At this time, a man ran up to Adams. “Mr. Wilson, if this keeps going on, our men won’t be able to stop him.”
Adams pulled his eyes back from Leonardo. Before he could say anything, he heard the roar of engines outside. The next moment, Tim and Carl brought their men storming in.
“Young Master!” Tim had spotted Leonardo at once.
Adams’s expression collapsed, and he waved his hands at his men. “Pull back!”
He tried to bring Summer with him, but Leonardo was charging past his men toward him. At the same time, Tim and Carl’s men had also joined the melee. The situation instantly became chaotic.
Summer was losing her blood fast, her face pale as dizziness set in. She felt a shivering hand pressing on her wound and then heard a voice.
“Summer!”
It was a voice that she most recognized. He was Leonardo. She tilted her head back but could not get to see his face clearly, her voice becoming weak.
“Don’t give in to Adams… He wants to ruin… you…”
Adams used to enjoy a good life. But since he found out who he was, he went off the rails and ruined his life. Now he wanted to drag Leonardo along with him. More specifically, Adams wanted to make everyone suffer as much as he did. He had truly gone insane.
“Shh, stop saying anything. I’m sending you to the hospital.” Leonardo’s voice was unusually hoarse. He untied her and carried her up in his arms.
Summer leaned in his arms, narrowing her eyes as she sniffed. “Are you hurt? I smell blood…”
“I’m not hurt. It is you,” said Leonardo as he carried her running out.
“But your body…” Summer was still bleeding, almost losing her consciousness.
“Stop talking.”
“Young Master.” Tim quickly came up from behind and saw his tattered clothes, cuts, and bruises on his arms. He hesitated for a second, then said, “Young Master, let me give you a hand.”
“No need.” Leonardo did not stop but ran past him.
Tim went up to open the rear car door for Leonardo before running around to the other side and jumped behind the wheel. Glancing through the rearview mirror, he saw Leonardo carrying Summer in his arms, frozen in place. Leonardo was looking down at Summer, so Tim could not see his expression.
Just then, he heard Leonardo say to him, “Drive faster.”
“Aye.” Tim pulled his eyes back.

Tim drove straight to the hospital owned by Emerson Corporation. After Summer was wheeled into the operating room, Leonardo stood stock outside the door.
Tim tried to sound him out. “Young Master, let the nurse dress your wounds.”
Leonardo said nothing. Tim knew very well that Leonardo would not leave before Summer came out of the operating theater safe and sound.
After a long while of silence, Tim heard Leonardo say in a frosty voice. “Go to the old residence and stop anyone from leaving the house.”
Tim hesitated for a second before replying with an “Aye” and left in a hurry.

Michael had fled from the abandoned warehouse amid the chaos. Instead of going straight to the airport, he first tried to call Violet. But he got no answer from her.
He had no choice but gritted his teeth and rushed back to the Emersons’ old residence. He now knew that Summer and Leonardo had not divorced. And now that Summer was wounded, and Leonardo seemed to be very concerned about her and would have no time to come after him.
Michael felt somewhat relieved with this thinking in mind. He would go back to the old residence, brought Violet out of the country, and Leonardo would have no way of finding them again.
Once arriving at the house, he stepped and instantly felt the house was unusually quiet.
“Violet!” he called out.
He heard some indistinct voices from afar and followed them, then saw Violet, and a group of maids was doing stuff in the kitchen.
“Brother, you’re back.” Violet turned her head around and let out a smile as she saw him.
Michael went up and held her hand, wanting to bring her out. “Follow me quickly!”
“What’s wrong?” Violet looked at him, baffled. She did not feel like leaving with him.
“Leonardo has found out everything.” Michael said in a low voice, his face grave.
“What did you just say? Everything?” Violet’s expression changed, looking at him in disbelief.
“We’ve got to go now. As ruthless as he was, he wasn’t going to show any mercy on us.” Michael’s eyes darted around as he held her hand again to bring her out of the house.
“I’m not leaving.” Violet shook her head.
“There is no time…”
“Mr. Emerson, where are you going?” Tim had brought his men and come in.
“It’s none of your business. You are just Leonardo’s lapdog. Who are you to question me?”
“Some people are worse than animals though.” There was not a hint of emotional fluctuation on Tim’s face. He gave his men a look, and they chased all the maids out of the house.
“Where is Leonardo?” asked Violet as she came up to Tim after shaking Michael’s hand off hers.
Tim did not answer her question but instructed his men. “Escort Mr. Emerson and Mrs. Wilson back to their room.”
It was now apparent that they would be held up in their rooms. But Michael was too used to ruling the roost. “You all are illegally holding us in captivity. I will call the police!”
Tim sneered. “In case you don’t know, Mr. Emerson, one of the police officers who was directly involved in the kidnapping’s investigation back then has been keeping tabs on the case. All it would take is for Young Master to leak some information to him…”
Reputation and power were the only things that Michael cared most about in his life. After hearing what Tim said, his expression collapsed. He knew that the worst fate would await him if he were to fall to Leonardo.

Still standing outside the operation room, Leonardo felt as if a century had passed before the doors of the operating theater finally opened.
As soon as the doctor came out, he went up and asked, “How is she?” His voice sounded anxious, and he was still dressed in the tattered clothes and wounded. He looked a sight, but his eyes could still strike fear in people.
The doctor shuddered a bit at seeing him. “We have stitched her wound. She—”
Just then, Summer was pushed out of the operating theater. Leonardo lunged up and saw Summer lying unconscious on the bed, eyes closed and face pale.
A murderous look flashed in his eyes as he asked, “Why isn’t she awake?”
