Alisa was parachuted into the TV station as a host, so Eliza did not know much about her. She did not even know that Alisa was from the Emerson family.
So what if Alisa was from the Emerson family? Except for Leonardo, his father and grandfather, the other Emersons were merely small fish in a big pond. Eliza just did not give a hoot about them.
“It really has nothing to do with me. But you’re now a maid. I’m ordering you to fetch me a glass of water.” Alisa raised her chin, her voice smug.
Eliza stood there and refused to comply. Her purpose here in the mansion was to get close to Leonardo. She was ready to be bossed around by Summer but not Alisa, her old archrival.
As Eliza did not budge, Alisa turned to look at Summer and whined, “Summer, is she your maid? She doesn’t even want to fetch me a glass of water.”
“She is new.” Summer’s lips curled in a half-smile. “But it is Grandpa who hires her.”
Alisa choked, surprised by how much Charlie had favored Summer—so much so that he had even sent maids to her.
“Even though it is Grandpa who sends her here, she should know her place.” Alisa cocked an eyebrow as she looked at Eliza with cold eyes.
Eliza used to have a brush with Alisa and knew Alisa was not an innocent type. Sensing something amiss with Alisa’s expression, she knew she had to go away. But she was a second too late; Alisa had raised her hand and slapped her on the face. The slap was so loud that other maids heard it and were looking in their direction.
Even Summer was shocked. She glanced at Alisa.
Alisa’s lips curled in a sneer. “Since you don’t know what you are supposed to do as a maid, let me teach you a lesson today.”
The rivalry between two women with about the same level of social background and appearance was usually brutal. Both were equally matched, yet they were adamant in differentiating one from the other. This would only get more excited.
“Alisa, who the hell you think you are? How dare you hit me!” Eliza reached to feel her face, sucking her teeth.
Just then, Ava came out of nowhere and urged Summer to stay away from the fight. “Be careful, Mrs. Emerson.”
“I’m alright.” Summer was not worried. She just did not believe that the women would come to blows. But what happened next proved that she had underestimated the two women’s will of combat and overestimated their virtue of self-control.
“Eliza, you now have the chance to explain yourself!” Alisa most hated it when others became haughty in front of her. Not to mention that it was Eliza.
“That’s so nice of you! Then let me say it again: Who are you to hit me? You have only landed a job through the back door!” Eliza sneered.
Alisa narrowed her eyes with a vicious look on her face. “So what if you look down on me? In the end Bowen still chose me!” Her words touched a sore spot with Eliza.
“B*tch!” Eliza barked and charged at Alisa.
Surprised by Eliza’s attack, Alisa was pushed to the floor. Eliza must have been very pissed, judging by her hideous expression. She was over Alisa, grasping her by the lapel with one hand and hitting her face and even grabbing her hair with the other.
“Aah! Eliza, let go of me!” All Alisa knew was to protect her face while struggling to keep Eliza’s hand off her hair. In the end she could protect neither of them, and Eliza got the upper hand.
During her high school years, Summer and Jessica were dab hands at gang fights. The stool was usually their weapon of choice.
But they rarely had the chance to join in any fight when they were in university. Now, watching Alisa and Eliza beating the daylights out of each other, she could not resist the temptation to cheer them up.
But she realized she was the master of the house and should not allow any guests and maids to beat each other up in front of her.
“What are you two doing? Knock it off!” Summer tried to mediate as she stepped away. The wisest thing for her to do now was to keep herself away from the fight scene since she was pregnant now.
“This is between the two of us. Stay away!” Still grabbing Alisa’s hair in her hand, Eliza looked up and saw Summer had retreated some seven or eight meters away. She was struck dumb. She thought Summer wanted to become a mediator?
It was even better if Summer stayed away. She had not been too happy with Alisa for a long time. Today, she was going to knock some sense into her.
With the exception of Eliza, the other maids whom Grandpa Emerson hired were well-trained. Despite Summer was seen trying to mediate, they knew she did not mean it. She was walking away from it.
So the maids came up and pretended to pull the two women away.
“Please stop fighting.”
“Let go of Ms. Emerson.”
“Eliza, knock it off!”
Alisa nearly went mad when she saw so many maids come up, yet no one had tried to pull Eliza away. Screw the image. She barked, “Why are you all standing by and doing nothing, you all trash! Pull this b*tch away from me!”

Leonardo came home in the afternoon, as he was expected to go to the court hearing with Summer.
Ava ran out to him as soon as he stepped through the doorway. “Mrs. Emerson has gone to the hospital,” she said.
“What happened?” Leonardo was shocked, his voice almost shaking.
Noticing his anxious expression, Ava quickly explained, “It’s not about Mrs. Emerson. It was Ms. Emerson and Eliza. They had a fight.”
“Which Ms. Emerson?” Leonardo asked as he turned around and headed back out.
“It’s Ms. Emerson, the daughter of the second wife of the Emerson family.” Ava used to work in the old residence of the Emersons. Naturally she knew about the situation and Alisa.
“Alisa?” Leonardo slowed down.
“Right, right, right. It’s her.” Ava nodded frantically.
“Which hospital?”
“The bodyguards sent them there. It should be the hospital in the city, the one owned by Emerson Corporation.”
Leonardo headed straight to the hospital. As he drove, he called Summer. The phone rang for a long while and was only answered just before it disconnected.
“Leonardo?”
Hearing Summer’s soft voice, he breathed a sigh of relief. “Wait in the hospital. I’m coming to you.” Although Ava had told him what happened, he was relieved only after hearing Summer’s voice.
“How do you know I’m at the hospital? You went home?”
“Yeah, Just wait for me.”
After hanging up, Summer heard the scream of Alisa in the emergency room.
“Take it easy! It hurts!”
Then came Eliza’s voice. “Disinfection has to be done thoroughly. Otherwise, if things go bad, it could kill you!”
“Eliza, you shut up! I’m not done with you yet!”
