The next day, Shang Jinshen heard the tiniest sound coming from inside when he pushed the wheelchair to the kitchen door.
“I’ve already figured out a way to ask him for money. Stop calling to urge me, okay?”
Ji Yan held the spoon in her hand and stirred the soup from time to time.
Mrs. Ji swore and cursed on the other side of the phone, “You can’t even handle such a small thing properly. What’s the use of having you? It’s common sense to spend some money to prepare for a wedding. Let me tell you, hurry up! Do you hear me?”
Ji Yan held back her anger. When she was about to talk back, she heard someone behind her say coldly, “Madam Zhang, go and get a car.”
Ji Yan heard this voice which was as cold as an iceberg. She was so scared that she suddenly turned around. However, Shang Jinshen was no longer there.
She hung up the phone and ran out of the door, only to see Madam Zhang opening the door. Shang Jinshen pushed the wheelchair out of the house.
“Aren’t you going to have breakfast at home?” She asked nervously.
Shang Jinshen’s back was stiff and his expression was cold. He went out without looking back.
Ji Yan leaned against the door and bit her lips. Thinking of what she had just said, Shang Jinshen must have despised her.
If she had known this, she would have held on for a while longer the previous night. As long as she held on for a while, she would have gotten 500 million.
On the way to work, Ji Yan was thinking about this matter. In addition, she took a casual look and closed her phone when she received the message from Mrs. Ji asking for money.
“Ji Yan, are you in a shortage of money?” She suddenly heard Shang Yu An’s voice come from behind.
Ji Yan’s hand slipped, and her mobile phone almost fell. She turned around and looked at Shang Yu An speechlessly.
“Why are you here again? Could you stop pestering me?” Ji Yan didn’t pay attention to what Shang Yu An had said before and replied impatiently.
“I’m concerned about you. I want to see you every day,” Shang Yu An said as he grabbed her hand.
He seemed to be as nervous about her as before, and Ji Yan shook him off as if she had been shocked by electricity.
They were on different paths, yet he continued to pester her.
“Don’t always keep me at arm’s length. I have something to give you.”
Shang Yu An said as he put a hard cold thing onto Ji Yan’s hand.
It was a watch.
Ji Yan closed her eyes and threw the watch back into his arms.
“I’ve already thrown this thing away. Why are you still giving it to me?” She said coldly.
Shang Yu An said hurriedly, “No, you deliberately went back to get it last time…”
“Shang Yu An,” Ji Yan interrupted him, “I’m thin now. It doesn’t suit me anymore. Do you understand?”
Shang Yu An was stunned with a painful look on his face.
No matter how much he tried to interrupt Ji Yan from speaking, he could still make out the meaning behind her words.
After Ji Yan finished, she breathed a sigh of relief, “You’d better leave as soon as possible. Your fiancee loves you so much, and she may be stalking you around!”
“That’s only her wishful thinking. It has nothing to do with me!”
Ji Yan twitched her mouth and said with a sneer, “Your wishful thinking has nothing to do with me too!”
As she spoke, she saw more and more people coming to work, and she didn’t want to entangle with Shang Yu An anymore. Thus, she quickly rushed into the crowd and entered the company.
Because of the previous incident, the people in the company were all respectful to her.
They were all a group of people who would jump on the bandwagon and change their minds at any time.
Shortly after Ji Yan went to work, someone came to hand her an envelope.
“Someone asked me to give this to you,” The man left the envelope on the table and left.
She picked up the envelope. Just as she was about to ask who brought it to her, she saw the word “Shang” written on the envelope.
Was it Shang Jinshen?
