Nani’s findings
“Open your eyes, Lucas De’ Clan.”
He obeyed, opening his eyes to adjust to see Sabrina glaring at him, he tried to say something, but then he couldn’t move, nor speak, it was just like the night he’d been cursed, he was powerless.
“Don’t waste your time,” Sabrina stated. “Your body is now paralyzed, you are now under my spell, my control, after you laid with me. I now control your body to do as I wish.”
She held his chin up with her hand, smiling evilly as she looked into his eyes.
“I want my face to be the last face you’ll ever see, Rabbi. You took my family, my home from me, and now finally, I will avenge the blood of my sisters that were slain after you betrayed me for a worthless bag of gold.
“Within a few weeks, I will have your soul in my hand, but first, I want you to suffer as they suffered, you will cry as they cried when the king gave the order for their heads to be chopped off.”
A tear slipped from her eye as she recalled the memory, and then she smiled again, as he met her gaze through teary eyes, she left him and took her place beside him on the bed, wrapping his arms around her before drifting off to sleep slowly. She has to sleep well because tomorrow, there’ll be a lot of decorating to do around here.
“I’ll be telling you goodbye soon, Rabbi Sinclair.”

***TWO WEEKS LATER***
Nani sighed sadly as she carried a tray of food to the alpha’s chambers. It’s been a rough two weeks since Ava left this place. Everyone misses her greatly, but the one who misses her the most is even too proud to admit it. She’s been so busy lately as because of Ava she now has to be visiting the camps more often. Nani hasn’t had time to focus on all that has been happening in the packhouse because she’s hardly been around, but when she is around, she doesn’t need much to tell her what’s been going on.
The packhouse is now a shadow of its former self, no more marrying and cheering like it used to be when the future Luna was still present, everyone now goes around carrying gloomy faces, most of the packmates now request for their food to be sent to their rooms and the dining table is hardly ever filled up like it used to be. It baffled Nani how much difference a young she wolf could make in the lives of so many.
Of all that had happened, the news that had bothered her the most was the one about the alpha, he’s been shutting everyone out, with only Sabrina being allowed to enter his chambers now. She’s the one who delivers the alpha’s instructions to the guards, she is also the only one allowed to bring in his food and from what Nani has heard, Sabrina hasn’t been feeding him well as she hardly requests food from the kitchen.
Nani blames herself for this as she’s been so busy, she hasn’t had time to serve him herself, but from all she’s heard from the servants, she’s not pleased at all. She still questions why alpha Lucas is so powerless when it comes to her, he hardly ever questions Sabrina and always does as she says. Nani promised herself then that she’s going to get to the bottom of this, no matter what.
Upon reaching the doors, she knocked on it, a small moment of silence, before a feminine voice behind it answered.
“Who is it?” It was Sabrina who answered, of course.
“It’s um, Nani Rosalyn, I’ve brought food for the alpha.”
“Go away, he’s not hungry now, when he needs to eat, I’ll come to the kitchen to get it from you.”
“I’m not going anywhere Sabrina; I need to speak with alpha Lucas De’ Clan.”
The silence persisted, but Nani was more than determined this time. Sabrina might have been successful in shutting all the dawners away from their alpha, but she wasn’t going to succeed in shutting HER out. No one was going to cut her away from her Lucas, no one.
She knocked and knocked stubbornly, until finally, she heard a hiss from behind the door before Sabrina dragged her feet to open it.
“I thought I told you to…”
As soon as she unlocked the door, Nani didn’t disappoint, she ran inside, pushing Sabrina away so she hit her head against the door, before she ran in and began screaming his name.
“Alpha Lucas! Alpha Lucas!!! Where are you????”
She ran inside the inner chambers, and at the next sight of him seated on the chair, she nearly dropped all the food she was carrying in her hand.
“Lucas De’ Clan, what has she done to you?”
He looked as pale as ever, he’d lost a ton of weight, and one could see the shape of his skull through his face, not only was he being starved, he looked terribly sick.
Sabrina then stormed into the bedroom, boiling like a volcano full of hot lava. “You old witch, how dare you push me away like that?”
Nani ignored her; all her focus was placed on Lucas, she placed the food on the table before going to him, taking his hand in hers.
“Lucas….”
Upon hearing his name and feeling her touch, Lucas turned and met with her gaze, he didn’t say any words, he looked too weak to even speak.
Sabrina then gave an order behind Nani, “Lucas, tell your nanny that she’s interrupting your beauty rest, she’s not supposed to be here, send her away.”
Like a puppet being controlled, Lucas took some time before he slowly mumbled the words. “Please Nani, leave my room now.”
Nani held her mouth wide open, his reaction was definitely not what she expected, but then she held her composure, of course she has to, as she didn’t want Sabrina to know of her suspicions. She left Lucas and turned back to Sabrina, giving her a smile.
“I’m sorry for barging in like that dear, I just wanted to check on alpha Lucas but now I see that he’s perfectly fine. Thank you for taking care of him while I was away.”
