The alpha’s worst nightmare
Her reaction shocked Sabrina in no small manner, she’d expected Nani to tear the whole place down upon seeing how weak and pale the alpha had become, but of course, guess the fool is just as blind as she is old.
She smiled back at Nani, “yes, he’s quite a difficult one to handle, but I managed pretty well with him while you were gone.”
“You look stressed dear, I know it’s been a tough job for you since you’ve been handling him, let me go and bring your own food for you, no need to come and get it in the kitchen by yourself.”
She began to refuse, “no, don’t worry…”
Nani held her hand, still smiling, “I insist, I know it’s not easy handling someone like him, he can be difficult at times and you know he hasn’t had it easy at all since his mate left, I won’t be long; I’ll hurry and bring it now.”
Sabrina hesitated for a bit, before nodding her head, then Nani rushed out of the room, and towards the direction of the large kitchen.
After closing the door behind Nani, Sabrina returned to the inner chambers smiling at Lucas who was still seated, staring into an empty space, he was weak and every inch of him hurt like hell. She went towards the covered food the caretaker brought in, opening it up to see the bowl of soup and chicken Nani had prepared for him. She closed her eyes as she inhaled the wonderful aroma from the plate.
“Such a nice food,” she grinned. “This caretaker of yours really knows how to make a hell of a meal. Too bad it will all have to go to waste.”
She then picked up the bowl of soup, going to the nearby window to pour out all its contents.

A few minutes later, Nani returned with Sabrina’s food, she was more than surprised to meet the food she’d brought in a while ago all eaten up, and Lucas still in that same position she’d left him. She looked over at Sabrina who had a giant smirk on her face, she didn’t need anyone to tell her what Sabrina had done.
She dropped the tray of food on the table and invited Sabrina to come over, clearing away the empty plates.
“Your food is ready, come and eat, Sabrina.”
Sabrina then went to the table and sat, taking her own bowl of soup, over the centuries she’d been here, she’d adapted quite well to human food. It didn’t repel her as it used to in the p. Nani watched as she ate it all up, and when Sabrina was done, she shot her a glare after her realization.
“This was all you wanted right? This was why you sent Ava away??? So, you could kill her mate? So you could destroy all that Lucas has suffered to build?”
Sabrina acted surprisingly, “what in the goddess’s name are you talking about Nani?”
“Don’t act like you don’t know what I’m talking about; you’re no wolf! And the food you’ve just eaten proves clearly that you aren’t. No wolf would ever chug down a bowl of soup filled with mushroom and garlics like that! If you are truly what you claim to be, you’d have sniffed it the minute I placed the plate in front of you!”
Sabrina began to laugh hysterically, “your test proves nothing Nani Rosalyn, neither are your suspicions relevant, even if you decide to scream it to the whole world, no one will ever believe you.”
Nani didn’t say any more words to her, only ran to Lucas, nudging his arm.
“Lucas! Lucas!! Please listen to me, I know you’re still in there, you have to send Sabrina far away from here, from all of us! She’s not who you think she is! She’s a cold-blooded creature who acts like she’s one of us but she’s not. She’s a deceiver! You have to do something Lucas!!!”
“Lucas! Nani is accusing me of not being a wolf, she’s accusing me forgetting that she herself doesn’t have the wolf genes. What would you say to this, Lucas?”
A little moment, and then his voice was heard, “Get out of my room, Nani.”
Seeing him react like that, she sensed the presence of something stronger in the room then. Nani knows that this is a problem beyond the alpha himself, only his mate can stop this madness, and she has to go to her, fast. She ran out of the room quickly, leaving the tray of plates behind.
“Crazy old lady,” Sabrina spat behind her as she left.
“Sabrina….” She turned to see Lucas trying hard in an attempt to get up from his seat.
“Sit down!” She commanded, and then he sat back down immediately, like her words pinned his butt to the chair.
“What…. have you done…? What have you done to me Sabrina? Who are you?” He mumbled weakly.
She bent to look straight into his eyes, her eyes having direct contact with his before she spoke.
“I… am your worst nightmare, Lucas De’ Clan. And now, listen to me very carefully… you will never believe a word that comes out of Nani Rosalyn’s mouth! Ever!”
“Y-yes,” he repeated, tears streaming down his cheeks. “I will never believe a word that comes out of Nani Rosalyn’s mouth.”
“Good!”
She nodded her head in satisfaction, before breaking the eye contact and lowering down to unbuckle his trousers. She does not have to worry about being exposed at all, Lucas is under her control and he will forever be until his death. He’ll never believe anything that old hag says.

“Here you go!” Ava said as she handed the blind old he-wolf a wrapped package containing a meal for one.
“Thank you!” The old wolf bowed his head slightly as he received it in his hand.
Ava just nodded and moved on, travelling into her thoughts again; the two weeks she’d spent here didn’t turn out to be so bad. She loved waking up everyday to help the new refugees, along with the guards, delivering supplies, and tending to the sick and injured. Cian and Kiara did come over to help her occasionally. It was a great way of helping others, this was her life now, she thought as she handed another package the guards gave to her to a she-wolf holding two cubs in front of her tent.
The day hadn’t gone by too quickly and she was still delivering food items round the camps, shortly after, she heard someone call her name.
“Ava!”
