The witch and the goddess
“Goddess Kaima!! Kaima!!!!” She called. “I know you’re here, come out and speak to me right now! Don’t be such a coward!”
“Yes,” Kaima answered gently. “I am here Susannah.”
“Why??? Why did you break my box? You had no right do that! You had no right to interfere!!!” Sabrina yelled angrily.
“I am sorry for the box Susannah, but I do have a reason for destroying it; it contained what was mine.”
“The soul of Rabbi belongs to no one Kaima! All souls are meant to roam freely until they are captured or taken into custody by a higher creature! You speak so highly of yourself as a goddess, but yet you’re proud to commit something so shameful!” She spat.
“I did nothing Susannah, the soul returned to its body because its not yet time for it to journey to the afterlife yet.”
“Liar! The soul might have returned to the body on its own, but you’re still the one who caused it! You released it from that box!!!! I know you did! That soul does belong to you Kaima! Give it back!”
“Calm your anger, Susannah. The soul belongs to me.”
“IT. DOES. NOT!” She argued.
“Perhaps you’ve forgotten the deal you struck with me when you asked for the power to give humans the beast counterpart.”
“Yes, I asked you for that power because I wanted to make the life of Lucas De’ Clan a living hell, but we never made any such deal when you bestowed me those powers!”
“Yes, because it was less of a deal, and more of a condition. When you asked me for that power Susannah, I told you that whoever you convert will belong to me; I will become its guardian and the soul of that creature will be mine, under my custody and keep to do as I wish, and you agreed.”
Sabrina shook her head, unable to believe her ears. “What…?”
“You speak of me having no rights whereas you’re the one who has no rights here Sabrina, you have no right to imprison what belongs to me, and you’re lucky I didn’t punish you for stealing from me….” Her voice was fading! Kaima is leaving this place now! After ruining her plans??? No! She cannot allow her!!! That soul must return to that box!!
“Kaima? Kaima???? Come back here you liar! When did you ever let me know of such condition???”
The moon goddess had left, and Sabrina lost touch of the connection. She was now back, fully conscious and still in chains where she was.
“He’s alive Nani!!! He’s breathing!!! Oh, Lucas is alive…” she heard Ava’s voice cry out to her utmost horror.
Nani, Cian and Kiara quickly ran to where Lucas was to confirm what Ava pronounced. Nani quickly examined him.
“Yes, it’s a miracle! He came back! I don’t know how he did it but he’s back!!!!” Nani cried.
“Are you sure?” Kiara asked, not wanting to get her hopes high. No one could blame her, as from where she stood, alpha Lucas didn’t look as if any life had been returned to him.
“Yes! Come closer and watch him breathe slowly. He is alive…but he’s very weak.”
How could this have happened? Nani could have sworn that there would have been no possible way to bring the alpha back, not with all that Sabrina has put him through, but… her attention then caught sight of the glowing moon through the window, beaming ever so brightly in the night sky, and that’s when she remembered Madeline’s words, on the day that Sabrina’s hold was broken on Ava.
*The power from the necklace was the same power from the moon goddess, the only power strong enough to break off even the strongest of Sabrina’s charms.*
Goddess Kaima had saved him! The alpha had been saved by no one but his guardian, the moon goddess! Her eyes teared up, and her heart thanked Sabrina then for turning him into a wolf those eleven years ago. This new life might have been intended for a doomed curse, but it’s been nothing but a blessing; Lucas has been blessed with this new life, he’s been given a guardian, a pack to lead, a mate, and very soon, a child.
“May the name of the goddess be praised!” Nani cried out then, gathering everyone’s attention. They then caught sight of the glowing moon too, and just like her, they realized what had happened, they realized who it really was that had saved their alpha, and then they joined the caretaker in the praises.
“May the name of the goddess be praised!”
“May the name of the goddess be praised!”
“May the name of the goddess be praised!”
Sabrina couldn’t stand it! She couldn’t stand any of this at all!!! How dare they mock her in such a way? She didn’t even know when she started screaming again like pure definition of crazy.
“No! This is impossible! Damn you Kaima!!! This is my strongest enchantment! My ultimate. Never in all my thousand years of existence has this spell failed me! And then you come and ruin everything within the snap of a finger!!!!”
Now that their alpha’s life had been extended, now that these weren’t the last moments they were going to spend with him, Sabrina could now be paid attention to. Kiara was the one to answer her first. Upon hearing how her ultimate charm was destroyed in the snap of a finger, she taunted, “you know Sabrina, for someone who has lived a thousand years, you’re not a very skilled witch.”
Sabrina screams only became louder, almost deafening sounds bursting through the window, more like the sounds of failure.
“NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! NOOO….” Her screams were suddenly cut short by the sound of a silver dagger penetrating her heart, Sabrina’s world turned black then, as she could sight death calling her, it was time, the path of destruction she’d chosen to take, her end had finally come, as she closed her eyes, welcoming herself into the arms of death. She might have failed in her mission, but at least, she would reunite with her sisters….
One stab for Ava wasn’t enough, Sabrina had clearly died from the silver dagger piercing her heart once, but Ava wanted to make sure it was for certain, she wanted to make sure that Sabrina would never recover from this; violently yanking out the dagger before shoving it again into the heart of the witch several times.
In and out…
In and out…
Until Cian finally stopped her, grabbing her by the hand.
“That’s enough Ava! She’s dead, she’s gone. And she’ll never hurt you or your mate again.”
