“Your husband is going to do all the work that is needed to get you both back, whichever one of you is the wife, or ex-wife, I don’t care, if he does things right then you might gain your freedom but if he doesn’t, then apologizes to your parents because they haven’t done a thing to me, but I can’t say the same for Rafael, he ruined my life,”
The man said, he looked oddly familiar, but She couldn’t remember where it was when she had met him but she knew she had met him before.
“What do you mean by Rafael ruin your life? He can’t do that,”
“Is that what he told you? I am guessing you are the wife since you are the one trying to defend him, let’s hope the man you are defending values you enough to come to your rescue, he has to I can’t lose like that,”
“Who are you? What did Rafael do to you? Why are you doing this?”
“You really don’t know what your man did? You don’t know? I am pretty sure you are already married to him before he turned against me and made me lose everything I worked for even my reputation.”
He responded. Nicole tried to remember who it was that Rafael had issues with when they got married newly, her eyes opened when it finally clicked
“You finally remembered?”
“Oh my God, Leonard? I thought you were in prison?”
She asked in shock, she didn’t really know the man facially she has seen his photos quite a few numbers of times while his case had been ongoing, she didn’t expect to ever meet him in person.
“Good that you remembered, now you know what happened,”
“Rafael wasn’t the one that ruined your life, you did that by yourself,”
She let out, he couldn’t blame Rafael for everything that happened when he was the one that was doing shady deeds and endangering the lives of people, all Rafael did was expose him for his deceits.
“You better watch what you say or you might not like what comes to you, your husband is to blame for everything that happened and he is going to pay for it,”
He responded.
“He is not, you are the one who ruined your life,”
She replied she wasn’t going to sit here and watch a failure of a man lie on the man she loved.
“I told you to watch what you say,”
Leonard yelled and slapped her.
“Bitch, watch what you say, or I am not going to wait for Salvador before I do away with you,”
He added, she willed herself not to cry, she turned and looked at Natalie who was crying in the corner, she has been silent since.
“Don’t say a word please,”
She mouthed to Nicole, and she nodded, she wasn’t going to say anything again anyway, she didn’t want to be beaten, if that happens she didn’t want anything to happen to her baby so she had to watch what she said, the man, Leonard got off the seat and walked towards the door.
“Keep an eye on them,”
He said and left, the others followed behind him and they were left on their own again
“You shouldn’t have said anything that provoked him Cole, please refrain from it, it is best to keep quiet, we don’t have a say here, I don’t want you to get hurt,”
Natalie said, her voice was much better now.
“I am sorry Natie,”
“Don’t be, let’s just pray that mom, dad, and the boys are doing something to get us out of here, okay?”
“Yes, are you alright?”
“Yes, I am still feeling dizzy but I think whatever I inhaled is starting to ear off.”
She answered, Nicole nodded and they both sat in silence, waiting for any of the men to return but none of them did, she fell asleep sometime later…

The next morning Nicole was the first to wake up, she realized that her hands were no longer tied, she didn’t know when they had untied her, she stood up from the bed and gradually walked to the tiny window in the room, she looked out through the window and all she could see where trees, maybe this was the back of the house, she walked to the door and as she had expected, it was locked, she looked at her twin sho was still sleeping, it was her fault that Natalie was here, she was to be blamed for endangering her sister’s life, if only she hadn’t been so stubborn and listened to Rafael maybe they would both have had men with them and they won’t be here now.
“I am sorry Natie,’
She whispered touching her sister’s face, she moved in her sleep and opened her eyes.
“Cole,”
She said and hugged her.
“Natalie, I was so scared when they brought you in and you looked so lifeless,”
“Me too,”
Natalie replied and they cried together after which they both stayed in each other’s embrace until the older of the two men who brought them here came, he looked at the both of them and went back out, a few minutes later the younger one came bringing food.
“You guys should eat, there is water and soap and brush, in the washroom, you can wash up before or after you eat,”
“We don’t want it,”
Nicole said.
“No, girl, you don’t know for how long you will be here, my advice is to eat when food is brought for you because you don’t know when next you will get any, and if you think there is anything in the food, don’t worry, neither of those men will do any harm, they need the money too much,”
He said. He was talking as if he wasn’t in on this with them.
“This is about money? They want money that’s why we are here?”
“Of course, what else? We all need money,”
“And that’s why you are doing this too? Can’t you work for your money? You are quite young,”
Natalie replied.
“Me? I am just as much of a victim as you both, but the difference is you get to be free but I can’t because my dad is the devil, if I leave I will die and I don’t wanna die,”
He said. Nicole took pity on him.
“Why aren’t you running away?”
“Run? I have done that but, he always finds me no matter where I go and him meeting Leonard and them planning this, it was like two evil meetings,”
“Why don’t you turn yourself in to the police?”
Nicole asked. If he does that, he might get a light sentence and will be free from his dad.
“You sure have a lot of questions, but unfortunately, I can’t answer them, I have said too much, just eat your food and pray your people answer them on time so you guys can leave here,”
He said and left, both her and Natalie exchanged looks before they decided to eat the food, after eating they both went to take a bath, they had to re-wear the clothes they were wearing, after cleaning up they came back into their little prison. None of the men showed up for the rest of the day, they both waited and waited, there was nothing they could do but keep waiting for a miracle…
