“Lucinda, you’ll go to the company tomorrow in place of your sister.”
Lucinda nodded and smirked inwardly, saying, “All right, grandfather. I’m not going to let you down or ruin this family’s reputation.”
Old grandfather Gonzalez nodded in satisfaction. He couldn’t help but sigh as he thought about his other granddaughter. Why is it that she isn’t simply as filial as Lucinda? She was, after all, the best of his grandchildren. What a waste that she followed her mother’s footsteps!
As soon as Lucinda noticed Grandpa’s dazed expression, she said, “Grandpa, let me rub your legs.” Grandfather was thinking about Lenora, and she didn’t need anyone to tell her that.
She grits her teeth inwardly while moving to kneel before her grandfather. Luckily, Old grandpa, Gonzalez stopped her right in time otherwise, she would have touched his stinky feet. The thought of it made her gag inwardly.
“No need for that Luci. Here, I prepared this for you.” She put on an enthusiastic look as he gave her a brown envelope containing cash.
“Grandpa, thank you!”
Lucinda counted the cash in the envelope as she exited the study while sneering. Does grandpa think she is worth so little?
She was just about to enter her room when her mom, Priscilla came running anxiously. “You need to see this.”
“What is it?” She took the phone from her mom and immediately, her face contorted into a sneer.
She has just seen Preston’s post which is trending on the internet!
A beggar wants to please that bitch of a cousin? Good luck with that!
Out of everything she did to Lenora in the past, she is most proud of her recent achievement which has pushed Lenora into a tight spot.
That’s right! Lenora has become a joke to the socialites the moment she announced her engagement with that poor thing and that’s something to celebrate about, isn’t it?
With that thought in mind, she returned the phone to her, smiling. “It’s alright mommy, at this point, there’s nothing she can do but only entertain the poor. These people will give up on them soon, give it time.”
“But…”
“No, but’s mom. I need to sleep, tomorrow is a big day for me.” she skipped into her room while humming a song, closing the door on my Priscilla.
In Maple Mansion~
As Lenora dozed off, sunlight filtered through the window and reflected on her face, giving her a scowl. She pulled the quilt cover over her head and tried to get comfortable when memories of last night hit her. Preston forced his way into her room The s*x toys. She pretended to sleep. The bed, dipped beside her as he got into the same bee with her.
She suddenly jumped out of bed and into a sitting position as the memories assaulted her mind all at once. She looked beside her as soon as the quilt dropped and discovered that the space was empty.
However, despite the fact that the area has turned cold, it is obvious from the rumbled sheet that he slept beside her last night.
Right at that moment, the door opened.
Lenora’s head sprang up as she saw Preston walk in in nothing on, and she nearly choked to death as her jaw fell in disbelief!
Oh, he’s putting on sweatpants. However, because they were worn loosely around the waist, they highlighted the deep V in his sculpted pelvis rather than serving to conceal them.
For a moment, Lenora became distracted.
Holy shit!
Is that my hubby?? How come I never noticed how sexy he was before?
I mean, I knew he had a great body that doesn’t match the face but this… it was almost sinful.
His body was ripped with sculpted muscles and abs, Lenora couldn’t help but wonder when he had time to go to the gym to work out.
It got her drooling! Literally.
It took her a moment to realise he was holding a tray. Her eyes quickly snapped back to his getting an amused look in return. Shoot. He caught her staring.
“The smile on his face grew as he said, “Good morning, wife.” Ha! It appears that he needs to thank those online users.
Lenora gave him a dubious look. “What are you doing?” and for the love of God, why is he shirtless?
“Breakfast in bed! It’s always the best for couples, don’t you think?”
For someone who wasn’t used to overly cheerful people, Lenora felt uncomfortable. She watched as Preston brought the food forward, setting it in her front.
On the platter were stir-fried bacon, coffee, and eggs. She blinked many times as she glanced at the meal, which not only had unattractive forms but also appeared to have been somewhat burned. After some time, she turned to face him; he was also watching her and impatiently for her to taste it. “You made this?”
“Uh-huh!”
If anyone told her how Preston suffered to make those, will she at least put on an excited expression?
His hands were precious yet, he made breakfast for her. Thinking about how many times he burnt the dishes before he finally got this one perfect, Preston nodded at her in encouragement.”Go on, try it.”
“How am I sure you didn’t poison it so I’ll die and then you take my property?”
Preston snorted in his head despite putting on an aghast expression. Property? He’s fully aware she had nothing at the moment. “Why would I murder my wife when we’ve not had our honeymoon yet?” he questioned offensively.
Lenora studied his face for a moment while pretending she didn’t hear his word before picking up the fork. Seems like he used lots of effort to cook, the least she could do is to eat.
After shoving some steaks into her mouth, she pauses and chewed slowly before swallowing with more difficulty than intended. Setting the fork on the tray, she grab the coffee and took a big sip.
She immediately regretted doing so and wished she could spit it out. However, a quick look at Preston made her gulp it down, all while keeping a straight face.
“So? Do you like it?”
Instead of answering, a bright smile appeared on her face, she took a piece of bacon with her fingers and gave it to Preston. “Ahh.”
