Chapter 327 Only a Broken Car Needs a Spare Tire

Summer continued to scroll down and found a photograph depicting her kissing Leonardo in the car. At that time, his kisses felt fervent. Now, looking back, they really were a little too fiery.
Sitting across from her, Jessica saw the photo and sighed. “Tell me frankly, when did you break up with Big Boss, or did you guys not break up at all? If so, you’ve gone too far!”
Summer was dumbfounded when she heard that. “We didn’t break up.”
“Since you guys didn’t break up, how could you do such a thing? What’s worse, the media took a picture of it. Do you have a death wish or something?”
Jessica had misunderstood the situation big time, so Summer explained, “No, I mean—”
Jessica held up her hand, interrupting and signaling Summer to stop quibbling. “It’s been on the news now. Big Boss must have seen it, so you better pack up and flee.”
Summer had no words…
Seeing that she was not moving, Jessica rushed her. “Hurry! Why are you still sitting here?”
“This man is Leonardo.” Summer rested her forehead on her hand as she peered down at the multifarious comments on the mobile phone.
“Judging from the man’s attire, he should be very young. He’s probably a student.”
“She found such a young man to mock Leonardo?”
“Speaking of which, why did this woman divorce Leonardo? Is it because that man’s a wet noodle?”
There were many replies to that comment.
“Here’s an honest guy. Let’s bully him.”
“A normal person wouldn’t have hidden from the public, let alone let people mock him. Something must be wrong with Leonardo.”
“Wahaha, how dare you say that? The Emerson family’s cyber troopers will be here in three seconds.”
Summer breathed a long sigh. Something had to be wrong with these people.
The outside world had previously talked about an ugly and impotent Leonardo, which was obviously a fabrication. Now, they were raking up old stories again.
Right when she wanted to rebut them, Jessica suddenly snatched the mobile phone away.
Summer looked up as Jessica held the mobile phone in front of her. “Summer, listen carefully, are BB caps and khaki hoodies Big Boss’ style? I’ve never seen him wearing anything other than black, white, and gray shirts as well as dress pants. Who are you trying to bluff?”
Jessica was right; even Summer was stunned when she saw Leonardo in that attire.
“How are you going to believe that this man is Leonardo? Should I bring you to see him to clarify the matter?”
Jessica was not convinced that the man in the photograph was Leonardo, but she trusted Summer.
“It’s really Big Boss?”
“Yes.”
“Okay, I believe you.” Jessica nodded when she noticed how composed Summer’s tone and expression were.
“But why was he dressed like that?”
“When he returned from M Country and came to the movie studio to visit me yesterday, he changed into those clothes. It was a disguise.” The attire brought more trouble than she had expected.
“Do you have the photographs?” Jessica leaned forward and asked.
“Yeah.” Summer smiled mysteriously. It was kind of rare to see Leonardo in that kind of attire. So, while they were going back to their apartment and were waiting for the elevator, Summer secretly took a few photographs of him. She let Jessica look at them.
Jessica shook her head. “I think Big Boss looks too steady. He’d still look scary in a pink bunny costume, let alone a hoodie.”
“Nah, this looks cute.” Summer disagreed with her, snatching back her mobile phone.
Jessica shrank back. “You’re giving me goosebumps.”
They finished their morning tea and walked out of the restaurant. Just then, a group of reporters traveled in their direction. It was apparent that Summer was their target. Summer froze for two seconds before she brought Jessica back into the restaurant.
“Jessica, you can leave through the other exit. I’m their target.”
“What about you?”
“I can’t hide forever. Besides, the restaurant won’t sit by and watch. Go, now.” Summer gave Jessica a push.
Jessica nodded, pulled down her cap, then left through the exit on the other side.
As soon as Jessica left, those reporters rushed in. Summer sat down on the sofa with those reporters cramped up in front of her, poking their microphones in her face.
Summer frowned and tilted her head back. “It’s not like I can run away. Would all of you please stand a couple of steps back? Your microphones are almost jabbing me in the face. Are you going to be responsible if you hurt me?”
Summer did not mince her words, and those reporters had no choice but to take a step back.
“Ms. Jarrett, you were reportedly with a man inside a car. Is he your new boyfriend?”
“How is the relationship going?”
“Didn’t you wish to win Leonardo back earlier? Is it because Leonardo rejected you and you felt downhearted that you found a new boyfriend?”
“Can you tell us about your new boyfriend?”
The reporters bombarded Summer with one question after another.
She folded her arms and cocked an eyebrow. “Why should I tell you about my boyfriend? Are you thinking of stealing him from me?”
“Ms. Jarrett, please answer the question: have you given up on mending your relationship with Leonardo?”
Summer shifted into a more comfortable posture, then said absentmindedly, “What do you think?”
“Ms. Jarrett, you are not giving a definite answer. Is it because you haven’t given up yet, and the man you kissed in the car is just a spare?”
Summer looked up at the reporter who asked the question. “Only a broken car needs a spare part. Are you trying to ridicule me or Leonardo?”
The reporter became nervous. If the matter went to Leonardo, he would be in trouble. “No, Ms. Jarrett, I meant—”
“I know you didn’t mean it.” Summer smiled. “Thank you for your constant concern. I’ll work harder, but I hope all of you pay more attention to my work.”
The reporters sensed that Summer was not a pushover who they could easily handle, so they grew milder with their subsequent questions.
Summer handled them with ease, mostly deflecting instead of answering their questions. She admitted that she had kissed her boyfriend in the car and was careful not to say that it was a new boyfriend.
