“I said I want a divorce, I don’t want to have anything to do with you or your family anymore, I want out of this marriage, it wasn’t meant to happen in the first place,”
Rafael let out, Nicole felt her world ending again, this wasn’t it, this wasn’t what she wanted to happen, she didn’t want Rafael to leave her
“No, you can’t do this, why? A divorce? I don’t understand? Until the accident we were cool but then after I know we fell apart but we can fix this, I don’t want a divorce please,”
“I do, and I am going to get it, I can’t stand you, Nicole , I can’t stand seeing you anymore without thinking about the child we lost, the child I couldn’t get justice for because you decided to play the sibling card, I can’t stand knowing that my child didn’t stand a chance because of some siblings feud and she had to suffer such tragedy and you won’t even let me get justice, so this is my decision,”
He said.
“I know, I know you wanted my sister to go to jail for pushing me, and you don’t believe me when I say she didn’t, and I understand, you lost a child, I understand but it is not enough to do this to me, I didn’t play the sibling card like you think I did, no, I didn’t do that, Natalie didn’t push me, it was an accident, yes we are both at fault for fighting but she didn’t push me, I fell because I slipped,”
“Don’t tell me the details, I don’t need then, what happened has already happened, there is no taking it back,”

“There is nothing to fix here Nicole , you made your choice, you choose your family, and that’s fine, I don’t want you anymore, you can stick with your family,”
She facepalmed herself, took her glasses off as they were starting to hurt, she couldn’t see much but he was close enough for her, her eyes were becoming useless anyway as tears gathered and clouded both of them.
“We can fix this if only you give me a chance,”
She said as the tears came down, she wiped them off but they just kept coming that she just left them.
“I don’t want to fix, I want out,”
He yelled in response
“Rafael you can’t do this to me, you know you are all I have left, if you leave me too, how do expect me to survive this?”
she pleaded crying but he didn’t listen to her, he wasn’t even trying to understand her which made this even worst, she understand that he was angry with her decision not to make her sister go to jail since he still think Natalie pushed her but asking for a divorce because of that was going a lot too far for someone who claimed to love her.
“Rafael, you can’t seriously want to leave me because of one mistake right? you said you will be with me forever, you said you love me how can it change already?”
“Did I say I don’t love you anymore? What do you take me for? I love you Nicole , so fucking much but that doesn’t mean I have to be with you, I can’t do this anymore, I have lost so much being with you than I have gained, I love you but love is not enough to get us through this, love is not enough to bring our kid back,”
“Rafael, please, don’t leave me, I beg you, I can’t live like this, please, I know, I know you need time, I understand but don’t leave me,”
She pleaded, why was it so hard for him to let them get through this together, it would be easier if they were together and walked it out together, she couldn’t do this on her own, she wasn’t strong enough to bear it all.
“I want out Nicole , I can’t do this and I am not going to talk about it anymore, you, your family, you guys have done enough damage, I was okay until I got to know your twin and then you, I was fine being just a heartless businessman, you know what’s painful? That I almost had what I have been craving for even though I didn’t know it and right before my very own eyes, it got taken away, moving on, o don’t think I will be able to forgive you or your family, so it’s best if we go our separate ways, I promise that I won’t take a thing from you for our divorce and you can get whatever you want from me, I don’t mind, but I can’t be with you anymore,”
He said. She was crying fully now, not just a few years but there were a lot and her version was practically blocked by her tears that she couldn’t even see him, yet she tried to get off the wheelchair, she fell, he didn’t even budge, didn’t try to help her up, but still, she didn’t mind, she understood him, the only thing that matters now is to get him to change his mind about leaving her.
“Rafael, please, don’t do this to us, we can fix this, I know we can, I love you, Rafael, I love you so much I don’t know what I will do without you here, you are all I have Rafael don’t leave me,”
She cried, she felt his presence, felt him close to her, reached out for him, he knelt beside her, his hands cupping her face and wiping her tears, she held on to him, searching his eyes but all she could see without her glasses and with tears was a blurry figure, she saw him lean in, waited until his lips met hers, she would have been happy, would have cried for joy but this kiss, it felt different, felt so different from the thousands of other kisses they have shared in the past, this wasn’t a kiss of a promise, it was more of a goodbye kiss and she didn’t want that, she didn’t want to say goodbye to him, still she let him kiss her and kissed him right back begging with her lips for this not to be goodbye, yet it ended, he pulled off the kiss, dropped another on her forehead.
