that after three years, Tim would return to work for Leonardo.
Kate was obviously nervous.
Tim knew everything about what happened back then, and if he had just told Leonardo something, and the latter was to believe it, then her happy days were about to come to an end.
However, Leonardo had not been doing anything aside from two days ago, when her underling told her that Leonardo had looked for a hospital to perform a DNA test.
Summer was dead.
As long as Leonardo did not remember the things of the past, why should she be afraid if there was no proof?
Tim’s eyes drooped slightly, his tone faint. “Ms. Emerson.”
“Did you move out of the manor because you listened to these people? I am your sister, and Amber is the mother of your child, and you treat us like this!”
Kate was totally enraged and seemed like she was truly hurt by Leonardo.
Leonardo was not moved, and he spoke casually. “Then you tell me, who is Summer?”
“A mere gold-digger.” Kate was disdainful when she spoke of Summer.
Leonardo held his hand out and pulled his tie down, his gaze darkening somewhat.
Anyone who knew him well would know that Leonardo would have a number of imperceptible movements when he was angry.
Leonardo sneered, “But someone said that she’s Rosie’s biological mother.”
Kate seemed to have heard that particularly funny joke and pointed at Tim as she sneered sarcastically. “He told you? Or Carl told you?”
Leonardo raised his jaw slightly and said indifferently, “All of you have your own reasons, so if that’s the case, let Amber and Rosie do a DNA test and let facts speak for itself. It is also a chance to prove your innocence, and to avoid any grievances.”
The last sentence was spoken very lightly.
Kate was shocked, and it took her a few seconds to respond. “There is no need for any DNA comparison. Rosie is Amber’s daughter.”
Leonardo did not care what she had said and simply stood up slowly. “I’ll arrange someone to get this done when the time comes.”
