Message from the goddess
Nani shook her head, refusing to give up, she tried to convince her further.
“Your mate didn’t kill Ray if that’s what you’re mad about; Ray Devlin was never alive in the first place, what you saw, what you laid with that posed to be Sabrina’s lover two weeks ago was nothing more than an empty body, without a heart, without a wolf, even without a soul.”
The words stopped her short, Ava saw some truth in it but, “No…. I don’t… I don’t believe you,” she said.
“Believe it or not Ava, it’s the truth, if not, how can a former alpha die from only a few scratches when you, a less powerful omega, could survive something so intense as electrocution? Did you ever bother to ask yourself that question?”
Nani then came closer taking her hand, “you don’t belong here Ava, I know you want to help these people, I understand that perfectly, but this isn’t your place. You belong with us back home, with the dawners. Come back home Ava, please, come back for your mate. I know you want to see him again.”
“This isn’t about wanting to see him again… Didn’t you hear his judgment? He’ll kill me if I ever dare to return. He said so himself.”
“Nonsense! Do you really believe that Lucas De’ Clan has the guts to kill you? If he did, he’d have killed you a long time ago, right from the time you first cheated. He loves you Ava, and right now, he needs you, please don’t say no.”
Ava’s heart felt moved; she was almost beginning to change her mind, but then at that moment, she felt something move near her chest, and then, all the thoughts of going back to help Lucas disappeared and she suddenly became adamant again.
“I’m sorry Nani, but then there’s nothing you can say to me that will make me ever want to return home!” She then snatched her hand away from Nani’s and began to walk away, leaving the bewildered caretaker to stare after her in surprise.

***LATER THAT NIGHT***
Ava tossed and tumbled on the tent mat where she lay, she’s always had trouble sleeping here, she doesn’t know why but it has less to do with the cold hard ground beneath.
“Ugghhh!!” After about an hour of struggling, she finally decided to get up and go for a walk.
She took her wolf form and left the tent, the camp ground and wandered into the surrounding forest, Layla walked a small distance before stopping by a river bank to drink some water and rest. After drinking, she lay her head on the cold forest ground, closing her eyes, and as she was about to drift off to sleep, she heard a warm soothing feminine voice call out to her gently…
“Ava! Ava!!”
Layla’s ears prickled while she wondered who could be calling her name, who could have followed her here at such time of the night? After hearing the voice again, she knew then that it wasn’t Nani. Who then could it be? She thought oddly.
Layla got up and took her human form, so Ava could go in the direction she heard the voice, slowly walking towards the sound and then she finally saw who it was near one of the surrounding trees; the voice came from a very beautiful woman with skin as white as snow, she also had long white hair reaching the back of her knees, her ears were pointed and she was dressed in white glowing fabric, and she also had the most dashing green eyes with a beautiful smile. Ava knew who it was immediately upon seeing her, the moon goddess herself had come to pay her a visit.
She bowed, dropping to her knees upon noticing her presence.
“Rise Ava Maynard, for I have only come here to deliver a message to you, as well as a gift.”
Ava then got up, “what have you come to give me oh great one? Ruler of the moon and mother to the wolves.”
The goddess didn’t mince words, heading straight to the point, she took Ava’s hand in hers while she spoke, “I gave him to you for a reason, he is yours the same way you are his. Never stop fighting for the one you love dear, only you can win this battle. Fight for him the way he fought for you.”
Ava shook her head, “wait… I don’t understand… are you talking about my mate? What do you mean by this battle only I can win?
“Do not leave him… his heart is trapped, it calls out to you, his heart needs you to rescue him.”
“What do you mean by these words you are saying? Tell me more… I don’t understand any of what you mean…”
The goddess assured her, stroking her cheek, “in due time you will understand these words dear, I will now give you the gift I came to give, the gift that will restore the union I once created; the union destroyed by the enemy.”
She laid a hand against Ava’s belly, and suddenly Ava felt something move in her, it felt strange, different; like she’d been given another life inside of her.
The goddess then smiled and suddenly her presence started fading away; she was disappearing.
“NO no no!!! Wait! Please… Come back!!! You haven’t told me what you meant by this battle I am to fight… is it my mate? What gift did you give me??? I don’t understand any of this….”
The goddess spoke again, as she did this time, her voice gradually faded away…
“In due time, you will understand dear. The only thing you need to do for now is…
“Fight for him the way he fought for you,
“Fight for him the way he fought for you…”
The goddess kept on repeating the words until she disappeared completely, until Ava was left all alone in the forest again.
**********
Ava jolted up from the tent ground, sweating profusely in a confusing state as she tried to recall when she’d fallen asleep, as well as the dream she’d just had, she’d forgotten most of what she saw in the dream but the one thing that stuck to her head like glue were those words she’d heard from the moon goddess, the main message itself,
Fight for him the way he fought for you…
