Future Luna
Ava woke up the next morning all alone in the bed, she knew that something was wrong when she realized that she was all alone in the alpha’s chambers; Lucas normally sleeps in with her before breakfast, he doesn’t usually have any important matters to deal with at this time of the day, and if the matter were so important or unexpected, he would have surely told her before leaving. Where then did her mate go? She wondered worriedly.
She couldn’t help but think about his nightmare last night; he’s been behaving strangely these past weeks, like he’s expecting some form of danger coming towards him. She could only do nothing but hope that Lucas remains safe.
‘Dear moon goddess, keep him for me,’ she prayed in her heart as she put on her robe to cover her nightwear, and stepped out of the room in search for him. She asked the guard in front of his chambers, Lucas’s new personal guard, Kain.
“Good morning milady,” Kain greeted her as she closed the door behind her.
“Good morning Kain, have you seen my mate anywhere?”
“Um… yes milady, as a matter of fact, he told me to tell you to meet him at the dining table when you woke.”
“The dining table? This doesn’t make any sense. Why would he be at the dining table so early?”
“I’m afraid I don’t know the answer to that milady, I’m just delivering the message to you the way he told it.”
She sighed. “Very well then, I’ll go meet him there.”
She went back inside the room to take a quick shower and brush her teeth before putting on more decent clothing so she could go to the area where a lot of dawners would be hanging around.
“Breakfast so early? He seems to have such an appetite considering how well he slept last night,” she scoffed as she prepared.
When she was all done, she headed down in the direction of the dining room, and the minute she opened the large doors to enter, the next sounds she heard nearly made her jump out of her skin.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY AVA!!!!” Came the loud chorus sound from all the dawners who had gathered to wish their future Luna well on her special day, the whole dining area had been decorated, and at the top of the room, a “Happy birthday Ava” banner stood boldly.
Ava couldn’t believe her eyes, was this why he… “Oh Lucas,” tears began to well up in her eyes as she saw her mate in front of his followers, right beside Beta Cian and Kiara beaming smiles at her, she was more than surprised, she didn’t expect Lucas to remember to prepare so well for her, even after such a terrible night he had.
“Happy birthday mate,” Lucas smirked as he came forward, grabbing her to enter into his arms and kissing her fully on the mouth.
Nani Rosalyn then came out of the kitchen with a big cake in her hand, placing it on top of the table.
“Thank you, thank you all!” Ava cried as she ended the kiss with Lucas. “I honestly didn’t expect any of this!”
“You didn’t think we’d forget, did you?” Kiara teased.
“You’re one of us now remember? We never forget about any of our own,” Cian finished the statement for her by saying.
“Oh, this is too much, really!” Ava blushed.
Nani then interjected. “Nonsense! Nothing can be too much for someone as sweet as you dear Ava. The dawn pack has never been the same since you stepped into our lives, that’s why we’re celebrating you today.”
“Thank you, Nani.”
“Now come blow out your candles dear, your mate didn’t want me to put them but I knew you’d have wanted to make a wish.”
Ava smiled as she headed to the table to blow out her candles on the cake, she repeated the prayer she’d prayed earlier in her heart before blowing them out. The dawners them let out an applause as she blew them and began to sing birthday songs for her.
“One more thing!” Lucas paused the singing and went on his knees in front of her, in front of the entire dawn pack! Ava’s shock doubled as soon as she realized what he was about to do.
“Ava Maynard, ever since the first day I met you, I’ve always known you were mine, and now I intend to make that known to every single dawner standing here today. I intend to make you my bride and my Luna in the presence of my people.”
“Ava Maynard,” he repeated. “Will you make me the happiest alpha alive? Will you do me the honor of becoming my queen, my Luna?”
Ava couldn’t control the tears this time as Lucas brought out the beautiful diamond ring from its box and slid it on her finger, whatever did she do to be so blessed? She began to admire the ring in her hand before she realized she hadn’t given her answer.
“Oh, Lucas De’ Clan, there’s nothing I’ve wanted more in this world than to be yours! Yes, I will be your queen, I will be your Luna!” Another round of loud applauses were heard as the two mates then sealed their engagement with another kiss.
The singing continued as Ava merried with her new family and for the rest of the day, the celebrations went on, she spent the whole day receiving gifts of different sizes from every single one of the dawners, including Meeka!

***LATER THAT EVENING***
“Words cannot express how grateful I am to each and every single one of you for the surprises I received today. You all have shown me such love and kindness that I’ve never experienced before, and once again, I am thankful to all of you dawners, most especially to my mate, Lucas De’ Clan.”
After Ava gave her acceptance speech, some of the dawners began to retire to their quarters, the ones that have had enough eating and drinking for one day, while the rest stayed behind to continue partying.
Ava held Lucas’s hand as they retired to the alpha’s chambers, and as soon as they were inside, she yelped as he grabbed her by the waist, lifting her off the floor and taking her into the inner room.
“Lucas!!! What are you doing?” She squealed, giggling in his arms.
He beamed a smile at her before answering.
“About to give you my second gift.”
