Leonardo sat down. He did not need to pull a face to get the message across. The shit-faced guys got the hint. They looked over at Summer, and their expression changed.
Did the woman have a special background?
Summer glanced at “Douglas”, then turned to look at the other two men. “Why have you stopped? Let’s keep the fun rolling, come on!”
While she spoke, she popped open a few cold beers. The two men took a glimpse of Leonardo, and the color drained from their faces as Leonardo cast his stern eyes over them.
They were not callow youngsters, but seasoned players. They knew who they could walk over and who they could not. Scrambling to their feet, they said, “We just realized that we have something else going on. We’ve got to go.”
Summer looked on in disappointment as the two men left. Such a buzzkill, she thought. Turning to look at “Douglas”, she demanded, “You’ve scared away my drinking buddies! Are you going to drink with me now?”
“I’ll drink with you.” Leonardo glanced at her and tossed his head back as he picked up the beer and guzzled away.
Summer turned to look at him and saw his Adam’s apple moving up and down his throat as he chugged the beer. It was sexy to her.
Leonardo emptied the bottle in no time. He tipped it, and not a single drop of beer was left. It was a good job. Summer took one and tipped its contents into her mouth with her eyes half-closed. Her raised slender neck looked like a crispy flower stem.
At first, Carl had wanted to go over, but seeing that the two were trying to out-drink one another, he thought better of it. Instead, he stayed put and took a video of them before he sent it over to Warren.

Leonardo did not know that Summer was such a good drinker. After downing a dozen beers, she still looked sober. But soon, he knew he was wrong.
Summer thumped the empty bottle on the table and reached for Leonardo’s shoulder. Due to his height, she had to try several times before she could raise her arm high enough to rest her hand on him. Then, she leaned her head over to him and solemnly said, “There’s something I need to tell you.”
When she spoke, she stank of alcohol, but in a good way-an enticing way. Leonardo was having butterflies in his stomach.
However, upon hearing her serious voice, he frowned. “What is it?” As the saying goes, “a drunk mind speaks a sober heart”. Was the woman about to tell him her secrets?
Summer checked around before she spoke in a half-whisper, “I need to pee, but I feel a little dizzy. Could you help me to the washroom?”
“…”
Leonardo’s face darkened. Seeing no response from him, Summer nudged him in the arm.
“Don’t get so huffy. After all, I’ve been cooking you breakfast, lunch, and dinner all this while. Can’t you lift your finger for me?”
Leonardo looked down at her. Her beautiful cat eyes were half-closed, appearing unfocused. She was probably drunk now. On normal days, there was no way he would hear her ask for his help to the toilet.
Leonardo gave it a thought and gritted his teeth. “Okay.”
Over in another corner of the pub, Carl saw Leonardo helping Summer up, thinking they were finally leaving. He followed them, only to find that they were heading in the wrong direction. The next moment, he saw Leonardo walk Summer into the ladies. He was like, “What the heck?”
It just took a while before Summer finished answering the call of nature. Reemerging from the toilet, she saw “Douglas” standing at the ladies’ entrance and was surprised. “Why are you standing here? I didn’t know you had such a hobby!”
Just then, two ladies, who were walking in their direction, heard what Summer said. They spun around and fled like possessed women.
“Shut up!”
Leonardo suppressed his anger. He regretted being too soft-hearted and drinking with her. Summer glanced at him, and his darkened face looked a little terrifying. She lowered her head and did not say another word. Leonardo dragged her out, but just a few paces toward the pub’s exit, Summer struggled as she said, “Don’t you care about hygiene? I haven’t washed my hands yet!”
Leonardo tried to keep his cool and brought her back to the toilet. He released the tap for her, but she just stood there. Instead of washing her hands, she swirled her finger around the column of water that was gushing out of the tap like a child.
Leonardo felt like he had exhausted his twenty-six years of patience on Summer in just a single night. Pulling a face, he pumped some soap into his hand and rubbed his hands until it got foamy. Only then did he start to apply it on her hands. They were so small and soft compared with his. With the soap on, her hands were slippery like eels, and Summer playfully pulled her hands away from his.
“Don’t move!” Leonardo ordered.
Summer froze, peeking at him like a scared child. Deep inside, though, she felt touched. “Even my mom’s never helped me wash my hands. You’re a good man.”
Her words stunned him for a second. His deadpan face eased up a little as he said in his usual low voice, “I can be better.”
“What?”
“You’ll see when we get home.”
His voice got even lower. After he gingerly dried her hands for her, Leonardo brought her back to the main hall. He grabbed her coat and put it on her since he was about to send her home.
Just then, Summer rambled, “No, no, no! I haven’t drunk enough. I want more…” She reached to grab another bottle.
A group of men then appeared from a private room, and one of them hit Leonardo’s shoulder with his as he walked by. It seemed like he did it on purpose. In a lewd voice, the man said, “Yo, young man, what strong muscles you have there. You really got me hard.” Then there was laughter from the group.
Summer poked her head out from behind with a bottle in hand, asking, “What’s hard?”
Leonardo’s face was hostile. He pushed her head back and kicked the man hard in his stomach. The man fell back and dropped with a thud. By the sound of it, it had to be painful. The other men quickly approached.
“He was just kidding, you rascal. I tell you what, we’ll let you go if you get down on your knees and kowtow to us. Otherwise…”
Suddenly, there was the loud sound of smashing glass. Everyone looked in the direction of the sound and saw a woman standing on the chair.
She had one hand wielding a broken bottle and the other resting on her hip. Seeing that everyone was staring at her, she pointed at the man who spoke just now. “Hey, rascal, your mother and I will let you go if you come up here, kowtow to me, and admit your mistake! Otherwise, I’ll knock your block off!” She tilted her head and squinted, looking mean.
Veins popped up on Leonardo’s forehead; he was furious. “Summer, get down!”
